I am waiting for answers about Facial Interfaces. I have the Globular Cluster F3 (which I love) and with my BoboVR S3 Pro I need to know if it will still charge flawlessly. I hope you are able to test this and post your results (just by trying out a few different facial interfaces that you might have on hand). I would appreciate your feedback. Thanks.
I used the stock interface and the AMVR interface and both worked fine. I have one from Apexinno on the way now and I’ll reach out to Globular Cluster. My gut feeling is they’ll all work. The dock has a very small bump where the facial interface nose piece sets. I’ll update this comment once I’ve verified.

Because of the lack of controller grip support, I'll stick to just plugging the cord into the headset.
100% understandable. If an accessory company could make a charging dock, golf club, and gun stock all work with grips it would be a license to print money.
Neat design. I like that they added a plastic piece that's adjustable so it could work with different head straps. #assassin32vr

I'm guessing those are NiMh batteries and they don't show 100% charge since they're only 1.2v?
You are correct on all counts! 1800mAH NiMh batteries at 1.2v. They show 90% in the headset when fully charged. Nailed it.

I play VR since PSVR1 that I bought back in 2017. Since then I tried Quest 2, PSVR2, and half year ago I bought Quest 3 and since PSVR1 was wired I am used to wire so I always play PCVR or standalone with headset connected to the plug so my headset does not discharge while I am gaming, and do not get me wrong when I play PCVR I use Airlink but I'm always charging headset (I just bought 5 m cable). And when I am charging headset I do not use original Meta charger (3 amps 5 volts) I use some other smartphone old charger 2 amps, 5 volts thanks to that battery in headset is charging slower so it would have longer life. And I always keep battery charged between 50-80% due to the fact that modern batteries do not like to be overcharged or discharged and 50-80% is optimal. When I play PCVR connected to the plug with 2amp charger I loose about 8% an hour so I can play more than 3 hours and keep battery in healthy range of 50-80%. To regain that 30% it is less than 1 h of charging with 2 amp charger. From time to time I charge headset to 90-95% then I have about 5h of gameplay. I could use original charger 3 amps in that way headset woud not even be discharging while I use headset in pcvr mode but I thought that lowering that one amp is better for battery life. Cause fast charging shortens service life of battery. I am holding headset in original box. That charging cable I bought have Usbc connector shaped in to L. and it is mounted to headset with velcro so it does not move and destroy usbc port. I did it with quest 2 (it had original 2 amps 5 volts charger, so I used 1 amp 5 v I had that headset for 30 months and battery was in great condition. So I sold it and bought Q3. I do not use any powerbanks strap to my body especially head cause I do not want to injure my spine and I do not want to have extra magnetic field radiating my brain all tho it sound like my brain is pretty radiated cause I've wrote whole elaborate about the way I am charging my headset 😂
Sounds like you have a great system that’s working well for you! That should prevent the battery from degrading.
Thank you for the tip about placing the magnetic charging piece inside the charging station (at the connection point) and not attaching to your headset! I really don't like sticking proprietary adapters to my headset as I like to keep all my charging options open and may eventually get a different charging stand. #assassin32vr

Great Video. I installed my charger with almost no problems. Everything is working fine except that the indicator light for one of my controllers isn’t on. I checked the positioning of the contacts on the battery and it seems to be correct. Any suggestions?
Does it also charge Bobovr strap battery? Or how does that would work ?
@@analiroman It doesn’t charge the battery on any head strap, it just charges the Quest 3 so you would need a separate charge cord for the battery.

Could it be possible to drill a hole on the back support to allow for a charging cable to pass through to the detachable battery?
Yep, that would absolutely work. You’d end up with two separate plugs, one for the dock, and the other for the battery. If they put a usb-c port on the back you’d be able to run a short cord from the dock to charge a battery strap at the same time as the headset on the dock. Either way, you’re in the drawing!! 👍🤞

Love the design. One thing I wish all the docks(except Meta offical) would do or at least companies that make grips make them available to work with them. Knuckle straps, or Silicone straps(Doesn't work with Meta official) just add pins whenever these 3rd party companies make them. I hate to take the grips off and on just to charge the controller's.

100%, the first manufacturer that gets this done well will have a license to print money. We should be able to have knuckle grips that work with a charging dock and accessories like golf clubs and gun stocks.
Mine only lights up green for my q3… even when the battery is low…
@@Tlowe5768, hm, so you don’t know if you’re actually fully charged until you take it off the charger. You could put the Quest to sleep instead of turning it off then watch the lights on the Quest to get you by.
If it’s important to you I would 100% contact them or attempt a return.
@@Assassin32VR looks like it was how it I had it plugged it, I’ve been using a ucb to usb power protector with about 8 ports and they are each taking up a button load of watts from each other for instance my charging dock for my battery should be running at 30W’s it’s only running at 9w, anyways I unplugged the cable and replaced it was a ucb to ucb and plugged it into a regular surge protector and now all lights are orange
@Tlowe5768 suhweet!! I’m glad it worked out. I have a gaming laptop so there is a limited number of USB inputs. I use a USB hub with a ton of stuff plugged in. Sometimes I get screwy results.
@@Assassin32VR yeah it’s still sensitive, I can’t just drop it on, I have to wiggle it, but that could be because I put a different interface on it or I’m using the s3 pro battery pack I dunno…

@@chrisowens6161 I’m always surprised that manufactures can’t figure that out. Also, the first manufacturer that comes out either an all in one system to charge the headset, battery strap, and controllers which grips, and have the grips work with a gunstock and putter will have a license to print money.

#assassin32vr Looks like a very useful product, I’m not sure I would use one though due to limited desk space. Maybe it would be possible to have some sort of wall mount, if it did I might consider this or something similar. The controller charging would be very convenient though as I often begin to play and receive a notification saying one or both of my controllers are low on battery or dead.
One of my favorite part of this decide that I failed to mention is how small the footprint is. The way they made the controllers sit inside means the footprint is smaller than a Quest 3 headset! You’re in the drawing!

This might be a good option for you because there isn’t really a negative since you don’t have to use the controller charging. Of course you’re paying for an option you’re not using but maybe if it goes on sale? Either way, you’re in!
