I'm super new to machine knitting and these videos are super helpful, in particular this one. No longer need to fear dropping stitches, or a mangled project. Thanks!

I’ve been hand knitting and crocheting for a few years and had always been tempted to get a knitting machine, but the cost put me off as well as a belief that it was cheating somehow and easier! A month ago I decided to buy one. Silver reed SK280. Well I quickly realised it was far from easy and that the instructions it came with not brilliant. I’m autistic and struggle with learning new things due to slow processing and find written and verbal instructions much harder to take in, much preferring videos. I found out that I should have oiled the machine before starting and was successfully making rows, but tension issues and other things lead to many times what I was making would come of the needles and I was struggling to reattach the knitting as I have rheumatoid arthritis and shaky hands. It was quicker to restart the work regardless off what point I was at. I came across your you tube site and this video has been a god send helping me see and understand the mechanics of the knit and how to manipulate a piece which has dropped stitches. I have just successfully managed to reattach a piece in a fairly decent time. I’ve now subscribed to your channel and look forward to learning more. Thank you for such an informative and understandable tutorial 😀

Thank you! I now know multiple dropped stitches and messed up rows are not the WORST thing that can happen. Lol

If this were a garment, and your row counter was keeping you on track, how do you now reset that counter to match up to the row you are now on? Since you undid multiple rows to latch the dropped stitches back on?
Seems like one could forget what row the pattern should be on.

Good point mine has a manual stitch counter so I can go through forwards to the right number by hand. To 000 and then manually flip the counter forward howevernmany times.

I noticed that you held the end of your fabric up so you could get at the dropped stitches. When I do that it seems that that tends to pull the good fabric off the needles. Any suggestions?

Make sure the needles are locked maybe? They will go back the next round on mine I can't do any manipulations without locking the needles or I do the same I can barely see the stitches I have a lace weight machine.

If i had the issue where half the stitches had dropped id honestly just put the ornage stitches on the needles and rip back the green.
