Having children in film is fine as long as they are aware of what it is they’re doing, why they’re doing it, and most importantly if they want to do it at all. You’re either protected by your parents and grow up like Zendaya, or exploited and grow up like Amanda Bynes.

I saw this in theatres. It was the most quiet screening i have ever attended.

It is a really fresh touch to the horror films, the script is really good and even thoug the characters barely say something, its easy to love them and identify with them
I absolutely couldn't stand this movie my first time hearing of it I wanted nothing to do with it. I watched and I was like yeah its ok I guess. Then I rewatched it with s different mindset and I loved it. For them to express so much without many words is pretty awesome.
There’s lots of dialogue. Just because you don’t speak ASL out loud, doesn’t mean it isn’t dialogue. It is a language, just a different language than you speak or understand.
I feel you on the 4 year old. The first thing I thought about was he shouldn't have been alone in the back following them.
But he's probably done this trip 30 times, this time it didn't happen

I love that, generally, reactions to this film are funnier because there’s this inner need to be quiet while watching and the “subdued” scared reactions are friggin hilarious

They can't just blow them up, their armors are too tough. Only when those things on their head open up are they vulnerable. To get explosives and what not they would have to move from where they were. They most likely didn't wanna risk it
the USA army failed and died, it's not two adults and three kids that are gonna solve this problem haha

Tapping into their resonant frequency is what the girl’s cochlear implant coincidentally did, which is the sound that certain matter shakes when near. The only sounds that stun them are those of 1400-1900Hz, which can be accessed with a violin or piano (A6 key on piano), or the ear piece of the deaf girl.

This is Art in a movie form. John Krasinski did a phenomenal job with this one. He was so dedicated to his craft that they really casted an actual deaf girl and they all thought themselves sign language. Having so few dialogue while still make the movie so solid in story is so hard to do. You rarely see them talk but you fully understood the flow of the story without even missing a detail. Just how can you come up with that? Please do the part 2!

ASL is dialogue. It’s a different language than any other other, but it’s still two or more people talking and communicating.

Emily Blunt looks so attractive in that movie! she's a great actress, her talent really shows in the scene when she gives birth.
John krasinski wrote this story himself and directed... when they're son got taken you gotta remember it was only 89 days in. everyone was adapting to this new world. No one knew all the rules yet.
There's no way I'm gonna leave them unattended when I know there's 3 confirmed monsters roaming around my area.
I will bring them too. Especially the little one.

Millicent simmonds performance in this movie is exceptional.....such a wonderful actress.
Millicent Simmonds, the daughter in this, is actually deaf and taught the rest of the actors the Sign Language they used. The first time I saw her she was in Andi Mack
He is also the lead in Jack Ryan, another really good show.
This movie series is one of the best ever, and the second one is even better I can't wait for a quiet place: day one
Emily Blunt is an incredible actress, the bath scene and the contractions deserves an oscar!

I used to fumigate (using chemicals to kill bugs and make food safe to consume) corn/rice bins with my father when I was a teenager, he never let me go in the bins, me and my brother would only help Tarp and fill canvas sacks with bromide. Every few months we'd lose someone who would sink in rice or corn, if the conditions are right it becomes quick sand, super sad and scary.

There is no way they could have gone to get the medicine separated . so many things could happen and they would maybe have to rearrange and move somewhere else. The idea here is that this thing hit without any warning and killed everyone little by little (or lots by lots) so they don’t even know if the abandoned stores actually have any medicine, so they literally have to walk around and look for it. It could be weeks of traveling, so no, they couldn’t have gone separately.
Yes, the four-year-old walking by himself in the back is a little irresponsible, but the movie would not have any sort of story and conflict if the family did not carry that death with them while we were watching.

Even if it wasn’t weeks, it could be days of walking. What I meant is that separating for more than a few hours was not safe, because things could go to shit and they might need to find another shelter and there was no communication so they had to do it together.
Micheal bay only produced. John Krasinski wrote and directed and acted in it. He was looking for a female actress for the characters wife, showed it to his wife and she said I need this role and he was like aight

It’s the details that will kill you. You can’t trust the child in the store, but you couldn’t trust them back home. You have a lot of supplies to get, you need more than one pair of arms or it’s more and more trips taken and each trip is a chance of dying. Build a soundproof room. But do it without making any noise? That would be incredibly difficult. And at the end, “soundproof” rooms are only sound dampening. Build explosives. Again, do it while making no noise. Even the things like her hearing aids as a weapon. Any of these things they are using for electricity. Any flashlights, etc They need batteries. Batteries have a shelf life. Even if you found every battery in your city, eventually after 5 years or so simply sitting on the shelf, they don’t work. And there is no way to make more without making noise. We take for granted just how much noise we make, simply existing in this world.

In reference to how long it takes for a woman to deliver after her water breaks, it is NOT immediate! That's one of mistakes movies make. At the time the water breaks until the baby is delivers takes HOURS!!!! Trust me. I've birthed a child and for me it took hours.
Seeing this in the theaters, this was the worst movie to buy snacks. 🤣 U could hear every crunch of popcorn.. every slurp of a drink. It was kind of a buzzkill
Glad you enjoyed this movie! A Quiet Place 2 is also really good and has most of the original cast along with Cillian Murphy and Djimon Hunsou. I just saw, A Quiet Place, Day one and though it is good, it is my least favorite of the 3 - though I do really love Lupita Nyong'o and Joseph Quinn - the story is just a little thin.
More backpacks, more supplies coming home. Less chances of kids getting into trouble when you’re not around. Kids can’t be left alone for five minutes without getting into trouble. Better to take them with you instead of leave it all on one person while you’re away. And that would mean John (Lee) has to go in multiple supply runs a week instead of once a week. They were tired, maybe got a bit too comfortable, and all made mistakes. Lee carrying the older boy, the mom carrying a bag of supplies rather than having the boy in her arms or walking in front of her, the daughter for giving the son the rocket back.
To be frank with you sir, I’ve been told labour is different for every woman. And, although Emily Blunts scene was amazing and gruesome real child birth I’m told is far more gruesome all mothers and surrogates are soldiers it ain’t no joke. Great reaction Ta Ta from 🇬🇧

It's a little known fact. The story was ripped off a book that started production on its own movie before they started production in this movie. The movie, based on the book, was released after this and was called a rip-off when, in reality, a quiet place is the rip-off that took less time to film and produce than the source film.
The book and movie a quiet place ripped off is the silence. The silence is nowhere near as being good as a quiet place.
it's pointless to praise a film that quickly became a modern classic. I only hope that the new third film, which we dreamed of, will not turn out to be another Hollywood idiocy. The advertising trailers were not particularly impressive..
