Pity we didn't see a new design change for the 2020 iMac but we did get some pretty decent internal upgrades! Here's my recommended spec:

Without production Mac's running the new version of MacOS there is no way to know the performance difference. There is no objective data showing it will be faster or slower than Intel. All we know is it's coming and that's it.

I know Apple still calls all the drives hard drives, but that doesn't make it accurate.
Hard Disc Drive (HDD):
"A hard disk drive, hard disk, hard drive, or fixed disk is an electro-mechanical data storage device that uses magnetic storage to store and retrieve digital data using one or more rigid rapidly rotating platters coated with magnetic material"
The new iMac isn't available with hard drive storage. They are only available with solid state storage (SSD)

The graphical performance of a GPU is not dependent solely on the amount of Video RAM. The Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) is the main factor in a graphic card's performance.
In the comparison Apple used they compared the performance of a the latest Navi video card (5000 series) produced by AMD and one from a previous generation (Vega). If they both had 8 gigs of RAM and the program being used as the benchmark application never exceeded the 8gb of V-Ram the difference in performance would still be the same. V-RAM only affect performance when the amount of data needed to be processed by the video card is exceeded and that data has to be stored outside of the video card's hardware. The reason the new video cards perform better is they are base on better performing GPU's and not just because they have more video memory.
Getting the 8GB of RAM option is the best one to get in my opinion.
If you can upgrade the RAM yourself just get a new 32GB kit instead of trying to match the RAM they used with a similar kit. All of the RAM will run at the speed of the slowest module.
On Apple's website the upgrade from 8gb to 16gb of RAM is $200! That's outrageous for another 8GB of RAM. Two years ago when RAM was at it's most expensive it was around $200 for 16GB, but today you can get a 16GB kit of basic RAM for around $50 - $70 and that's for a full 16GB kit and not just another 8GB module.
For $77 USD you can buy a kit of "Kingston HyperX DDR4 16GB 2666MHz SODIMM", from Amazon. Instead of paying $200 for another 8GB or RAM sell that "authentic Apple 8GB RAM module" for $50 and buy 32GB of RAM for $154.

Thanks for showing the nano texture display, although I wish you had a glossly display to compare. I think the nano display is expensive but I would never go back to glossy display again. Its a pity Apple won't make the option cheaper to get more people choosing it.
If you've seen one iMac unboxing video ... you've seen them all.
But the only one I've seen to so far that showed the nano matte display for any length of time.
I just ordered mine today for the 2nd time. Due to California Wilfres my in store pick up today was cancelled so now I have to wait until tomorrow! Im still pumped...
ofc i am waiting for the biggest upgrade cuz it seems very good.
Something that most reviewers don't mention: the internal SSD is soldered on -board. What does it mean? That if it fails or you need to upgrade it you will have to replace a large part of the logic board costing WAY more than a standard SSD replacement...
So besides the external, screen & speed, it is a good idea to also check what there is inside before buying...

I've been changing machines in a average 5 year period (my latest iMac is from 2015...) but i think i'll skip this one and wait for the next incarnation - hope it won't take too long...
How much graphics do you recommend for video editing ? 4GB 8Gb or 16GB vram? I use Logic Pro x I have light room and photoshop opened currently I’m editing 1080 And 2.5k raw, want to edit 4K60 and in the future and eventually In the future future edit 8k from the R5! Which is more important, the graphics or the CPU? I7 or i9 I’m so confused more than ever now! I’m looking at your recommendations or just get the base model i7 and upgrade the ram on my own! Help!?

I actually got my 27" iMac 2020 Yesterday. I opted for the 8gb model (but upgraded it to 128gb with OWC Memory for 600$ rather than Apple's $1600) Also i went for the 4TB SSD, 16 Gb XT GPU, Intell i9 10-core, and 10gb Ethernet. I actually do video editing and Studio music. The audio and effects can take up a lot of memory so the 128 was definitely what i needed. However, I feel 64gb is probably a better sweet spot for a power user. As you mentioned it really comes down to how you plan to use the device. I also did the Nano texture because when i am showing someone a image on a mobile device via facetime the glare is terrible so nano fixes that. Other options i opted for were numeric pad keyboard, Track pad and Apple Mouse. Basically loaded it up except memory (which i did via OWC).
If you are going to purchase a new Imac (especially the 27") and you are a student you can save around $600 with the options i selected I think with Full upgrades and Apple Care out the door put me at around 5k. Overall really loving the performance over the 2019 (Which is really minor in CPU Power, but substantial with disk speed, mic, camera, and storage and security chip update).
Love the review and unboxing! Definitely look elsewhere such as OWC for memory as i was able to max it out for 1k less.
Hi, I see that you get 4TB SSD option, May i ask you for checking its speed in Blackmagic Disk Test and Blackmagic BRAW test (according to Apple 4 and 8TB should be faster than 2TB)? What about the fan noise during your music productions and video editing? Is it audiable especially in idle mode? I am super interested about that because want to get the same specs. Thank you for your effort in advance.

I don't know why I like watching reviews of this computer. Lol. I'm not gonna get it since I already bought the 2020 MacBook Pro 13 inch. I have more use for a laptop anyway since I bring it to places. It is a nice computer though. I'm perfectly fine with my laptop right now but if I ever decide to buy a desktop computer, this will be it. I like being able to use my computer wherever I want as well which is why a laptop is better for me. I also still live at home so I bring it with me when I go between houses or when I go visit family. I will also be bringing it with me when I go on vacation to visit my girlfriend (long distance relationship) when this pandemic is over. Would not be able to do that if I had this iMac computer. Lol. Great review though. Really liked it. It definitely is worth buying if you like desktop computers and worth buying the MacBook Pro or MacBook Air if you like laptops.

🤦 the 2080ti is still more powerful the the 5000 series. Which is based on RDNA which are not pro GPUs they are gaming GPUs. The rx5700xt will never top the 2080ti.

As my workflow suites Large monitor works(if possible ultra wide), should I wait for ARM 13"(or may be 12") Macbook to use it with a Monitor (because current base mac lacks in graphical power, and upcomings are said to be More powerful & I don't need 16" for its size and price) or I should go with iMac instead ?
