Introducing ‘Wake Me Up When September Ends‘ by Green Day drum lesson from the 'Andy Guitar Band Programme’.
Having linked up with TH-cam guitar maestro Andy Guitar, we’ve put together a series of songs showing you how to play along with a live band!
There’ll be 21 songs in this series and each song has an accompanying full drum play through video, which you can view here: • Drum Covers and full drum lesson which you can view here: • Drum Song Lessons breaking down the major sections so that you can learn the parts and then play along to the live band version.
Also for all you guitarists and bassists out there make sure you check out Andy's guitar & bass tutorials over on his channel: / andycrowley
Well I hope you enjoy watching, learning and playing along to these videos… If you do remember to like, share and subscribe, and please comment me if you have any questions at all!
There will be a new drum cover or drum lesson each Sunday at midday so make sure you subscribe to keep up to date!
Massive thanks,
Thom....now let's hit some DRUMS!

These play along lessons are some of the best ways to learn i've found online. Real shame they're not known by more people. Really helpful! Hope to see more of these someday.
Thanks for your kind words, and that really means a lot that you think so! I'm trying to make it as available to people as possible, but every little helps as Tesco would say! haha thanks again for watching!
Good song for a new drummer like myself. Easy to follow instructions. Thanks!
Awesome, thank you!
Aaaaa thank you for being my online teacher🥹🥹🥹 I’m a beginner and can play the electric drum only for 4 hours for this song. Easy to understand✨ Keep making videos, Thom!
That’s awesome feedback thanks keep it up!
Really good video. You slow it down, give good instructions. Not many do this. Thanks
Glad you liked it ,thanks means a lot to hear that it helps
Pls never stop doing these they are so helpful
Arrr thanks so much, I’m super glad it’s actually helpful as that’s my main aim so thanks for the feedback
Good stuff... Well done!!!
Yeahhhh
I am a beginner and this is infact "the best" lesson compared to others. Please keep doing more ..... the way you explain is just amazing. More power to you brother. Keep Rocking !!!!
Wow mega feedback thanks!
thank you
Thanks you!
Thanks so much for this! It's easy to understand for a beginner and it's great to be able to play along with the band. You rock! 🤘
Wickedness!
Not a drummer but I’m very great at figuring out how to play it. Idk how but I can easily tell what they’re doing as terms of drums. I can easily keep track on when they’re doing drum roll parts, hitting the symbols etc. most of the time what when I look up The drum cover I am 99% correct.
I’m always hitting my knees like a drum set and my coworkers can tell what music I’m listening to
Fair play man, keep it up!
First time I’ve heard this session. Great stuff! Thx Thom, Peter
Yeah these are a good selection of songs too, some slightly difficult but all definitely achievable!
Tre Cool is a Zildjian artist
I believe so yes, I would try to select cymbals (if you can) based on the sound rather than companies, however saying that I would recommend Sabian cymbals every time (slightly biased endorsee! hahahah)
first...oh awesome lesson also!
thanks man!
This was hard when you don't have a physical drug kit. Only have an eltronic . So not sure what the equivalent of what he's playing is
You can substitute the tambourine the another sound source, all the other sounds you should have available on the kit?
@@ThomMillsDrums on electronics hitting the rim doesn’t really sound like what it should, instead it sounds more like a quieter version of hitting the drum
I’ve been stuck on the chorus for so long, what is that pattern. I’ve tried slowing it down
So kicks on 1, 1+, 3, 3+ and snare backbeats on 2 & 4 with additional snare hit on 2a
Also crash cymbal is playing the quarter notes throughout
What cymbals do you use?
Hi Connor, I use Sabian cymbals, all artisan range apart from crash which is a HHX and ride HHX legacy.

Right on!
A bit controversial but I agree
