Theres a pretty meat mechanic with gems. Once it reaches a certain number on screen, it starts to accumulate all the xp into one singular red gem, placed into one of the four "corners" of the screen
I finally broke down and started playing VS today. I was playing it while having the video in the background and I kept playing for over 5 hours. I'm honestly not even sure how I feel about it, but I can't stop.

I had the same problem with my Deaths earlier. Ironically, they just wouldn't die.
Upgraded clock lancet (forgot the name infinity something) and la bora will do the trick
It wont even spawn more death because you'll kill the first one in less than a min.

Was starting to get bored with VS at around the time it exited early access, but watching Max get excited about all the discoveries has really rekindled my interest and made me realize why hundreds of hours of my life went into playing this game.
It's such a good game to play while listening/watching something else if you're just gold/egg farming.
I think Vampire Survivors has come a long way since early access, you should give it a try again. 😁👍🏻

Having a blast playing this on mobile, such a great game to play while on the train. It's almost criminal that this game is free on mobile. I'd be more than glad to pay for its DLCs when it finally releases here.
Also, I'm so glad the 30 minute limit exists in this game - I tried playing a hyper-endless-inverse game trying to unlock Avatar Infernas and by the time I realized it half the day was already gone.
I play in mobile, and I took time to let the ads running every time to support the dev.
@@hafirenggayuda The dev himself stated he had to make is free with ads, because otherwise the app stores don't promote the game or some shit. Whatever the trouble is exactly, it prevented him from just selling the game on the app store
@@Selnathorn some people said that people approach him to sponsor the game, but demand he add microtransaction. He don't want that, so he decided to do it himself, and it will be free (with optional ad).

Btw for anyone reading this, if you use guns or birds, then you need to unlock the Arcana called Gemini. It basically gives you 2 shadow guns and two shadow birds, which won't evolve, but will level. So essentially you get FOUR guns and FOUR birds... its just a tiny bit OP..... maybe... -.-
I have been absolutely loving this game I thought it looked cool but didn't think it was for me, but playing It changed my mind. It's an absolute blast.

I'm a little upset I was so easily persuaded to buy this game after watching Max's videos on it but I am way more happier now that I am playing said game. I wasn't expecting to enjoy it and yet here I am, loving it.
The game is like 5 bucks and on mobile is free so its not a big deal.
If it was 60-70 then you should be upset cause i happen to do that when i was younger and stupid, buying games left and right that i barely played without research on them to see if they are were for me.
Big fan Max! Keep up the amazing content!! Just a few tips about the game if you are interested! Curse health increase isn't retroactive to bosses and creatures already spawned. That's why it's always a good idea to spawn the guardians early before you start getting the curse items like tbox, which is one of the top 3 best items in the game. Tomb is by far the strongest item in the game. Upgraded guns are arguably the best weapon in the game in terms of sheer clear power since it can pierce off screen, especially if you do a 1 weapon run with it and limit break it. For chests you know will evolve a weapon, you can leave them and wait until you max level said weapon, then pick up the chest to get a forced evolution. Speaking of evolutions, the game will always evolve the first weapon you reached max level with first. These are just a few tips, and I apologize if you already knew this stuff. I'm just trying to help! Love the VS vids =)
It’s these videos that pushed me to throw $5 for the game. Completely worth it!
It only took three videos for Max to realize Gold Rings boost enemies.
I used to think axe was shit, but scythe + Bible is a great combo to keep everyone out of your vicinity. Especially combined with the crit damage arcana. That's not even mentioning the fully upgraded guns.

Yeah, there can only be so many exp gems on the screen at the time so when the limit is reached a red gem spawns that contains all the exp that woudl otherwise be lost.
@@Selnathorn Oh, I had no idea how that worked. So there's actually no way to permanently lose experience from gems despawning? They are just magically turned into a red gem containing all of their combined experience?
@@thenonexistinghero yes, that mechanic was also the keypart of the strat to kill death before the clock lance and laurel evolutions existed. As Death's health scales with your level you basically try a specific build that leaves you at level 2 until death spawns. And the second he did, you would pick up the red gem to get like 80 to 100 levels at once.
@@Selnathorn No idea how you can be level 2 with 30 minutes (I guess 15 minutes in hurry mode).
@@thenonexistinghero you needed specific characters on specific stages to pull this off. Also hurry mode was not a thing at that time

