I actually love it when the villain wins in the end, especially if it was a secret one. There's not enough movies out there that take that risk
It does a great service to every other movie with a hero/villain dynamic too because it reminds me the protagonist isn't necessarily safe
what villain? the main character got a happy ending. the detective had closure. and the veterans were given the help that they need.

I have seen it, excellent movie. There is enough material to make a tv show about it à la "6 million dollar man".
It's a decent flick for sure! Def worth a watch. The fight* scenes are pretty awesome.

Me: 4 minutes in: Grey must have insulted that guy pretty bad for him to hack the car to take them to a slum, hire four thugs to grab them and kill Asha, the head of a rival company, and make Grey so badly hurt that he would finally want the STEM implant to seek his own justice, while simultaneously becoming the futuristic machine he opposed his whole life, all because Asha didn't want to be in a car that didn't have a hackable computer.
Me at the end: All of that and more because Grey actually insulted STEM. Also, how did this movie come out in the same year as Venom, but earlier?

I like watching these till I find a good looking movie, stop halfway through and rent the actual movie and watch it. Then come back and finish what I started. Fun routine tried it with Turbo kid and it was goofy asf but still a blast to watch
Edit: finished watching upgrade and this movie was absolutely amazing. 9-10 leaving one just because I felt bad on what happened to grey. Still an amazing ending tho
