And also, what is the core made of? I’ve used a 3/4in birch lumber core but don’t know if that’s good - I liked that it was lighter weight than a birch with “natural” core. Lol thanks again!!

Stop using inches, fingernails and pube's hairs. All the countries in the world apart from the hillBilly from the USA use the meter, and you too. Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, all use the meter. The UK officially adopted the meter in 1969-1971. In the USA (not the US, but the USA), NASA and many "American" companies who produce mechanical parts use the meter, hence you can very well speak English using the meter, the SI, rather than your body parts

If you want to do charity, you could "include" the stone-age system. But not as your first measurement system

I also use glue, so it's very strong

You’ll need to sand the edges of the wood wherever it’s been cut.
