Sounds odd actually. I may be wrong, but it kinda sounds like a high lift cam where the duration is backed off a bit. Listen to this 468. Pretty healthy on the duration but mild on the lift. Sounds bigger than this 496. th-cam.com/video/tHp9gab42qg/w-d-xo.html&lc=z22ecbealvv3sp1hq04t1aokgj3f33bsf0w4ycnmbo4ark0h00410.1609253936980973&feature=em-comments
@@AB-80X sounds like it's idleling a bit high, but that's what high compression with narrow LSA. The red Chevrolet sounds healthy too, but I really dislike the SLP loudmouth resonators; gives it that popping noise. The Chevrolet has a big cam, duration @.050 262°/270°. It depends on the LSA, where the exhaust closes at, compression(gold car has 13.5:1..so they say). Both cars are awesome though, thanks for sharing the link!!
@@davidkeeton6716 Hah that 468 is not mine. Currently putting an 11:1 583" weekend cruiser together with Profiler Sniper X heads and a very healty cam with DTL lobes. I doubt I'll see many taillights;) If not for anything else than my own tire smoke lol:D But yeah, I'm sure that 496 is haulin':)
Let's hear about the build specs and power. I have one 496 I built for dyno testing porting specs, plenum volume and internal header diameter. It has always been a hydraulic roller. I am curious about motors built with "off the shelf parts," street performance motors that run solid rollers. You have a beautiful car. I really like how you deleted the vents at the bottom of the front window where the wiper crank used to go. That's slick.
Steve Solo what do you mean off the shelf? lol if you want a high hp Chevy you have to get a custom shit. I’m building a 355 sbc with solid roller Lunati cam. .650 lift on intake side and .657 on exhaust. Cam is rowdy for that small black Chevy. The setup I have in it should make around 500whp.
Brendan McCarthy Jesus man, that’s not even close to being true. Anybody with a credit card can make 1,000 horsepower with a couple clicks of the mouse and off the shelf parts. It’s not 1970 anymore.
Are you running stock a-arms? If so what style and size headder are you running? Also do you have a rack and pinion in there? Reason of asking is I just went to a bbc and am having issues with my 69 nova. Also my stock 11" brake booster is hitting my valve cover. So any recommendations there also nice nova in the background.
Roy Patterson tube upper a arms, stock steering, manual breaks, have no issues of running, hooker super cop 2.25 primaries, 4" collector, no problem with clearance even with letting exhaust out....car is for sell with trailer. Clear title! Would not take much to put on street.
Awe Hey Pappy I really like that Mr Gasket Scoop you got under the hood who gave you that one of the grand kids ? I can't imagine a real motor head putting it on top the carb ? So I figure it had to be one of the kids ? Last time I saw one of those was hanging on the accessorizes rack at Kmart .....
That roller cutting up so bad it brings tears to my eyes!

👍👍 to the OG man. I miss the 80's I built a 60 over 400 with 11-1 running on race gas. That sounds good
