@@SquiddySyddy attacks with `focused` in their names , fill up the stagger gauge/bar faster. so in cloud`s case spamming focused thrust is good , then once the enemies are staggered, you can use braver, for max dmg. however , some enemies are vulnerable to spells ( magic) so knowing their weaknesses you cna just use the according element to fill up stagger gauge aswell as deal alot of dmg using those.
Just for the record, the damage in the city is NOT all the characters faults. They set a controlled explosion to only blow up the reactor. But, the Shinra boss made a BIGGER explosion, damaging the entire sector and destroying the buildings and structure, blaming our team.
This is awesome just restarted this amazing journey as well! Also the original came out in 1997. The remake came out in 2020. Yeah people waited awhile lol.
It’s so wild! I had no idea it was that long apart haha. I’ve been blessed to be a newbie gamer with sequels coming out I can play right through the first and new, but soon I will be just like everyone else waiting 🫠😂 I think the one game I’m on that ship with already is the wait for TLOU 3!
It's bad the they don't know they got setup by the boss. I'm glad they showed us what really happened. The boss setoff more explosives to make it look like they ruined the city. Jessie's bomb was small and did what was supposed to do.
Subbed. I've not played 16, so I can't really comment on how I feel about it, I've heard differing reviews, but I'm guessing if you're playing 7 you must have had a good time! Ff6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 is the golden sequence (at least for me), these games are just full of heart, spirituality, soul, all to Nobuo Uematsu's amazing music composition. 7 is definitely the most loved, it was my first one too so I am definitely clouded (pun unintended but we'll roll with it) with nostalgia. It gives me the same feeling that Star wars does, but even better. They really created a world and I was so excited that Remake had all the same heart and soul of the concept, which you'll see for yourself first time. I've not played 16 but I'm going to venture this one will definitely make you go "wow" for sure.
😂😂 I loved the pun lol. Thank you so much for the comments and sub! I don’t know anything about 6, 8, 9 or 10 - but if they’re all in the same realm I could understand the hype! 16 was very different, I wanted to play it simply because it gave me Elden Ring vibes lol 😭 I did really enjoy it but to long time fans I could see how it didn’t have the same magic and soul. It was very emotional, but the characters I feel are more like able in 7 already :)
@@SquiddySyddyThank you, I'm secretly great at puns. 7 is the most known, but they're all epic and if you like this one you'll probably be tempted for some of them. Yeah 16 is definitely a different vibe, one day I'll sit down to it. Every FF has its own world and characters and even gameplay, it's a really great franchise and you can start anywhere and it's fine. Glad you're enjoying it, you'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll be amazed at stuff like scenery. They did this remake so right no matter how naysayers like to make out otherwise.
The og came out September 7th 1997 in North America so its been a long time coming. Me and my friend got lucky and were able to play it a week early because his father was the manager of a Circuit City and got us each a copy. I was 17. One of my best memories ever😊 You should play the og. You'll have a much better understanding of what has been changed and what is still familiar.
It's crazy that you're going into this blind. This game is so fire. Maximilian Dood TH-cam channel has so much lore cool news on this including IGN. I really hope you enjoy this.
I got confused by locking on at first too. Once you have locked on, any press of the right stick will switch targets. So you cannot move the camera if you want to use the lock on feature. After a while I grew to like it since i didn't have to worry about aiming my camera after I locked on. But you don't have to use it if you don't like it, lol. My piece of advice is to remember that dodging does NOT grant invincibility in this game. You should block some attacks that cannot be easily dodged. You can't just mash dodge like you can in some other games to beat every attack.
Makes sense! I definitely need to get better at blocking in this game, I think I’m struggling with that the most right now 😂 & yess I have beef with locking on haha I think once I get in the groove of switching between targets I will appreciate it too. Thank you!
yay welcome to the best final fantasy! you wont regret it! and just in time for part 2 of the remake to come out next month! new sub here! cant wait to watch the rest. hope you dont skip to many scenes. ive seen some people skip good parts and im like, damn, wish i could have seen their reaction to it.
Welcome in! Thank you so much :) Yess I understand. If I trim anything out it would just be for copyright issues - I had to trim the combat in Chapter 2 because the music was blaring loud haha I’ve turned it down a tad so I hopefully can post everything important moving forward!
One tip that i will give you for any final fantasy game is to look around and keep your eyes open for chest cause there are some you might miss one example is when you walk up the stairs if you look behind the balcony there is a chest I'm not sure if people know that you can get to it but you can
Awesome!! 👏 hope you enjoy the game and looking forward to the rest. Small note to make clear is that Shinra “blew up” the reactor while Avalanche only destroyed the mako mechanism. Shinra is trying to make them look bad.
