Hi Glenn, interesting video. I have very little shoulder mobility due to a right shoulder that dislocates very easily due to an old injury, but I have found having the feeling of keeping my right elbow tucked in during the whole swing has improved my ball striking massively and now have gone from a slice to a draw, if anything overdrawing now being my miss. I can now also hit long irons fairly consistently which I really struggled with before.

Thank you for your comments @ozeafy. That’s great! There’s absolutely nothing wrong with tucking in the right elbow. Glad you can still do that, despite your old injury.
      Keep at it!
      Glen

Excellent video Glen about factors involved in shallowing the golf swing. I do pay a lot of attention to the folding and unfolding of my right elbow. However, I don't loose sight of the importance of a flat left wrist and a bent back right wrist in getting into a shallow position. Well Done Glen! Keep Up The Good Work!

If anyone is interested in the science behind this limited shoulder mobility, check out Larry Rinker’s channel. His teachings are based on the principles of Dr. David Wright, who says there are 3 core regions of the body - upper core, mid core and low core. If you do this test and can’t get the arm past vertical, you are almost certainly an upper core player. The vast majority of us amateurs are upper core, while nearly all tour pros are mid core and a few low core. If you’re upper core, follow the tips in this video and forget trying to swing like a tour pro. You’ll save yourself a ton of frustration.

Hey Glen. Can you do a video on fairway bunkers? I have no idea how to get my ball out of them. Cheers

excellent observations. I did the test and I can't get my elbow past vertical; I also concentrate on the flat left wrist and loaded right wrist.

Thank you for your comments Steve. Yes, thats fairly typical, so wrist angles are key!
