How many flowers/bushes needed to get a hive? Beginner here!
I grew cilantro the last two years and freeze dried it. It is like freshly pulled a year later! You will not be disappointed!! Rosemary, parsley, bee balm, peppermint, lemon thyme, every herb so far comes out like it was pulled fresh.
Horseradish will grow big like tobacco leaves. My grandpa always had a designated bed for it, away from everything else so he could mow around it and keep it in check. Very lush, big leaves, probably 4 feet tall, at least. And it will grow in a clustered area. He loved loved loved his horseradish, it was something he always took such pride in, from growing it to processing it and gifting it away.
I had a disaster out year of gardening last year…..grazon in my dirt…..so I’m starting everything inside and so far everything is coming up fast and furious! I’m so excited! I kind of over seeded here and there, but it happens! 😂😂😂 I can always share with neighbors/family! Just got a few more seeds to start today but my shelf is already full! I need warmth outside….at least more than we have now! Central VA was nice and warm and then someone turned on the cold! I hope your family is well! I miss seeing your mom and grandma! Please give them my love! ❤❤❤
Which brand of dirt or company did the infected soil come from?
Gardening brings life to our souls ❤❤❤
i needed this video, i'm further north than you so my frost date is later which means my plants aren't as far along and i go crazy when i have to wait to see the little baby sprouts! i want the instant gratification and this scratched that itch for me lol maybe i can stop obsessively checking them 5 times a day 😂
Lol I know what you mean!!!!! 🙌🙌🙌
O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.
O fear the Lord, ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him.
Psalm 34:8-9 KJV
8:51 THANK YOU SO MUCH for teaching us about the Mugwort and mentioning the dreams.
I'm so glad for the freeze dried seeds update! I had been wondering about that,. Thank you!!
Love ❤this channel. Thx 😊
This lady is a great teacher. Magnetic personality and warm smile with a warm personality makes her videos easy to watch.
I've recently found your channel and am enjoying all the content from bees to herbs to foraging. I foraged for stinging nettles the last couple of years and have enjoyed the tea and soup i made with it. I hope to add a few more herbs like horsetail to my list this spring!
Some of these are part of my hand illustrated collection of medicinal plants, Nature provides all the bountiful benefits of true healing & Being ☀
STOP I have an entire bed of California poppy and so had absolutely no idea it has medicinal properties! (Binging your videos today)
Years ago I planted mugwort under my bedroom window not realizing how it would affect me. 😂 I ended up moving it to the other end of the garden!
P.S., I do plan on getting your course.
You have a lot of work this spring. You are fortunate and blessed to have so much property. I bought lots of seed and started some plants out back and in pots couple years ago. I wanted to grow everything medicinal. I found out my soil doesnt want to grow much here in canada. I had pots all over , too many. That was a learning experience. I now know what i can grow, and what do i need, want to keep around.
Hello there!
Have you made any kind of videos related to showing your routine on how you tackle your daily task and such?
My husband and I are looking to start a homestead in the near future and it all seems kind of intimidating as far as what to take care of first and to harvest and plant and pick first.. Animal care and bee care..
I'm sure it will all come to us as we go!
I’m so excited that my skullcap is popping up! I’m hopefully adding numerous medicinals this year, if I can alive them through the season! Thanks for all you do 🙏.
Thank you for video. As always very informative and a happy way to start my morning❤Hope to see your mom in videos soon!
I loved your jacket! Would you mind sharing where you got it? I look forward to each new video❤
You remind me so much of my daughter. Her looks, mannerisms, voice and personality were nearly identical! Thanks for the great tips and suggestions.
I'm loving all your videos, especially when you're family is involved! I'm still catching up on all of them.
I have tried to go to your Amazon storefront, but for some reason, it pulls up The Honeystead Apothecary when i start typing, but when I click on it, I don't see anything indicating your products, lists, store, etc.
Thank you for all y'all do!!!
Amazed at your knowledge, dumb Ole Kentucky gentleman here.😊
Wonderful 🌻🐝Thank you for sharing ✌️💖🤟✨️🧚♂️
I love seeing all your little baby plants! This time of year is so fun! I'm expanding my gardens again this year. There is so much I want to grow, and I have been woefully lacking in fruit! We have an apple tree and a pear tree, but we don’t get those until fall. I started a small strawberry patch last year, and this year I'm planning for blackberries, cantaloupe, and a few dwarf fruit trees. I do have a passion flower coming from Baker Creek. And I have 3 fig cuttings that I'm trying to coax into sprouting. It's going to be a fun and busy year!