@@SquiddySyddy a lot of people miss this detail actually, because of all the chaos thats going down. But yeah, Jessie's bomb only makes a tiny explosion that blows up the main pump. Then the scene switches over to President Shinra giving the orders to self-destruct the whole building. Shinra is trying to make it look like AVALANCHE are violent terrorists. The saddest thing is watching Jessie beat herself up because she actually thinks it was her fault. She thinks she made the bomb too strong, and that she's responsible for all the destruction, panic, and deaths.
Hiii Sydney what a way to start the year playing one of my favorite and best game ever. You will be amazed by this story soon... 😊I hope youre ok have a great day i cannot wait for the second part ❤ great gamplay very entertaining take care🥹👍🖤🎮
I’m so glad you love this game! I have a feeling it’s going to get emotional 😂🙆🏻♀️ Thank you so much! Glad to be back and part 2 should be up on Sunday!
about he locking on issue. i usually instantly press R3 once to lock onto a enemy as the battle starts. then use the arrow keys to the right or left untill im locked on the the enemy i want to kill first. cause if you dont lock on, you ll shift to the closest enemy to you. which sometimes makes you jump from one to another repeatedly.
Maximilian Dood and Strange Rebel Gaming got me into this. Final Fantasy games are legendary they're so many.,but they are all different. This is the absolute best. I have PlayStation 5 Special Edition. I platinumed this game. It also made me a big fan of Cloud, because he's cool and hardcore. Looking gorgeous btw. Can't wait to watch you kick ass in this. I've beaten this twice in my bedroom on 65"4K 2.1 TV.
This is excellent indeed. As a Final Fantasy fan, I am so amazed about the game and you did a great job in the game. So who is your favorite character so far?
love seeing new people trying out FF7, especially coming from FF16 and having no idea what to expect with 7. Will be watching more for your reaction and feedback about the game and story :) have played the original since 1998
That’s awesome! I always wish certain franchises I had been around to experience the beginning, but it’s nice too getting to come in later with many I could play at once / hearing feedback from those who have played before me ❤️ Thank you! 😊
I played FF16 and I loved it, got the platinum but the combat is quite different from FF7 Remake/Rebirth. I prefer to have a combat team you can switch between in a fight. In 16 you only controlled Clive with limited command options for his wolf companion. All the other companions that joined Clive was controlled by the AI. I never played the OG for FF7. I really enjoyed Remake & I'm in the middle of Rebirth which they took to a whole other level of enjoyment.
I'm pretty sure this is the first time I've watched a reaction of someone playing FF7R and not knowing who Sephiroth is. 😅 I always wanted to see what this scene would be like for someone who never played the original FF7 or who never even watched Advent Children before. Interesting... This scene really only makes any sense to those who played the original FF7, since this meeting between Cloud and Sephiroth in Midgar never happens originally. The good thing about never having played the original version is not knowing what will happen in the Remake. This goes for Rebirth, which will probably be the most impactful.
Just FYI the key to combat is using your abilities in the command menu once you have enough ATB charges. That’s why it’s one of the first things the game teaches you to do :)
Also try following the instructions in the tutorial pop up’s even if you’ve experimented on your own before. They give you very key info about how the different mechanics work that you can miss if you aren’t paying attention to them.
If you like Spider-Man, you should play through the Batman Arkham games on this channel. They have similar combat to the Spider-Man games, although they're a bit older. It's one of my favorite series so I would love to see you play through it. Release order is Batman: Arkham Asylum (2009), Batman: Arkham City (2011), Batman: Arkham Origins (2013), and Batman: Arkham Knight (2015).
I'm not sure how you feel about the older games but they have SO much charm to them as well. 6 is my favorite and the orchestrated music in the pixel remaster is amazing.
Hey Jeremy girl! You are gonna love this FF7 Remake game believe me. Although there's gonna be a lot you won't understand cause you never played the OG FF7 before. Anyway all you need to know about Cloud right now is that he's a lost man who doesn't really have his priorities straight acting so rude closed off and hardly caring about anything but money.
Im sure you'll love this game just as much as 16. I think 16 is probably the best entry point for people as its one full game and story and you don't really have to wait for parts to come out, let alone buying 3 70$ games for this trilogy lol. With that said, FF7 Remake is another great Final Fantasy so I hope you enjoy it!
Definitely! I didn’t even know while playing 16 that 7 remake was split into parts 😂 let alone that part 2 isn’t the end either haha. Thank you so much!
