Reading is a such a powerful tool we have as language learners. I've read 6 books in English, 'cause it's my target language and I can say I really like it. I wanna give a great tip here. If you can't find an appropriate book for you, you can use chatGPT. Ask it to write stories in whatever language you learning and tell him your current level. It writes really kind of interesting and small stories that you can read and hone your reading skills. Make sure that you make some notes, btw I found that you shouldn't write down words in isolation. THE KEY POINT IS that you should capture sentences or idioms or something else that you understood and LIKED and you wanna say that sentence in your spoken language. Of course if you want to learn new vocab, you can extract sentences with new words. btw if you don't know any word, you can ask chatGPT about its definition and usage in that context. consistency is a key I believe =) Thanks Tanya, I've been watching you since October and your lessons are helpful! You tell us to try and tell a story and then rememer words in context. What if we do not know the words? Will it not be furstrating for us? Please, tell me your experience about it.
Hi Tanya. Lists of words doesn't work too much because there are some words in English with different meanings. I agree with you that it's much better to increase the vocabulary finding the new words in context. e.g. The man went into the store so abruptely, that gave me the impression of he was escaping from the police.