Willow water is a great plant stimulator for your seedlings.
Im ready to start my herb seeds . I should have already got this done but better late than never. 😊
Just wondering how the bees settled in ? Moves can be interesting ! ❤
I hear with horse radish that the littlest root will make a new plant.
I just took some house started seeds to the greenhouse and realized I have to get others out to make room for spring starts.😂 The radishes are bolting and the celery is a bush!
Cool video. I am still waiting for you and Jill to do another livestream collaboration. Good stuff.
Greetings from Wisconsin 👍
I love growing my horseradish. It does get big, and it has a mind of its own. I'm finding it in other raised beds.. it likes to roam. 😅
Looked up "sunchoke" / Jerusalem Artichoke...found it has been recently called "Fartichoke" in Europe. Since I also have problems with apples, I guess it is not for me!!!
Roll Virginia allot, lately Mechanicsville etc.
Those trays look strong!
Name please?
Seedlings are beautiful ❤❤❤
❤😊
Toano, Norfolk and Chesapeake areas.😮
Where do you purchase your seeds?… especially your medicinal herbs… thanks 😊
🍓
I’ve recently seen that horseradish greens are edible: cooked or raw - tastes similar to arugula - can add to coleslaw etc for a nice peppery taste. It is an anti- inflammatory & immune support. What is your knowledge on this?
I don't know. Looks to me like your Astragalus is a straggling. LOL
👍
What size grow bags are those in your high tunnel?
I was wondering where you purchase your medicinal seeds? I’m looking to expand my garden but not sure where to get good seeds.
Do you know anything about the Egyptian Blue Lous Flower as a healthy herb? Thx Kaley
I have heard that Golden Rod Tincture is good for allergies. What herbs are good for high blood pressure?
What soil did you use for your babies?
Hey girl, I could use your help. Early February, here in Missouri, it was extreme cold temps ans had snowed. I had a flat tire on my truck tire. I called AAA to change it and they did, but they showed up between 11pm and midnight and I had to shovel the snow so he could access the tire. Feb 11th at work, I recognized I had a sinus infection and it was full blown. I called doctor's office and left a message asking for a prescription to be called in. I waited and waited but nothing. So, I saw a nurse practicioner at urgent care and she agreed I had a sinus infection and said I also had bronchitus. She ordered the z pak, then later told me to take Musinex with the guif?(don't remember how it's spelled). I took the whole box but not every 4 hours as I work in food service. Anyway the sinus infection had gone away and the bronchitis seemed at least lessened so I thought I was getting better but two or three days ago it seemed like it came back with a vengence. I'm seeing her again today at 1 pm. Do you have suggestions for a tea or something natural that I could be able to easily access, pretty please?
Apparantly I've gotten rid of the sinus infection and bronchitis and now I'm taking a mighty blow from allergies. Help?
Kaylee, how do I get a coupon code for the $284.00 class?
Cilantro, the anti-"contrail" herb 🌿 .✌
Hey Kaley i have a question for you i live in a house but its not mine and i want to grow comfrey and chamomile and lavender but i have to grow them in pots can i grow any of them in big pots please let me know thanks jen from saratoga springs ny
I live up North l like you, lavendar and chamomile do fine in pots. Comfrey needs room, it will get big. So if you can get a big pot for it , it should do fine. Be sure to winterize them, especially the lavendar.
A little bit chilly??
Do you use camomile flowers or leaves for tea. I'm growing it for the first time this year!
The flowers are used, I think Kaylee might have a video
Hi Kaylee, I also have a homestead here in Virginia. Joined your channel to learn more about herbalism. Great channel. I am still pretty new on TH-cam, but learning. What part of Virginia are you in, I am in SW Virginia in Wise County.
Tips on keeping cilantro from bolting ?
Keep trimming it back.
I am in the high desert, and we grow in mostly shade. This year, I will start in summer and use it as a fall crop.
Cilantro likes cool weather. There are varieties that are slow.to bolt, however.
The variety Slow Bolt does not go to seed very quickly.
Do you e er just get overwhelmed.
