I guess to keep hearing it, hopefully at some point it sticks! I suppose it was always unrealistic to believe just quote unquote doing everything right, proper decisions meant you would avoid struggle! I mean did she say the Buddhists say struggle is part of life!! There is no such thing as avoiding it!

lyanla is an example of wisdom hard earned. As someone once told me, “you can’t short-circuit life.” I believe one has to go through the journey and process of life through struggle, grief and hardship to truly realize life’s rewards and wonders through work - always ongoing - to reach peace, calm, acceptance, compassion, understanding and, most of all, thankfulness, even for the struggle.
Still learning and thankful for this conversation.

Iyanla is an amazing person! Thanks for bringing her on your show. Your whole situation with CNN and trying to help your brother caused you a lot of struggle and pain. However, every day, you are demonstrating a tremendous amount of inner strength and choosing to heal and find peace within yourself. Your ability to forge ahead on a path of optimism is truly inspiring. Thank you for sharing your journey to focus on the important things in life - family, integrity and being true to yourself and others around you.

Lyanla Vanzat is a great mentor, teacher, therapist, coach…on & on…She explains so well, such a way that it makes the struggles almost like it’s only one thing of life that we cannot avoid & here the WHYS & the STAR…. We need to reason ourselves & to reset & to learn how to handle life’s situations.
Though I have many common points with Lyanla, not being worthy, slow learner & self experience ….etc…
I come from a different culture & generation & I only made it by self managing struggles & everything in my life, coming at me.
I was 33 when by experiencing ONE independent action I proved to myself that I didn’t need to depend of my father or men to be me.
Though, unlike Lyanla, I cannot talk about how to do anything, could’ve never been a teacher because I self taught everything I am, the hard way, and I always felt that nobody could help me & I was right, because my background is so based on life battles & fights that I won or lost, that just hearing friends or neighbors telling me … « tell me if you need anything or if I can do anything for you »…. Just this suggestion was painful to me… because my sufferings were so much above….trying to heal myself….nobody could even be in my mind …
I am going to listen to this Lady a second time, because there’s nothing that she said I would disagree with….She only brought back to me, a lot of my passed life stories & history and all the reasons that made me strong & confident when I knew to be hypersensitive in silence.
Thank you Chris, i need to hear this interview twice…🤣… because either I am slow or because I need to weigh all the depths & words of your guest. Bravo Chris & thank you.
I have a lot of respect for Lyanla, because from hard & un surmontable, by experience, she explains how reversible & positive situations can turn into & the more we practice it, the easier it is to handle.
One other thing I caught, by you Chris mentioning your strong sisters …. The mothers were either making very strong daughters or the mothers were a strong role model to their daughters…?
Which always was the difference in raising boys or girls….then….which is what has to change in the generations to come.
Father’s love should raise up strong males , when mother’s Love should raise up sensitivity & objectivity to women & Family….
    Bravo Chris.🇫🇷🇺🇸🐯

Thanks for having Iyanla on your show Chris. Watching you two chat about struggle, a man and a womyn, talking "together" about struggle and suffering, collaborating and sharing openly and honestly was deeply impactful. I noticed Iyanla, also mentioned the challenges that "competition" is causing in connection to self and others. Sadly, it is pushed, rewarded and revered. An old construct, I suspect ;) Looking forward to more of your videos on struggle and learning tools to help live in this world more authentically , from an alpha male perspective and transformative place. Onward.

    Chris,
This was amazing! Ms. Iyanla Vanzant is an amazing woman. A PERSON'S CHOICE is the most POWERFUL GIFT We have....
TOO MANY PEOPLE have CHOSEN evil in the face of the new DEMON OF HATE as it replaces FEAR.
I believe it is the love of Jehovah AND the FEAR of the WHITE DRAGON asking me, "What do you NEED, Child?", AND the acceptance of the HOLY SPIRIT despite the fear is my STRUGGLE and my BEAUTIFUL JOURNEY.

It helps me and I also can imagine how many men it will help as well. She is spot on about that. This man is still in so much pain. I'm sure that it has a lot to do with the fact that he did not bring this life situation upon himself, but in service to his elder brother, and no matter, how much he loves his brother, his brother's action, reverberated into Chris' life and brought down his fairytale into a nightmare. Chris, you are going to be alright. God will not leave you nor forsake you. There is a sweetness and a calm when you surrender to the chaos that grief (loss of your job) and loss (everything that you associated with the loss of your job.) You will be a better and a stronger man when these storm clouds pass, like everything in life, they are there for just a season, although it may feel like a lifetime.

