I have never bought scent boosters I do epsom salt & essential oils. Love it and super easy and effective for us. Also does not irritate my sensitive & psoriasis skin.
Melt down those candles you hate the smell of, put some sawdust into old cupcake lined pans, pour the melted candles over the sawdust, and you have fire starters. I did this to use up a bunch, and in a zip lock bag, you don't smell them.
Great video, Angela. I am so with you on the tipping. They automatically expect a tip. And for what? What the heck have they done that’s over and above the required service? Aren’t they paid for that? Isn’t that their job? And all that "expected" tipping can really add up. They actually try and shame you into tipping. I am done with it! No more.
I completely agree. The last few times I had got coffee on the go, I paid cash to the exact dime. They would just roll their eyes at me as I dug through my coins 😂 I always make sure now to make coffee before we leave anywhere, if we will be gone for a while. It does add up quickly when buying on the run!
Most of what you are talking about changing or eliminating, I’ve been doing for awhile now. It makes a lot of sense. I have so much stuff that I know I need to get rid of because I’m 70 and I look around my house and think about how much longer do I need to keep stuff before someone else is going to have to deal with it all when I’m gone. I started thinking also about how much I’ve spent over the years for all these things I thought I really needed or wanted and it’s a lot of money wasted! Too much stuff is too much!
⚡️WoW, Angela! You must be doing something right to have all that energy!! It simply boggles my mind 😳. I’m a new subscriber - I’ve just started binge watching your videos. They are wonderful and inspiring and so is your family! God bless you all✨🙏🏽💖
Most baristas make minimum wage. In 20 states, that's $15,080 for a full time job. I don't know about anyone else, but I couldn't live on that. So if they're hoping for a tip to help them out, I think that's perfectly understandable. And the baristas I know work very hard all day, they aren't trying to not work. I feel for anybody trying to get all their bills paid with all these rising prices. I feel lucky to have what I have and if I can help others I do. So I do tip the baristas and I also donate to the food pantry every month.
🇦🇺For Christmas I bought my grandchildren (13,15,18) 38:26 hankies and my youngest daughter (35) hankies and re-usable pads. My granddaughter (13) has re-usable pads I bought, that she loves.
Kitchen gadgets went out some time ago. Silpats replaced parchment paper and glass food containers replaced plastic. Most seasonal are going out and Christmas ones will be substantial pieces. The little ones can go. Great video thanks.
I'm just seeing this video about 10 months after you posted it. I would love to hear a report on how you felt you did this year. You've got me thinking about some things I need to reconsider as well. Thanks for posting.
Awesome ideas, Angela! Thank you for sharing! One thing I’m going to try to work on this year is food waste. I have two dehydrators, a freeze dryer, several pressure canners and water bath canners. I have no excuse to waste food. My biggest problem is the freezer. I cook food like we are still a family of 5 when it’s just the two of us. So I put leftovers in the freezer where they go to die lol. I need to be better about pulling those things out of the freezer for us to eat again! Or if I throw them away a year later all I did was use up a bunch of energy to store food for a year leaving myself no room for new stuff or to even know what I have! That is what my goal is for this year! And ziplock bags… I need to find a good reusable ziplock bag system. The ones I ordered off Amazon tore after just a few uses 😢 Happy new year Angela and fam! Looking forward to spending 2024 with y’all! ❤ love from south TX
Oh, I hear you. Food waste has happened here, too, for many different reasons. We definitely plan to be more vigilant this year with that. I got a freeze dryer for Christmas!!! Im SO happy. The electricians come tomorrow to put the dedicated outlet in for it!! I hope you and your family have an abundantly blessed, Happy New Year! Thank you for being here 🩷😊 Love from the Rockies!
You pointed out several things I can relate to: Amazon impulse buys, kitchen gadgets, pre-tipping, minimalizing seasonal decor and get rid of box of gift bags! I also would like to get rid of plastic containers but I have such little storage to stack glass containers. Thanks for sharing your list. I would also love it if you share your chili recipe! It sounds delicious!