I defeated this giant bone ball with the Not-Noob Saibot guy and his slow barrage of knives.
You wanna see alot of red deaths? My record for longest time surviving is a little over 3:40:00, and I didnt even die, just gave up after my thumb hurt, I was literally swimming through at least 3 football teams of red deaths, there was no "ground" to be seen!
The amount of deeply Italian memes in this game and the fact that so much people are totally oblivious to them fucking kills me for how funny it is. Maybe through this game someone will now understand how unhinged us regular Italians are
These vampire survivors uploads are so good to have playing in a tiny window on the side while I do my schoolwork

I love fighting game content and im all for it but im not advanced enough to apreciate it fully. this is the first time I understand whats really going on and actually get the details of a gameplay lol. great stuff.
Well, Max's skill in fighting games isn't that good anymore. I think he used to be low-professional level, but now he's basically just above average for most fighting games. Exceptions are the ones he used to play a lot like SF4 and the Killer Instinct reboot.

You should have gotten the arcana XV (Disco Gold) at this point so youll get healed everytime you pick up gold, and picking up a money bag activates fever time, which youll get gold everytime you kill an enemy
This is true. Bone Zone is the gold farming map with the highest gold modifier, so getting Disco arcana not only boosts your gold farming, but gives you the most reliable healing.
I also like to combo it with Sarabande of Healing (VI) while using Peppino, more money more damage more heal.

Despite being a pixel game. I'm also hooked in playing Vampire Survivors on my android phone. The game is quite addictive.
I am going endless atm to get one of the achievements cause i only need two more and ill have them all
hyper and all that are on too except inverse
im playing as leda (or whatever its name is) with four seasons evolved, ofc the magic wand evolved it startts with, night sword after i used my 3 weapon slots (i usually only use 3 weapons) and summon night evolved
and i got 16 upgrade items atm
spellbinder, tome, bracer, crown, torona box, max hp heart, recovery heart (i forget the names of em) duplicator, candelure, spinach, stone mask, atract orb, and then the things that upgrade laruel and lancet but two of em i have banished cause they increase enemies instead of myself. im at 29 minutes and i can not see whats going on.
i should not have gotten the night sword tho cause it drains hp like crazy
i gota kill 6000 kappa and idk if ive done it or not cause i cant see any enemies lolol im damaging them offscreen and its hilarious
I also have almost 70 hours into the game...its still addicting

It's a fun game but i can't play it anymore because the game has started lagging so much, hope they fix it soon.
Whatever upgrade, permanent or not, that you get is irrelevant. It doesn't change the way you play just how fast the numbers go up.
do want to see Avatar on mach 3 speed ? fear not let me tell you how just farm gold with Queen Sigma and then spent the gold for a lot of golden eggs on Avatar then you need Wings. "to infinity and beyond !"

@Harm yep 30 mins death always gets you. Thats the addiction. You know runs will always be short. There is a way to kill death but keep playing and figure that out. Enjoy!

I managed a max cooldown build with clock lancet and laurel once. Entirely blocks death hits and permafreezes them. I don't think I did enough damage to kill one but the game did run to 60 minutes. There was 30+ Red Deaths on screen.

Crown should have priority, as it boosts your exp rate without strengthening the enemy. I know it didn’t come into play on this video but it has in others. Especially when trying to go for upgrading a lot of equipment quickly, maxing crown means you’ll max the others quicker.
Orb has advantages as well as issues. Like crown, it will level you much faster and can snag floor chicken at a greater range while you are running for your life. That being said, it can also auto grab things you may have wanted to save for later before you even see that you wandered too close.

You are able to control the directional skills (knife, white whip, etc) really well. It kind of reminds me of wave dashing from Super Smash Bros (a skill I also have not really mastered).

@@bigboogabowser4371 there is a character, a bird that comes with 2 initial birds that uses 0 slots, so you can get the white and black birds and the arcana that duplicates certain weapons, between those, the birds. So those are 6, but if you combine them at max level, you have 3 upgraded birds in 1 slot. I don’t remember the names, sry for that xD

why does he sometimes get a ton of levels all at once?
the game drops xp gems for every enemy killed. for some reason, max leaves 90% of them on the ground. theres a hard limit on the number of xp gems that the game engine can render, so the *next enemy killed after hitting this hard limit* will drop a single red gem - this despawns the earliest generated blue/green gems left on the ground, and contains all of their xp.