Hi Chris, I'm currently living and practicing reaching for STAR and I'm sharing that journey on my channel (warts and all). I just separated from my husband (soul mate), he has stage 4 cancer, I've lived with chronic illness since I was 11, we live in separate airbnbs, sold his life insurance to sustain ourselves through this. Still, I am seeing all of it as an opportunity to learn and grow-not all the time, but it's the general point of view.
I've decided to share what I'm going through because I think too much of our "darkness" is considered shameful or weak when the truth is, life is ALL and if we just shared the truth of what we experience, the world would be a better place. I'm sharing to heal myself of course, but also, to give permission to others to feel what they're feeling and maybe even open up to others themselves.

Thanks Chris & Gratitude to Sister Iyanla. Yes, hiding, and not expressing the struggle as I recently discovered from a friend who has an advanced cancer diagnosis. Having to cover herself, not showing her vulnerability. Lessons learnt that have not yet been defrocked. Mental, emotional, psychological and physical impact causes additional stresses on the body, mind & spirit. How can some of us ‘unlearn’ this. Wonderful visit.

When Chris was going through his struggle, I had faith that he was going to be alright. He already had a foundation as an Attorney and he had a Family, which was his strength and encouragement. Chris was not ever going to fail...He was only going through a Transition. Only the haters thought he would fail or wanted him to fail. Family and Love is important and he has that.

    through with pain, and
    being sick. You were still

    Just when I thought it couldn’t get better. . . 😝
I was thinking a few days ago, “I wonder if Chris would ever have Iyanla on his show. Noooooo. . . I don’t think he would.” Well, HE DID THAT! 😂
Honestly, struggle and suffering has made me stronger. I needed it because I was sheltered for a large part of my life. . .and faithless as well. For me I came to realize that the struggle was a test of my faith. The more I thought, why me? I’m a good person, this shouldn’t be happening, how long will this go on? My desire to rationalize my struggle made it harder. Eventually I had to think differently. “You’re not special, (everyone has a struggle.) This isn’t happening because you’re a bad person. This is you’re test, to make you stronger. What is the lesson? Learn from it. And know that you will get through it.” But it took a lot of trials and failures to learn that. Now my faith is stronger, (not perfect.) But because of it. . . I do not struggle as hard. Men really do need to be more open about their struggles. Awesome session Chris. . .Thank You!😊

This was fantastic. Chris, I’m not sure how to say this, but you have always given me hope and comfort in knowing there are a few good straight men out there. I dunno… somehow I believe you would be that one cool dude who would stand up for me and who I could be comfortable around. It's not weird at all. We all should be able to be our true selves, in all its ugliness and triumph. Imagine a world where we can be openly vulnerable without being labeled. Especially men, like Iyanla referenced. It would make people more empathetic and
      foster a much better society.

This was such a beautiful and special episode. I just lost my best friend and boyfriend before years. I thought everything was fine. I’ll work that morning and then just never came home. We just signed or re-signed a lease here and my rent has doubled. I cannot afford this place on my own, but I’m in a binding lease. I am heartbroken. I am devastated. I am lost. The thought, and the trauma of having to get a roommate in my 40s scares the shit out of me, especially since I had a roommate when I first moved to Florida who stole every single thing that I’ve ever owned down to baby pictures. I’ve had terrible experience is here in Florida. But I can relate to Iyanla when she was talking about Whole foods. We always went to Whole Foods together and tonight. I could hardly keep it together in there. I don’t know how to heal this pain.

It can happen I just found an a great roommate she is so easy to get along with and has even and help me try to find a new job. She’s traveled all over the country and just relocated to the state that I live in. I’m sorry for your loss but it will get better just take it a day at a time. I remember being in a serious relationship and getting my heart broken like that. I was very very young at the time but the only thing that kept me sane was working; Keeping my mind busy on other things and working a lot!!!

I adore you Chris and appreciate you and admire you. I also really believe that this is exactly where you are going to live your highest and best life, while continuing to be in the media.
