    Here in Brazil, high-five means 'wait', unless people are close to each other and both hands strike together (palm to palm).
    It's very common when two people are far from each other but they still can see each other and one of them say "come here" (using gesture) and the other rises the palm up in the air just to indicate that he/she will go just when the thing he/she is doing is finished.

      Very interesting. That gesture here when we are far apart stop. For wait we would hold up one finger in a similar movement. I think the different gestures around the world are so, so interesting!

    Today I learned that Italians have more than 250 specific hand gestures to communicate non-verbally ...
    So I asked my German friend if they had anything like it in Germany ...
    He said they have one but they haven't been allowed to use it since 1945 ...

    Teacher Tanya, thank you again. As always very useful story. I'm your fan. I'd like to ask you for something. Would it be possible for you put on your videos the transcription of your words. It would be awesome study your videos offline, listening and reading many times. But the subtitles online show up when we are online. And not always I'm online.

    Hi Tanya, Susana from Argentina. About the gestures there are two not usual here to say mee to and to ask for a beer. I think children learn easily dirty words and gestures even the sexual ones. It is very common to obserb that when they are playing. A question Tanya what means must when it iis not used as a modal. As a matter of fact, I listened to you saying must at the video of backpackers. Besides i found this in some written texts. Muchas gracias y adelante con el estudio de español. Beso grande.

      Great observations. I find noticing how children learn and pick things up from adults and the world around them to be fascinating. Can you give me an example of where you have heard must in the context you mention?

    • @susanaceliamoyano4077
      @susanaceliamoyano4077 ปีที่แล้ว

      ...where i have heard must? in your video retelling a story about bacpackers. You said something that you like too much, as going bacpacking. Then you used must", from my point of view it means that is the most agreable experience on the matter.l only know must as a modal. Thanks.@@EnglishCoach3Ts
