Love that Death Guard!
Morty is amazing, that ignore modifiers ability is great. Ignoring all the negative modifiers is dope, don't care about aoc, -1 to hit and wound, damage modifiers, movement debuffs.... and that new -1 bs/ws in contagion range is huge when things are engaged or you smoke/cloud of Flys. Death guards back on the menu for me.
They’ve established in the update that an attack’s characteristics are different than the weapon/model characteristics. May not affect -1 damage or anything that directly affects the attack.
Still quite useful though.
@artkewl03 can you link that please?
@@joshuaadams3811 It’s in the Rules Commentary 1.1 that you can access on the war hammer community downloads page.
“Attack’s Characteristics: When making an attack, that attack is considered to have the same characteristics and abilities as the weapon making the attack. If any modifiers apply to the characteristics or abilities of an attack, those changes do not apply to the weapon it is made with, nor do they apply to any other attacks made with that weapon.”
@@joshuaadams3811 On page 17 of the commentary, under “Modifying Characteristics”, they list models, weapons, and attacks as separate things.
Morty’s and Trajann’s ability is: “…..you can ignore any or all modifiers to the characteristics of models in that unit and/or any roll or test made for models in that unit….”
It states nothing about attacks or weapons specifically.
@@joshuaadams3811 On page 18, it further shows that attacks, models, and weapons are different things. They also throw units into the mix.
“Ignoring Modifiers: ….When a rule states ‘you can ignore any or all modifiers’, it will list the characteristics, rolls or tests that you can ignore modifiers for….”
The lack of weapons or attacks and only models being mentioned lends itself to -1 damage still taking effect, as well as -1 AP if I’m not mistaken.
The Termagant's Skulking Horrors is D6", NOT 6"
Did you add -1 toughness? You get it additionally to the new plague for the detachment.
Pretty sure the Hormagaunts also have the surge move. It should be any "Endless Multitudes" unit.
There are my two armies. I can't wait to see them both in action ❤
What terrain did you guys use in this vid?
does the gants surging into the middle not stop area denial turn 1 because Bridger scores it at the end of his turn and he has to prevent opponent from being within 6?
@56:00 Had the same thing in Texas
Someone please tell me where that terrain is from it looks gorgeous
Why did typhus get to use his psychic attack on the parasite on the tyranids turn?
Leave it to Bridger to pick literally the worst of the new faction rule lol. GG boys
that was a giant OOF
Yeah like I understand his logic but it was never going to matter with the norns.
2hrs in and it hasn't come up once I think
Saved me 3 hours, thanks
To be fair I don't think having all 3 options would have done much.
Was definitely the right choice, and came up several times
Fun fact - Morty can shoot both his weapons, because he is a monster. If you read the pistol rule, both vehicles and monsters can should pistols and other weapons at the same time
This was helpful thanks
People saying -1 in bs and ws is the worst one is just crazy it is in most cases the autotake. Together with Cloud of flies or paired with Typhus -1 to hit in a big fat terminator unit it can be very effective.
i really love both these armies but my heart and the rest of my biomass belongs to the tyranids
Did they CHANGE towering? I can’t find it online.
Poxwalkers are lethal
I dont feel all the battle shock tests were made. Could have turned the tide.
Im pretty sure OC can be reduced to zero with contagion. Page 17 of rules commentary says OC can never be reduced to below 0.
Painting a Hellbrute and two Oblits (BL)while listening to/watching this before bedtime for bonzos. Go Death Gaurd! LET THE INSECTS FEAST UPON THE PESTILENCE THAT SHALL BE THEIR END!!!
Lol.😂
Can someone please explain me how the Boilblight Strat would work? Lets say i have my Drone get close to an enemy unit and i declare it , will for example a unit of 3MBH get the heavy bonus on their meltas vs that unit?
So long as 1 unit targeted by the strat is in range enemy units shot in that contagion range gain heavy and ignores cover rules
In lore, wouldn't nurgle be a solid counter to the tyrranid doom? Rotting out all the hive fleets?
In theory no but the last time they fought it was on a paradise world and what ended up happening is they both plagued and poisoned the air so much that both sides died and turned into a liquid pool. Only thing left was the hive fleet itself. The fleet tried to send a tendril down to collect and the second it entered the atmosphere the tendril immediately shriveled up because of how toxic and diseased the air is from both sides so the hive fleet was forced to go hungry. Tyranids won that fight but obviously in the perspective of war overall Nurgel won because most of his forces will come back where as the Tyranids lost biomass which for them is bad. However to be fair I think it was a hive fleet that's not designed to fight chaos like hive fleet Kronos is. If I had to guess the hive fleet I would guess Medusa because of the fact venomthropes were being used a lot which is pretty on brand for Medusa which specializes in poison and parasitic attacks. Keep in mind any hive fleet can do parasites and poisons it's just that Medusa fleet really loves that particular fighting style.
Termagant reaction moves are D6, not 6 I thought
You're correct. The Termagant's Skulking Horrors is D6", NOT 6"
I began to watch... at 12:03, what's that mouvement phase ? You can't do this upon the roof of a building :/
He needed to move down each floor unless he advanced and got a great roll. Maybe I missed it.
@@SWARMXIII Theire are 3 floors, each one at 3', so 9', a PM move of 5, he needed to move of 16 for this move... ^^
Honestly with DG, you’ve kinda GOT to start something off the board. Jon pinned them down early, and with PBCs you can focus the units in the opp’s deployment zone to make a hole for them.
Papa bless! 🪰🪰🪰
1975pts on the Death guard side.
gw has specifically said u can use gladius lol.
Since everyone has been wanting a toughness buff the -1 bs/ws is what we all came here to see. That or worsening the save characteristic. Wasted opportunity here in my opinion sorry guys. Enjoyed otherwise though!
Still not worth 165p imo, actually with the pointdrops everwhere I belive dropping the crawlers for a real actual army is a better option now.
MORTY AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
lets go DG
my Amries for this edition will be only Tyranids and Necrons. Have Deathguard, Genstealer Cult and Blood Angels as well but will stick to only a pair of codizes.
You guys should re-read the biovore rules
i clicked the button
I feel so pressured to like 😬
Heavy handed? I think not. The game is in serious distress big changes where certainty called for. There is thousands of games and very clear statistics to read. I would rather ask is it enough? Remember the edition will only last a couple of years and there is alot of issues with 10th
so weird dance want part of our curriculum lol *CA guy
remember according to the new rules you can not Overwatch for free unless it specifies Overwatch :)
Death Guard all the way!
Love some death guard content 🤢🤮☠️
12:10 and 12:52 that movement made on the blightlords terminators who move 4" as if they fly down to floor is not done legal. You must measure the vertical distance and move downwards. I bet that diagonal movement from the roof is more than 4 inches.
A lot of times, they will put models on the top floor just so the viewer can see them. That’s probably the case for this.
@@justinmcmurtrey9117 once they are deployed the game start and no after. If they want to show case the army just can film them on armies overviews.
as they have a Birdseye camera view the models on top are actually on the bottom floor so the viewers can see where everything is
to bad it's the least interesting one..
At the -1 to OC choice i stopped watching
Not a single cultist from DG 🥲 no 7 man units and 3 crawlers they only came done 10 points still not worth imo bring a present for the love of nurgle lol
