Hey man! Being a beginner in this game is tough, but don't be too hard on yourself, the post game is the most difficult aspect of 2K - especially with how close the defense is to you. I wouldn't try some of the more advanced combos yet until you nail the beginner moves. I'd focus on doing the following: 1. Understand how strength, and speed work to your favor in a post up situation. Moves I'd start mastering: - Aggressive backdown (Holding L2 + R2 + Left stick towards the basket) and if you get a bump that generates space, go into a hook shot or fadeaway. - if you're a faster post player, shimmy to any of your shoulders, then rotate the RS and spin the opposite direction to counter while holding the LS towards the direction of your launch. If you're successful and don't get bumped, finish. - Post drive (L2 + R2 + LS towards the basket) then immediately post fade Start with those basic moves and then build your skillset from there. Slowly expand your post game. This move is a comprehensive list of ALL the post moves in the game, and while it may be fun to do everything, and learn everything all at once, the right way to learn is start with the basic moves and expand from there. You can do it man! This took me YEARS of getting real good, I don't expect beginners to learn everything so quickly, but this gives you a framework of how to get better!

Any online player would bite on the first move you give them let alone the next 5 he’s showing every time…, no one knows about post game, myself included
Hold L2 + R2, hold the left stick down left/right and double tap square (hold on second attempt). This is an easier method if you're not used to right stick inputs!
They're easy to do ironically, but what's difficult is to be able to use them properly. So much is dependent on your ability to create the space needed to be able to execute a shot in close quarters. Mid post fades and face up drives are easy. But Hakeem/Embiid/Jokic style post work down low is the toughest to execute
Why is there no green zone on simple shots in the post. If you don’t do fakes or a post moves first you will never get a green zone and it’s impossible to make. Even if it’s a easily makeable shot with dominant guys like Jokic
Wow. You make this look easy. What system are you using-you wouldn’t have this sensitivity with Xbox. I’m guessing ps5. How did you get to a stepback jumper with double tapping square?? Is that one n the rest n-game post moves list? No post practice mode on 24 eh? Unbelievable. I’ve played 2024 for a few months, practiced some of this but not this well. There are more animations in 2025. And 2023 was reviewed pretty good for 2k. Any thoughts on 2025? 2023?
Just takes a lot of work man! I think 2K25 is a huge step up from 24, im currently having a lot of fun with it! If you enjoyed 24, there’s no world where you wont enjoy 25, even though its far from perfect!
@@KevinCruz016 no problem. How DID you get that sweet stepback jumper by double tapping square? Is that even a move in the game? (In the instructions)? if you wanna shoot post fades is shot if you're doing post hooks it's finishing
@@AntiSocialLogic thx
Any help on why my player won’t do the 1:1 post movement, instead he just dribbles and moves in that direction?
What do you do for the unbelievable lag in online? There was less lag in 2K1 almost 25 years ago.
Instead of saying “tapping” the joystick you should say “flicking” 👍
Don’t tell the man how to speak! Just know what he’s saying and move on
@@Not-you-again Nah he’s right cause you can click down on the stick I could see people messing that up😅
Will this work in online modes tho? Given the delay and opponents just raise their hands up when defending the post.
Definitely! Just used Hakeem in MyTeam, and was putting in the work with post moves! But yes, delay will make it a bit tough!
Any online player would bite on the first move you give them let alone the next 5 he’s showing every time…, no one knows about post game, myself included
W video this helped a lot!
I tried to do the post shimmy moves for thirty minutes and could only do it on accident lol
Hold L2 + R2, hold the left stick down left/right and double tap square (hold on second attempt). This is an easier method if you're not used to right stick inputs!
Thanks Man your video is complète and really helpful 👌🏽👍🏾
Can someone explain how to do the post swing animation I’ve been trying for 2 days
Awesome video thanks!
wow this is amazing! You are awesome!
Why doesn’t Shaq have a hook specialist badge ???
Where can i play alone like u did? Witch mode is that
Needed this 🔥
Most people don't know how to play 2K that's why they hate it. This is how 2K should be played.
I just want up & under step through but I can’t get it for shit🤦🏾♂️
Not gonna lie, it can get tricky, but once you get into the habit of forcing your defender to commit hard, it gets easier!
GOd my brain hurts from tryna compute all these moves
How do you do ankle breakers in the post?
I would love to see u play a game and use these moves
You can see my Jokic video man, though it's MyTeam! I use a few of this there, and I'll do a Kobe feature soon!
@KevinCruz016 I just wanna see u get busy in rec or pro am with these moves
Are the dribble moves on absolute
Can kobe throw it off backboard out of post?
How you euro dunk tho is it possible this year
Good looking out with this one
Thank you so much, bro.
does this work on current gen?

Glad to hear this bro!
Thank you @kevin Kruz for unlocking a whole new game and this stuff works like magic in the park
Let’s goooooooooooo!!!!!!!
As a big man i need this im still learning the game lol
Great video!
There it is!!!😎🙏🏽💪🏽
Masterful 😂
Appreciate you!!
Man you are good
you just made me unguardable on the 1s court my guy😂 thanks
Are post moves the hardest mechanics to master in 2k games?
They're easy to do ironically, but what's difficult is to be able to use them properly. So much is dependent on your ability to create the space needed to be able to execute a shot in close quarters. Mid post fades and face up drives are easy. But Hakeem/Embiid/Jokic style post work down low is the toughest to execute
Why is there no green zone on simple shots in the post. If you don’t do fakes or a post moves first you will never get a green zone and it’s impossible to make. Even if it’s a easily makeable shot with dominant guys like Jokic
It’s the same concept in real life bro, you have to fake people out to lose them in the post
I envy you bro, I pride myself in having a post game but I never seen half of the moves you have on this video.
@@KevinCruz016
no problem.
How DID you get that sweet stepback jumper by double tapping square? Is that even a move in the game? (In the instructions)?
I noticed a big difference between the hop back jumper (small step) which is normal beginner shot with the flick,
and the awesome step back / spin + step back jumper I see all over youtube and in this video!
It might depend on the animations/player you use.
But I’m brand new to these new controls, So how do you get that stepback jumper (which creates lots of space) every time?
