    Today I'm going to tell you guys what made me choose the genesis coupe 3.8 over the 2.0t!
    The 2.0t is definitely an awesome car but in my opinion the 3.8 is the way to go!

    The 3.8 may not be turbo charged but it is a GDI engine which works similar to a turbo except instead of ramming more air into the engine on a GDI engine it’s directly spraying gas into the cylinders instead of going on to the intake valves to get more power. It’s a lot of pressure.

    3.8 GDI engine is know for carbon buildup on the intake valves. Or any GDI engine in general. The 2.0T theta is non GDI and more aftermarket support. I currently have 190k on my 2.0T Rspec and it’s still running strong. But the 3.8 exhaust note does sound good.

I've heard nothing but good about them from friends that have them tho! Same day I found a c6 corvette and knew I was going to buy it on the test drive, and that's kept up with the BS I put it through everyday since haha

    To Everyone who wants this car please don’t use “It sounds like a GTR” as a buying point because when you hear a real gtr you’ll regret it and you shouldn’t be know as the guy who thinks his car sounds like a GTR. Me personally I’d go with the 2.0t for the simple fact as it’s tunable and you can build it without having to buy a whole turbo kit plus the 3.8 genesis , Infinity and Lexus Is250/350 all sound about the same also if you guys didn’t know the 2.0t genesis has the same engine as the Lancer Rally Art (Evo) it’s just detuned soooo weight your options .. do you wanna “sound like a gtr” or be able to cheaply build and keep up with one 🤔

    I have a 2016 3.8. I used to drive an old 2001 or 2002 mitsubishi mirage to school everyday. My mirage used to break down all the time, so I needed a new car (not with my own money at the time). It has been three years now, and I have 55,000 miles on the genesis. It is entirely stock. Everything sucks right now because I graduated with my bachelor's in December 2018, did an internship last Summer in the bay area, which was the most amazing thing ever, and two contract jobs. Ever since, I have no job and I am not making money, while trying to get youtube videos going, which is hardly going well. I don't get views and I don't see how anyone gets to 1,000 subscribers fast unless you are Riley Simpson. I contacted turbokits a few months ago and a company in my city that said they could install the kit and any other mods. I don't care too much about aesthetics. I only need a Duckbill and a good set of machine lip wheels, and I have already made a list f everything while I spent a month or two researching about cars for some reason during quarantine. The problem now is I have no steady income, and here I am going to spend money at a spiritual doctor tomorrow with my long term health problems. All of this is happening during the apocalypse. I just feel as though I have accomplished nothing in this life. I want to be able to cruise around in a 450+ whp Genesis coupe making pops and recording a pov. There not many good genesis pov videos at all other than this channel. I can't imagine how much of a difference that whp is. The mirage I used to drive was low 100s horsepower, and when I stepped into the Genesis 3.8 at 348 hp, it blew my mind. I have driven it so much that it feels like an old car again, so I definitely need a tune. The car is too quiet and does not respond well. I need turbo, ecu, wheels, etc. Hopefully I can do it someday. Everything feels hopeless.

      You will for sure be able to build your genesis exactly how you want it one day! Nothing is hopeless man you can get through it I promise! @rayjhay8624 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    I prefer the 2.0t . Obviously it doesnt come with much power from off the jump specially mine its a bk1 probably makes only 190whp but I can obviously build my car from the ground up. $8k my bk1 is making 405whp 315wtq with a Tomei mx7960. By the way it doesnt take 1500 to get it faster than the 3.8 it takes $500 for the stage 2 canned tuned. Which comes with pops and crackled and launch control. Worth the money. Dont get me wrong 3.8 are great if you dont plan on modding your car my gf drives a 2016 3.8 ultimate.

    It actually takes $750 to make a stock 2.0T faster than the 3.8. All you need is a stage 1 tune from BTR. Also, the 2.0T is 300lbs lighter. I have $2000 in performance mods on my 2.0T and I make 318whp and 362wtq including 300 lbs less weight than a 3.8. • @mattevans1643
      @mattevans1643 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have never seen a battery light come on in my entire life, and i'm a mechanic. Start simple and makes sure the terminal connectors are tight. If they're tight get the battery tested. If it's fine get the alternator tested. Both can be done at autozone or those kinds of stores for free. There are two scenarios with the alternator. It could either be not charging the battery, or it could be overcharging the battery. Both are bad, and means you should get a new alternator and battery because it could be damaged from both scenarios. If they are both fine, check your relays and fuses for the warning light. Could just be that they are bad. If all of that is fine, then you have a wiring issue, not fun. Any time you have a problem just think of every part in that "circuit". I use the term circuit because it's easy to understand. While it doesn't apply to mechanical issue, the principle still does. Just follow the chain, test the easy stuff first. And obviously if you see something like a damaged wire, take care of that first. Before the other steps, because fixing the other stuff won't change anything if your connection isn't good.

    Already have on Ark Downpipe, Test Pipe, IRS Catback Street Exhaust, and a short ram intake.
    Going to put on Ark Headers and Manifold Riser with a tune to try and push 425+ HP.
    For aesthetics and or functional use. All Carbon Fiber Hood, Duckbill Trunk, Front Splitter, Side Skirts, Diffuser, Interior Steering Wheel. With 1 inch lowering coilovers and 1 inch spacers to make it look flush AF
    Still thinking about a big Turbo because if I put a turbo on the 3.8 I can easily hit over 500HP. BUT i have to upgrade the motor so I dont blow up the engine from the stress on a stock motor. But if I upgrade my motor I More than likely lose lifetime warrenty on motor and transmission due to change of motor from what dealership can work on due to warrenty. Sooo I am more than likely to not Turbo so I can have lifetime motor and transmission warrenty while still pushing 425+ HP. Another reason is because 425+HP is way more than enough for a daily Genesis coupe driver as myself. Than if I turbo and overpower my genesis and make it not reliable for daily driving.

    • @mattevans1643
      @mattevans1643 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      What, i've seen these go for as low as $4k. It is not an expensive car. The big thing is the 3.8 has less parts than the 2.0. Which means less can go wrong. The 3.8 also has more potential than the 2.0. The 2.0 is lighter, and has a turbo. You should not be considering a 2.0 because it has a turbo. Turbos don't mean anything. You can supercharge the 3.8 and then the 2.0 means nothing.
