Who did you want as an Echo Fighter? I kinda wish we ended up getting a 3rd DLC Pass with just echos, no stages or anything fancy just maybe 5 or 6 echos. All downloads in the description.
Who is your favorite echo mod ?
Either Midbus or Dark Bowser as a Bowser echo.
I've had the same thought before, an echo pass would be really cool and easy to develop. I've always wanted an echo for Lucario that doesn't have aura, just base damage that's about half aura. I love his kit and movement but really don't like the mechanic.

I’m still really surprised we didn’t get Octoling, Ms. Pac-Man, or Shadow. Sakurai made such a big deal about how Echoes would allow them to add a lot of characters they wouldn’t be able to otherwise, and then they only had like three of them.
I don't understand how Nintendo thought Jeanne being a color scheme for Bayonetta was good enough. Literal definition of an echo fighter

I do wish we got more Echo Fighters in Ultimate; it feels like we got surprisingly few considering the rebranding they got in this game.
I still can't process why they didn't add Jeanne in ultimate, they made so much emphasis in echoes but didn't include the literal echo for Bayonetta (just a sidenote, but they also could've added more bayo music for her stage, they had so many great tracks!)
It’s a shame that we didn’t get Ms. Pac Man in the game! She’s basically the very first Echo Fighter!
And here lies the main reason we don't often get good official crossovers like smash. Too many companies trying to get a buck out of using their character.

I said this once and I'll say it again. The fact that Shadow wasn't an echo fighter despite him not being showing for most of the speculation period is still pain.
He would made an EASY echo fighter and gave some more representation for the Sonic Series. Maybe next game.
Sega's reps are for the companys they own in my headcannon with Sonic being a rep for Sega, Beyanetta being a rep for Platinum Games, and Joker being a rep for Atlus
Some Echoes also have that one trait that sets them apart from the fighter they're based on. For Shadow, it could have been cool if they included him with a teleport for an up-B, similar to Palutena's teleport. Better for recovery, worse than the spring for combo's
Shadow deserves more than echo fighter.
I know Alph is supposed to represent the new, more recent Pikmin 3 (and deluxe), but it would be cool to see Louie as an official alt as well. A character from every Pikmin game that way

As usual these mods are great but I love the fact that Bowser sounds like Bowser and not some monster. Wish we could get an audio change for Donkey and Diddy as well. As another poster said, how we didn’t get a Jeanne echo is beyond me…

My choices for echo fighters
- Ocarina of Time Link as an echo of Link (Stats) and Young Link (Moveset)
- Dry Bowser as an echo of Melee/Brawl Bowser
- Black Shadow as an echo of Ganondorf using his Smash 4 moveset
- Olimar should just have all the Pikmin captains as his alts like Bowser Jr.
Honnestly ? Liquid snake as an echo fighter would be so better, his final smash would be different ( Metal Gear Rex), and Maybe some Specials changed ? Like his up b being a hind D.
I'll still never understand why they even bothered to introduce echo fighters as a concept and then refuse to do anything with it. It's honestly the most underutilized idea Smash has ever come up with and was made irrelevant once they announced that the dlc wouldn't have echoes. Really stupid
Probs something to do with copyright or mayhaps devs just didn't want to do more since we already have a lot of characters anyways. I would've loved to see a lot of the characters shown off here, Roxas and Ms. Pacman for example, hey at least we have mods

Funky and Dixie as Chrom-style echos would have been great... swap the Up-B, maybe change their physics a bit, done.
im so disappointed that Nintendo introduced Echo Fighters like they would be a way to give us more characters we wont to see as cosmetic versions of fighters......then did little to nothing with it.
In hindsight, the term feels more like a way to stave off criticisms about “clone characters” “stealing slots” and all that. Don’t get me wrong, I think those criticisms were silly to begin with, but it is sad that’s all it was
@@stwbmc98 even with that fact, they could have given more with that, honestly they should have just tanked the clone complaints and not make the name change cause it needlessly made them look lazy to make a big change then do nothing with it

I can't wait for the day where adding new roster slots to this game is cracked open and we can add these guys in as actual echoes and not just skin swaps.
The concept of echos was basically thrown out within the first few months of ultimate being released
Such a shame Shadow and Dixie didn't make it into Ultimate, guess we have to wait for the next Smash

Kind of shocked and very disappointed that some of the old alternate custom moves from Sm4sh weren't used to make more echos like Protoman or even Medusa.
They finally made the shadow mod look legit
I’ll say this. I HATE that people see Roxas as an Echo Fighter for Sora. One of his most famous lines contradicts that idea, “I am ME, NOBODY ELSE!”

I will never understand why Nintendo introduced the concept of Echo Fighters, but they don't go all out with the concept. Sure, I can sorta forgive the DLC characters not getting Echo Fighters, as they weren't going to be part of the DLC packs, but what about the characters that were practically giftwrapped for the developers, and them not taking advantage of the situation?
sSif shadow would be in smash, he would probably be a echo fighter or a full on character, probably based on the Shadow the hedgehog game on the gamecube or based on sonic battle. Could be sonic battle cuz sakurai guns no likey

I feel like the whole "Echo Fighter" thing was just a waste of potential. They hyped it up big time, but when the game came out, it only ended up being used with six characters who were just glorified skins at best.

Hot take: Metal Sonic would've been a better echo fighter for Sonic than Shadow. Metal Sonic was created to be a copy of Sonic while Shadow has a more unique skill set than Sonic does.