It depends on the person as to what age you feel overwhelmed having stuff. For me I started in my 40s feeling overwhelmed and not wanting the junk. I have a little bit of claustrophobic so getting rid of junk that can accumulate sure helped. Great video Angela.
@@rockymountainhomesteadangela happy new year. Our new year gave us a blizzard. Last night was rain and snow. Now it’s white out and icy. 🥶 wind is howling and it woke me. Since 2022/2023 was very mild, this year our weather is making up for it. 2nd major blizzard. Thanksgiving and now. North western Oklahoma is unpredictable. Happy new year again.
Not only have a switched to silicone cupcake/muffin liners, but I've gotten rid of the muffin tins as well (for space sake) bc the silicone ones stand up on a cookie sheet on their own. 😊
I am looking forward to all the homemade products ! I can't wait.. I started making my own laundry soap earlier this year and now I'm ready to take on all the cleaning and soap making! Thank you for doing this. OMG I stopped for a mocha last week for the first time in a long while... WHAT $7.00 😳 I'm with you on the tip thing I have had friends tell me when you order pizza to go and pick it up you should tip, For WHAT ? I drove in and picked it up ! Loved all your Ideas ty ty ty ... Happy New Year 💕
I know!! The price for a cup of coffee is ridiculous. I could practically buy a bag of coffee beans for the price of a coffee on the go and have coffee for a month! Same thing with takeout from restaurants here. They all expect a tip. Some automatically add it to your total here 😬 Wishing you a Happy New Year as well! 🩷
Angela, I’m always trying to figure out a way to put the big business corporations out of business. I wish we could all come together and say NO!😂 I can’t believe the conveniences we have today that we didn’t have when I was a kid. It’s not necessary to have all these things.
I used to only bake with silicone mats - NOPE as a baker I find Parchment is hands down the best -- Let me know what you think -- Now I just buy bulk sheets
New to your channel... I am amazed by what all you do with 8 children and a husband! One thing I wish you would reconsider not doing is the family photo card. Even if you changed the time / season of the cards...Valentines or vacation or ..... Many families put off getting family photos, only to regret it illness, death, even just seeing the changes each year. I so enjoy receiving updates and photos from the families. I place them on my buffet, and many will come visit and ask about the photos 📸. This year, as we age, I like the cards with the full picture. Some are trying to put 6 to 10 photos, which is hard to see. New Year Blessings to your family. PS ...we are Coloradoans, too. But out in the NE Flatlands.
Thank you so much, and welcome! I'm guilty as one who tries to put as many pics on a Christmas card as I can fit 😬😂 Maybe from now on, I just print out a family pic of all of us. Many blessings to you and your family, and I wish you a wonderful New Year!!
I agree with you! Manicures definitely take up a lot of money. I'm thankful I trade eggs for my nail services. Otherwise, I wouldn't be able to get mine done. Wishing you a Happy New Year! 🥳🎉🩷
Front load washing machines don’t clean your cloths that’s why clothes smell. I switched to a basic white top load washer and our clothes are clean again
I agree completely! We have a top loader. It's a commercial machine. But it could be an issue with how many clothes fit into it. It's a large capacity. Maybe im putting too much in 🤔 but we used to have a front loader and the amount of mold that would build up in the seal around the door 🤢 I don't miss it!!
Great video. When ya cancelled your subscriptions, also unsubscribe from their emails. if I don't see the email I don't see the Great deal. Been working on my email, I'm amazed how many I was getting.
Witch hazel is good for makeup remover. I quit wearing makeup, because it’s expensive. I don’t get my hair cut anymore. I don’t have my nails professionally done. 🤣I put less than 100 miles on my car per year.
I have never bought scent boosters I do epsom salt & essential oils. Love it and super easy and effective for us. Also does not irritate my sensitive & psoriasis skin.

Love that!! I make my own firestarters, too, but never even thought of doing that with the candles. Thank you! 😊
Bush bake beans are my secret ingredient in chili !

Coconut oil or ponds cold cream for sensitive skin removes eye makeup without stinging.

Please Please show us how & what to make the makeup remover.
I will absolutely be doing videos on how to make all the things!
I use Make Up Eraser pads! Just use warm water and it removes all makeup and even exfoliates.
