Here’s a good tip I don’t see a lot of bastions doing: don’t shoot at a genji when he’s deflecting and your in turret form
I think Genji is also a good counter for Bastion, His block ability just fecimates bastions
yeah but as long as you hold off and don’t attack during it ur good but u have to be aware of genjis deflect
Yeah but if u play against good bastions we just wait until after u reflect and u get deleted even if ur being healed is the bad thing u have to wait until close to end of turrent form even then it’s pretty risky unless u just come up behind him get close af and spam his wide shurikens but higher Elo the whole team will play around him so it’s tough to even do damage or get close to him
Hanzo and widow are the best for killing bastion tbh

Sombra is a Perfect counter for Bastions. She can sneak up, hack him and kill him all by herself with one full magazine. It’s like her ammunition is perfectly enough to kill a bastion lol
Trust me. I main Sombra and it’s literally a guaranteed kill if you get the first hit after hacking lol, better than Tracer if you ask me

@@roberthastings5969 and while were at it, lets just remove his ultimate and his dash and nerf his shurikens by 80% and at this point we might as well just make his block just make him take 5% less damage instead of doing anything else

Im new to Overwatch but it something I've learned quickly
All one must do is top the melody of hellfire from reaching Sigma's ears and once the orh is gone, delete with malicious intent
@@itsyvonblitz6819 there is nothing funnier than conditioning a bastion into turning around whenever I pop grasp to cancel with accretion and get at least 200 damage on him

Reaper is also a good choice since you can bait out his turret duration with wraith form and if you just don't wanna deal with him teleporting away is a good option

I actually love playing into tracers as bastion it's one of the most riveting experiences you can get playing this sleepy character
Always found echo to be a great counter because when bastion isn’t in turret, form he’s really slow which makes a perfect target to stick all of echo’s grenades on him, melting him instantly
I'm gonna have to disagree to an extent. Sentry mode is hitscan so by definition he counters echo
@@improbablegaming6592 recon has hitscan too and his gun can put pressure on echo which is enough to stop echo from diving supports
It’s a yes and no. Bastion is slow, and slower with a bigger hitbox in assault mode. It does make it easier to land the stickies on him, BUT he can easily tear through echo since he’s hitscan
@@dewayne9040 echo can play poke at multiple angles too, so its not as if she has no counterplay. As it is bastion v echo matchup is fairly balanced, tho i argue its more echo sided.
@@improbablegaming6592 echo isn’t countered by hitscans…common misconception. If she’s flying around in open space like a pharah she’s countered. But that’s not how you’re supposed to play her anyway. Good echos can navigate the terrain in a way that just being a hitscan won’t matter. You can wrap around roofs and natural cover and drop on them pop ur sticky’s and beam them into their grave.

Reaper is actually a really good counter for Bastion. You can teleport near bastion and his tank-like hitboxes will help you to kill him in seconds with shotguns, if he goes to turret form, you can simply use wraight form to take cover or run away. Easy
disagree on that one. When he is in turret mode his only weakness is the light behind him, and he can melt a Reaper in seconds. I think Hanzo is a much better counter. He can play the distance, and because Bastions hit box is so big, Hanzo will rarely miss. Not to mention that storm arrow will melt Bastion since he doesn't heal anymore.

@@MasterChief-Spartan117 If you can then good on you. I'm just saying that there are way better counters out there, and this is coming from a guy whose mained Reaper since OW1 S1. Much as I love Reaper, Bastion just melts him. Hanzo, Junkrat, hell Hog at one point.
@@ivenstorm not denying the fact that reaper is not the best option against bastion, actually not even close to the best. But sometimes, you just find yourself in a 1v1 outta nowhere and you know you have to do something. You know that situations, everybody knows and that helped me to learn how to play Reaper against Bastion

Don’t forget, Bastion has “head” critical hitbox during tank/turret form on his back where it’s glowing bright blue. So tracer can take advantage of that and pretty much one clip Bastion if she can sneak up behind him during that 6s window of his form
My favourite part of playing bastion is when people don’t expect a flanking bastion

As long as the team is solid around you, a Sombra can take on a bastion and melt him with a single mag inside or outside of turret with barely any resistance. This only works if the rest of the enemy team is pretty distracted and he doesn’t have a pocket heal though

Lol I love bastions with Sigma. Especially when they sit atop somewhere I just push my shield all the way to his little area so he backs off
I will walk right up to him when he sprays and essentially lock him down from shooting at all.
This makes no sense. Bastion is literally designed to melt shields. Sigma has one of the weakest shields in the game. Bastion annihilates it almost instantly. Dva stomps him as long as you have full matrix. I also find that orisa is surprisingly effective against him, because her javelin spin, fortify, and spear all mitigate his dps output while he's in turret

Ana is an amazing counter too. Anti nade and sleep dart when coordinated can make Bastion's life a living hell.
I swear every time that I am in assault mode I get slept
Bastion is really strong in certain situations, but can also be hard countered by half the roster
Orisa with her ability to just say no to all projectiles be like 😐 👁 👄 👁
The big hitbox makes sleeping bastion relatively easy too, then by the tie the bastion wakes up the tank mode is nearly over

I've been playing Bastion lately at lower levels, and you're right about these heroes being a problem for him. I'm grateful for all the Mercys who velcro themselves to me in those games where the tank has good self-sustain.
Genii is my favorite matchup to go against Bastion because of not only the block, but movement making it harder to track
How to counter bastion: literally anyone with a shield or mobility.

