Hi Fresco! I loved the video, it brought my memories back from the time I had a boat, I kept in a marina and always after the ride I was already washing the boat and cooled the engine with fresh water with the engine turned on, using Universal Ear Muff Cups for Marine Boat. All the washing of the boat I did just like you, I liked to do it myself, I'd send the people to the marina pool and wash the boat. I think you should open the engine cover and take a WD-40 bath all over the engine to remove any salt that may have lodged in the engine and lubricate the inner moving parts of the engine. This procedure will give your engines much more life without maintenance.

I will be taking my pontoon boat up the Neuse River in NC and that is really brackish water. I will be using a public boat launch to both launch and recover. There is no water faucet to hook a hose up to for at minimum an initial flushing with just plain no salt water. My thought is to have a couple gallons of mixed salt away and water and with a funnel get it down the two flush ports I have on my Suzuki 150. Once I complete the 3 1/2 to 4 hour drive home, I will go through the full de-salinization process properly.
What are your thoughts on my plan??

  • @stevewhitfield4103

You can spray your bunks with "Pam" nonstick cooking spray and your boat will slide onto the trailer easy also.

Great job Joe. Question ..when you wash the interior of the boat with fresh water is there a drain you open to flush or just a pump. What a beautiful boat, what would a boat like yours cost new or used. I believe you have 900 with the triple motors . That's a lot of horsepower, top speed? Enjoy.

@@frescochannel Love all you videos! You have a great family. Respect to you!! Flushing without the muffs and/or the motor not running may not get to all the motor. The thermostats are closed and block the passage of water since motor is cold. Thermostats open when temperature gets up and they allow water to flow. This is what I always heard from mechanics. But, what do I know? Really would love for you or someone confirm this or correct me. Un abrazo !
