It's considered polite to sign and speak with people.
A lot of people don’t know ASL/BSL soo they speak slowly so deaf people can read their lips... it’s not the most effective but sometimes it helps the deaf person if they aren’t able to write back and forth
I did it a lot too when I was working at McDonalds. Speaking is a habit we do automatically
Maybe in attempt for them to read her lips? It is funny tho lol
I normally do this when I’m at the register because I’ll use my mouth to really express what I’m saying but most of the time we’ll just write but obviously at a drive thru it’s hard to write. I’m working on my ASL tho so hopefully soon I don’t have to do that

Same I want to learn sign language one day. For now I watch her videos and just turn on captions, so thank you to whoever translates and writes out the captions which allow me to enjoy her videos.
First learn the alphabet in sign by heart. Then go from there.
Once you learn the alphabet it is easy!
dominic aurelien if you go to school and the class is offered take it! if its not, make a notion and have support to bring an asl class to your school. ifff you dont go to school at all, there’s programs and textbooks (eh) for learning sign and deaf culture.

@@kristalann5151 I don't want to step on any of the community's toes here, as I'm a hearing person, but as far as I understand deaf people can enjoy music as well. The vibrations probably have a lot to do with it, but there's also the fact that not all deaf people have total hearing loss. Again, though, I don't want to speak for a community I'm not a part of so if I have any of that wrong, deaf community please feel free to correct me.

Deaf people cake through my work and I was very patient and worked with them and made sure everything was correct for them. I wish I knew sigh language very well- and wish that my school would teach that.
They come through my work as well. But it becomes very difficult if they try the drive through

Texting is an awesome way for hearing impaired and hearing people to communicate. I have a friend/classmate who's deaf and communicating through text is great. I've been trying to pick up any sign language that I can as well.

Sssophie i learned by watching videos on youtube. mainly songs. play the video in .5 playback speed so it’s slower. and then since you learned the song, you learned all the words in the song

FUNNY STORY TIME: I'm a hearing woman but my mom is deaf and she would always pull up a little farther so I could order from the back seat. Anyways, one time we went to order coffee but my mom's guy friend, who is also deaf, was driving and let's just say when we pulled to pay the cashier had the most startled look on his face 😂 I actually heard him say, "I'm so confused," as we were driving away. My mom and her friend had a good laugh.
