My heart broke that Shay died and see Severide struggle a lot to deal with her death. Their friendship is one of a kind. I wish they never killed her in the show but I still love Chicago Fire.
I've seen that first hand when I was a kid. My dad's department lost three members in a big warehouse fire and a year later they put the names of the three fallen members on the side of the rig. That was fifteen years ago and the rig is still in service as a reserve engine

Being Ukrainian I can understand Russian, what Otis said before he died - there should have been a follow-up where three men in uniform stand by Otis' memorial. One is trying to attach something to it., Hermann and Cruz come out and at first are incensed but then in broken English one of the men explains that they are from Chernobyl Fire Company 7 the company whose men ran into the deadly Reactor 4 at Chernobyl. Otis' uncle was one of those who ran in, and they are attaching a medal from the Ukrainian government given to the relatives of the heroes of Chernobyl....Cruz hugs the man attaching the medal and helps him complete the job, in his mind he hears the words Otis spoke. When its done, all step back and salute the memorial and FF Otis.

I lost it when they all saluted and revealed her name, there's always a con to every job out there, the most unfortunate con to working as a firefighter or as any job which requires you to put your self in danger, is that there is always the possibility that you might lose your best friend, your family, your lover, and possibly your parents, But the one thing that keeps firefighters to be happy with what they're doing is that its a family and no amount of tragedy can change that thank you, Leslie Elizabeth Shay, your legacy will live on 🙏🙏🙏