I hope to see you play more of the original FF games , my favorites are FF4 , 5 and 6 , FF7 the original , and FF12 probably the most underrated FF of them all
@@SquiddySyddy it's just it was my first ever FF game growing up so it's very special for me , the original game was a turned based rpg in which i'm a sucker for that type of gameplay lol
I just found your channel and I'm excited to follow you on your adventures. I've been playing Final Fantasy (even the MMO's) since Final Fantasy II (which is actually Final Fantasy IV) waaaay back in 1991 on the SNES (I'm old), and to be completely honest...the original 7 just didn't do anything for me. I don't know what it was, but I wasn't a fan and list it pretty low on my personal ranking list. Not that it's a bad game, it's an amazing game that pushed the genre and laied a lot of the foundations for rpgs we have today, I just didn't like it. All that to say, Remake hit all the right buttons for me and quickly shot up my list of favorite Final Fantasies, and I'm very impatiently waiting for Rebirth. All Final Fantasy games have had a touch of sci-fi, but 7 really pushed the series into that modern fantasy/science-fantasy asthetic that carried through 8, 13, and 15. 1-4 and 9 were pure fantasy with a touch of sci-fi elements where 6 and 12 could be considered magitek-punk, fantasy settings where technology is ran on magic (a concept that carries through the series starting with 6). 16 was a return to a pure fantasy setting that a lot of fans had been missing. As much as I loved 16, and it's in my top 5 FF games, I wish they would have carried over and refined the combat system of this game. 7 Remake was the perfect combo of the ATB system (which had been a staple of the franchise since 4) and action combat. I also hated I couldn't switch between Clive and Jill or Cid like you can here. I know the combat takes a bit getting used to, espically since you're coming from 16, but it'll become second nature before you know it. Anyway, that's enough of my rambling. Instant sub from me, and looking forward to more. EDIT: Now that I've finished this first video, I hope you don't mind some tips. I don't know how far ahead you are in your recordings so you may have already figured all of this out. - 16 downplayed magic so much it might as well have not existed. In 7R, on the other hand, magic will save your life. Cure will heal substantially more than using a potion, and every enemy has an elemental weakness that one of your spells can exploit. For instance, machines are weak to Thunder magic, humans weak to Fire and so on. Play around and you'll figure it out. Just keep an eye on your MP and have some ethiers handy. - When cloud blocks a physical attack in Punisher mode, you can do a counterattck that will leave your enemy open. - Holding down Cloud's main attack will attack multiple enemies. If you tap it he'll concentrate on a single target. - Each character has thier own playstyle. I often found myself favoring other characters over Cloud. - In the same vein, don't worry about switching too much from one chracter to the next. The ones you aren't currently controlling can take care of themselves, though they'll prioritize defence over offence, and thier ATB gage won't fill as quickly. But a lot of combats will have you switching back and forth. - Certain materia can synergize with others, play around and find some combinations that work for you. - Materia also gains it's own XP as you level, and improves over time.
Wow! Thank you so much for such a thoughtful comment! Thank you for the sub as well ❤️ That’s so awesome that you found love for 7 with the remake. I could see how it would’ve been nice to play in 16 as Jill or Joshua the way you can here! I haven’t paid mine to using Cure, but you may have convinced me haha. I really really appreciate the tips, I’m only just ahead of you guys so I will be able to utilize this soon 🙏🏼 Appreciate it again, and sorry if I continue to struggle for a bit lol!!

This game is a fantastic pallet cleanser from 16 Final fantasyXVI was visually stunning and, that’s it. I don’t think the concept of actual people embodying. The usual summons was a very interesting plot twist after the Phoenix. I mean before this game I didn’t even think that the Phoenix was a summon and I still don’t know if it is I thought maybe it had something to do with Phoenix Downs becoming a regular thing in the franchise, because I’m pretty sure those are not a thing in this game. I mean they are in THIS game, but not FF 16. Phoenix Downs are regular items in Final Fantasy
Interesting! Yes I can agree it’s nice playing this after 16 being my first because I’m really seeing how different they are haha. Feels like they’re meant for two different audiences.
Final Fantasy is a complicated series. Each game is different from the last, and each game has a different setting and characters. FF16 takes place in a medieval European setting, which is what the series was originally built on. It wasn't until FF 6, 7, and 8, where they started to experiment with steampunk and futuristic settings. That's why this game feels so different from FF16.