You would be surprised by the kind of players that are in the lower ELOS. My friends sometimes send me some replays and the things I've seen always make me giggle or facepalm
Not saying all players in Bronze or Silver are that bad. But there are definitely a sizeable chunk of players who definitely deserve being hardstuck Bronze even if they think otherwise
echo works well too, if you can dive from an off angle and get behind him you can land multiple stickies easily due to the reduced movement speed in turret form and finish him with the beam. outside of turret form, his huge hitbox makes it so easy to burst him down with the echo combo.
How to counter anything in overwatch: dont play overwatch.
And don't forget this tip :
U can counter him with snipers , genji , reaper and junkrat
Reaper is a great counter as well
These are facts, i learned it from experience and found a way to counter them.
1.make sure you stay in team with sigma, you do a lot of damage and you distract him easily.
2.tracers low hp makes her really vulnerable to the nade, some well made shots combined will take care easily of her
3. Zenyatta slow movement kaes him very vulnerable to assault mode, so try to make him stay aways from his team bye using the nades and the primary fire
These are really good tips, i kind of mained bastion in season 1 and a good tracer can be pretty hard to deal with 1v1.
Reaper is also an insanely good pick against him
It so satisfied when you deflected all of tunnel vision Bastion's bullets as Genji.
Genji and Dva are both very useful against him too. A surprise deflect can be devastating, and even if you don’t shoot it still takes a few seconds off your assault form. Defense Matrix also shuts him down briefly

Genji is also a really good matchup in turret form you can deflect almost all of his shots before you have to recharge your ability
Hog is also pretty good *IF* you land the hook since it pulls him out of turret , although it might be difficult to get in range to the bastion before getting obliterated

I believe Reaper is also a good counter for bastion, since his massive shotgun spread works well with bastion's recon mode. And like tracer, he can flank behind bastion and kill bastion as the head hitbox is right behind bastion. And if you're out in the open with bastion in turret mode, you can wraith to get into cover.
what about genji i see a lot of bastions still spraying on you when u block hits
as a bastion main i love when people switch genji to counter me because i know they wanna do this to me, and i dont fall for it. this works sometimes in low ranks but now i see it coming every time, so i just wait out reflect and genji has no choice but to dash away and then i can go back to doing bastion things. just keep that in mind when you try and counter him with reflect. it’s totally reliant on the bastion killing himself
That strategy relies on the bastion not having braincels unlike the counters in the video wich relies on bastion's natural weakneses
Reaper has been really strong when I play against him. U just have to have good cooldown management, aim, and sneakiness

I love bastion because he can hold down points, prevent the enemy from advancing, destroy shields and mow down teams with Kirikos, Ana’s or/and mercy ULT’s.

He can be, but Bastion is also pretty strong against poke comps because he’s more survivable at range. I personally don’t fear Hanzo as much as Tracer or Genji because I know I can effectively aim at Hanzo and grenade him around corners.
Dva, genji and widow are all good bastion counters, especially now that there are less barriers

Ana is good as well due to sleep and anti heal. If they have a Kiriko you can bait her cleanse with anti and then sleep him or vise versa.
Whenever I see bastion on the enemy team it's either hanzo for dps or Ana for support. It's so easy to bait them as hanzo and because of their gigantic hitbox, it's so easy to destroy them by just spamming arrows. Same thing with Ana, except I go for sleep first when they go in turret form cuz it's so easy to hit them

Oh how the old days are gone in which to fight against a bunker bastion comp you would need a genji deflect or a tracer bomb to have a chance sometimes.
Dva is also solid too, her matrix lasts noticeably longer than grasps, and with the help of another teammate can dive on bastion.
A hero I hardly ever see mentioned is S76. He's one of my go-to Bastion counters. His rockets can make quick work, plus the insane amount of continuous damage you can pump in, while also quickly repositioning and healing will always over power a good bastion.

Hanzos storm arrow does a good burst damage, and leaves room for a half charged arrow to finish him off if he’s in turret
we ain gone talk ab how solely pressing E on genji in front of turret bastion either deletes him in 2 seconds or forces him to stop spraying and praying his life away.

Don’t forget that bastions crit spot boxes to behind his back when in his turret form
Dva Is always my go to for bastion. You can get out if you need to, and you got that good ol defense matrix.
another good counter DPS character would be Torbjorn in my opinion.
All I basically do is attack the Bastion by surprise with overload. It only takes around 3 to 4 clean shots from your shotgun to kill him. It's surprising quick, easy, and effective.
The problem is that most Bastions will be situated in secure positions. Torb counters a lot of things provided he can get the right positioning, which unfortunately rarely happens. That said, if your tank has Bastion’s number and can effectively keep him occupied for a decent amount of time, Torb can pretty much do exactly what Zen can, or burst him down with the scattergun. Something I like about Torb is that people don’t prioritize him in team fights so a lot of times he ends up avoiding the brunt of abilites like Bastion’s Assault Mode in favor of other targets.

Reapers are also a huge counter due to the same reason as Tracer. The high amount of damage plus self healing works wonders, even during his turret form. Playing around corners and pillars make it a nightmare.

I seen some clever tracer tricks when the enemy is sleeping, throw a pulse bomb next to the person sleeping so they don't wake up from the initial 5 damage it does, happened to me today
why not just stick it to him I don't see the purpose of throwing it next to him
Genji also deflects so every shot sent from bastion is just shot back into his face, but it’s reduced

I dunno if it’s just me but bastions LOVE to shoot me while I’m absorbing all damage, that health boost is ludicrous.
Doom fist can also be good on certain maps if you stun the bastion then block him in turret form

Sombra is definitely one of the best counters for Bastion. He’s literally a guaranteed kill if you hack him out of turret form. I main Sombra and the amount of times I’ve made Bastions leave or switch from constantly bullying them is hilarious
Torb is good to imo. Place a turret to bait his for change, then once that's done overload rush in and secondary shotgun fire once close enough, which won't take too long because of the large hitbox
