Why do they keep calling signing a player to a long term deal a "loophole"? It's not like you needed to do some serious digging to realize that a contract spread out over a longer period of time results in a lower average annual salary.

Potter and the backroom staff are now facing an unenviable task on integrating all these players for weeks to come. And there’s no certainty that he’ll stay until the next season.

In addition to the super inflated transfer fee, super long high-paying contract can be a huge long term problem later. Who will have to work hard if you have 8 years of high-paying contract? How this will impact the team mates without those high-pay contracts? If those expensive players cannot be integrated into the team, due to the contract, not just they are devaluated but what is more no team will take them as they have super long expensive contract. I cannot find a quicker way to destroy a team. If Chelsea cannot get EPL and Champion League titles for a few continuous years, the ship will be sinking.