Interesting! It’s funny because this game resembles in my head what I always thought Final Fantasy would be, and in comparison 16 is lacking a lot of - but I wasn’t aware 16 is similar to how FF originally began.
Wait... You've played FF16 so you clearly have a PS5 and you specifically put "Intergrade" in the title... but this is very clearly the PS4 version of Remake... Um...? Edit: Alright, I see now that you played the PS5 version from EP 2 onward. Thank goodness.

I hope you enjoy this experience, please avoid spoilers on the internet / social media.
Definitely am! Thank you :)
One of the best games ever made, can’t wait to watch your playthrough!
Thank you so much! 😊
Just for the record, the damage in the city is NOT all the characters faults. They set a controlled explosion to only blow up the reactor. But, the Shinra boss made a BIGGER explosion, damaging the entire sector and destroying the buildings and structure, blaming our team.
Yess thank you! I’m glad someone pointed this out before I had played again cause that went over my head haha. Appreciate the note ❤️
Final Fantasy Remake is very well produced and creative especially when you're looking at how much work went into the game
That’s so fun! ❤️
It's crazy that you're going into this blind. This game is so fire. Maximilian Dood TH-cam channel has so much lore cool news on this including IGN. I really hope you enjoy this.
Thank you so much!
Welcome back Syddy! Glad to see the absolute W play through vids again 🙌🏼💛
W Jordie thank you!!
Ahh true! Although I watched it I believe that went right over my head LOL. Thank you :)
@@rjenyawd Yes! I think I said that out loud in part 2, Jessie was beating herself up over it 💔 and I love her so I'm like ugh stop lol!
@@SquiddySyddy Sunday let's goo🎮😎🥹
about he locking on issue. i usually instantly press R3 once to lock onto a enemy as the battle starts. then use the arrow keys to the right or left untill im locked on the the enemy i want to kill first.
cause if you dont lock on, you ll shift to the closest enemy to you. which sometimes makes you jump from one to another repeatedly.
Yeah I need to get used to using the arrow keys cause trying to base it off positioning drives me nuts lol!
Cloud can actually fight in the sky to a little. Just get close and keep attacking.
I am very excited for Rebirth to come out and to see more of your play through
Thank you so much! ❤️
you'll absolutely love this long journey
Maximilian Dood and Strange Rebel Gaming got me into this. Final Fantasy games are legendary they're so many.,but they are all different. This is the absolute best. I have PlayStation 5 Special Edition. I platinumed this game. It also made me a big fan of Cloud, because he's cool and hardcore. Looking gorgeous btw. Can't wait to watch you kick ass in this. I've beaten this twice in my bedroom on 65"4K 2.1 TV.
Cloud is awesome! He’s lowkey a softie with a hard exterior haha
Yeah I agree. Tifa is changing him mentally. It's definitely good not to be so hardcore that much. ☺️👍🏻
Hit the machines from the side or behind. Explore as well, you're missing chest. You're doing ok 👍
This is excellent indeed. As a Final Fantasy fan, I am so amazed about the game and you did a great job in the game. So who is your favorite character so far?
Jeremy! Nice to be back, thank you :) Off the bat I really like Jessie!
love seeing new people trying out FF7, especially coming from FF16 and having no idea what to expect with 7.
@@SquiddySyddy can't wait for your next FF videos :) thank you for your reply too, it means a lot x
Just a note: In the options there is a way to swap block from R1 to L1. Enjoying your play-through so far, keep it up!
Thank you so much! I usually keep settings the same to play as the game was “intended” but for this, I will switch it to L1 😂❤️
Hello new viewer here! I like watching new folks play this game. It's one of my favorite games of 2020. Hope you enjoy it!
Hello hello! I’m so glad you love it ❤️ Thank you! :)
Just found this, will definitely watch it all!
Thanks so much! ❤️
The cloud and sephiroth rivalry is too classic. I hope you enjoy the rest of the game!
Thank youuu 🙏🏼✨
btw its nooch in case you didn't know lol@@SquiddySyddy
@@RumsyTheGhost I did I gotchu 😂❤
i spent most of this video wanting nothing more than for you to use bolt. How did you manage to go so long without event entering the skills menu? :D
Yeah not sure honestly lol!
Original final fantasy 7 released in 1997, so to answer your question - It's been 23 years
Thank youuu!! Wow was not expecting - that - much distance 😂❤️
All machines are weak to lightning magic. You should have been using Barrett’s thunder spell. Would have killed it way faster.
I’m looking forward to trying it out soon!
I'm pretty sure this is the first time I've watched a reaction of someone playing FF7R and not knowing who Sephiroth is. 😅
I always wanted to see what this scene would be like for someone who never played the original FF7 or who never even watched Advent Children before.
