I started wood working hobby this year, in Feb. I made and sold 31 lanterns over the weekend so far. Mostly Family and Friends. I made 24 today, painting those tomorrow. This is amazing hobby and it pays for itself so far. I also made cutting boards and charcuterie boards over the summer and it was a delight.

Welcome to the craft. It’s a lot of fun. I haven’t tried cutting boards yet. Maybe I should.

One of the better videos I have seen on making this project. The money breakdown was good. Nicely done. I will be subscribing.

Good job man. You’re braver than I am. Thanks for the video. I like your process. I made two of my own templates last year for these and was over it by the time I got finished lol.

Mr Wallace, thanks for the three templates I ordered. The buying process was easy and fast. I just got back from the Orange Home Improvement Store and the journey starts today. Amazon has the double-sided tape, compression router bit coming today. I also ordered an aluminum router table insert to get me started properly with the router. The table will be in today as well. The templates you make are meticulously fabricated and I encourage everybody to order them if they're on the fence about buying them. Thanks again my friend, Navy Mark

This is awesome! Can I give one marketing tip? Frankenstein and Dracula are characters from novels that were written in the 1800’s. This means they are in the public domain and nobody can sue you for copyright infringement if you use those names to sell your product. This is also true of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, and the Invisible Man. The Wolfman might be a term the Universal Studios has a copyright claim on, but they can’t claim ownership of the concept, or the name, of werewolves in general. Mummies (and the idea of “the curse of the mummy”), werewolves, vampires, ghosts, and zombies, are all concepts that have existed for hundred, if not thousands, of years.
Oh! But, in the original novel, Victor Frankenstein becomes obsessed with alchemy, and the Universal Studios movie was the first depiction of using electricity to bring the monster back to life. So they might sue you for copyright infringement if your Frankenstein monster has neck bolts, and you call it Frankenstein, as those are seen as places to attach jumper cables. But if you want to fight for freedom of expression, and fight the lawsuit, AND counter sue, you might actually be able to win those suits. I’m not a lawyer. Talk to a lawyer if you want to go that route. But just know that the characters of most classic horror movies are in the public domain.

I make fences that go around Christmas trees. Take your cutoffs and drill a hole 1/2"down on each end.Stack them log cabin style ,run a piece of Guy Wire through your holes twist a small wad and tap it into the wood .I go 7 sticks tall ,Eight feet goes around a tree but two Six footers gives more room presents or decorations.I make mine out of used pallets, deck stain at cost of maybe 25 cents.I have made a hundred a year for over 50 years to help pay for Christmas.

Try adding CA glue drops in your glue up. It clamps boards in place and then you add your brads. I add a bottom to my jack o lanterns, so my backs are shorter than the side and front. I use recycled fence boards instead of buying them.

Just a suggestion-use tree branches instead of dowel rod. They look cool and you might be able to get the branches for nothing.