LOL yes I’m absolutely clueless! So excited to continue the story ✨
@@jazzorion1 Yess I plan on reading up through the menu on everything next time to make sure I’m not missing anything! Thank you :)
I absolutely want to! I was thinking of doing so later this year 😊 Thank you for the release order!
The Original came out in 1997 and this first part of the remake trilogy came out in 2020
Im playing through 16 now. Its really good but you just cant beat the uniquenss of these characters and their personalities. Cant wait for rebirth!
That was my immediate reaction to playing 7! There’s so much detail here that you don’t get in 16. ❤️
Yeah! Definitely loves his money, and his snarky comments threw me off 🤣 Thank you!
@@SquiddySyddy Yeah but he still needs a personality check🙄
I never noticed before but the reactor marked "404" is missing it's mako plume. 404 is an html error code meaning the page is missing xD lol
Thank you so much!
i finished this game few hours ago, this is congarulation
I hope to see you play more of the original FF games , my favorites are FF4 , 5 and 6 , FF7 the original , and FF12 probably the most underrated FF of them all
Just curious is there a reason you like the FF7 original more?
@@SquiddySyddy it's just it was my first ever FF game growing up so it's very special for me , the original game was a turned based rpg in which i'm a sucker for that type of gameplay lol
I would recommand you to have fun , dont stress ! and enjoy it if you like it
Thank you! 😊❤️
If you complete the story and if you like this game, you should try the "Kingdom Hearts" series as well, which is produced by the same company. :)
I’ve been told this a lot! I will probably play through it for TH-cam in the future!
Tbh I think 7 is WAYYYYYYY better then 16. 16 was great but 7 just has a WHOLE different vibe. Just overall 7 is just an amazing game and no other ff has even come close maybe 10 or 13
It is incredibly different! 16’s big story moments were so emotional, but the rest could feel very shallow in comparison
Great time for a playthrough with Rebirth coming soon. Looking forward to it :)
It worked out nice after Spider-Man right before Rebirth forsure! 🤎

I'm currently playing Final Fantasy 16 and yeah this game looks completely different from Final Fantasy 16 , this game looks more futuristic and sci-fi while Final Fantasy 16 had a old medieval swords and dragons feel
Definitely! That’s why I was drawn to FF16 - I love the medieval vibe. FF7 from what I’ve heard is more how they usually are - which I’m enjoying equally as much! They’re super different off the bat. Do you know how far you are in 16 yet?

What is remake integrate??
It has a dlc at the end
Hi, great playthrough so far, but if you're interested i'd recommend playing the original after this one, since the story differs a lot and it's actually for a reason that matters so you wouldnt be playing the same game twice!!
Interesting! I had no idea they were different, just thought the Remake was expanded :)
This game is a fantastic pallet cleanser from 16
Final fantasyXVI was visually stunning and, that’s it.
Feels like they’re meant for two different audiences.
hi Squiddy Syddy
Hello! 💃🏻
You need to use spells a lot more 👍
💕cute😊😊😊
Final Fantasy is a complicated series. Each game is different from the last, and each game has a different setting and characters. FF16 takes place in a medieval European setting, which is what the series was originally built on. It wasn't until FF 6, 7, and 8, where they started to experiment with steampunk and futuristic settings. That's why this game feels so different from FF16.
Interesting! It’s funny because this game resembles in my head what I always thought Final Fantasy would be, and in comparison 16 is lacking a lot of - but I wasn’t aware 16 is similar to how FF originally began.
each entry is different, VII remake is kind of a sequel, the ending might not make sense, You may need to play FF7 Crisis Core before FF7 Rebirth
Wait... You've played FF16 so you clearly have a PS5 and you specifically put "Intergrade" in the title... but this is very clearly the PS4 version of Remake... Um...?
Edit: Alright, I see now that you played the PS5 version from EP 2 onward. Thank goodness.
😂😂 it's funny because you're the first person to say something about this - thank goodness I realized right after ep 1 🙃

@@SquiddySyddy Ah, mystery solved.
I can’t decide whether or not to play the og before this because I don’t know much about the story or characters of FF7 and I want to learn, but I’m not the biggest fan of turn based games. 😩

Why do you cut out content? It's unfortunate.
I had to trim the combat in Chapter 2 simply due to many copyright issues that I couldn’t work around. The music was extremely loud so there’s no where to hide haha. I have turned down the music a tad in hopes I won’t have the same issue going forward ❤️
