No your a little messed up there. Rivalry after Texas leaves is definitely TTU vs UH (not so much because UT and UH were necessarily rivals, but UH REALLY REALLY REALLY HATES Texas, as they are primarily the reason why UH got kicked out of the P5). People forget UH played with UT, A&M, SMU, Rice, Arkansas, TTU, Baylor, and TCU for 40 years in the SWC.
And really it would more likely be Iowa State, Colorado and OSU as rivals from the Big 8.

People who remember the HISTORY of college football, guess when it all started and WHY....go back to when The University of OKLAHOMA (OU) and Georgia filed a lawsuit vs the NCAA. It was a 1980 lawsuit teams being on TV a limited amount of times. Start with that now move forward to August 2023.

I didn’t care for Utah being added since I’ve seen so much talk from them about being too good to come to the Big 12. I guess that money was talking huh? Changed your minds when you found out you weren’t going to get paid unless you passed out Apple subscription pamphlets.
That being said I’m sure BYU is happy to have a shot to play them every year in conference if they come over. It could make for some memorable games. There is no question the Utes can play ball, but that doesn’t mean I like them coming over.

So now winning your division in your conference is gonna essentially be like winning your conference. You can literally fill in 8 of the 12 playoff spots just with division winners from the Power Four conferences then the last 4 spots are at large bids.

Something fun that will never happen: BYU, ND, Baylor, TCU and Rice join with Stanford and Cal to form the core of a new conference.
One division could be the religious schools, the other could be secular. The religious schools will play for trophies like the "Ark" and "Golden Plates" and the other schools can play for the Antikythera mechanism or something.

The Big12 is the big winner out of this mess. The Big10 will rue the day it added the rump Pac12 to its conference.
No, it won't. None of this is about winning. It's about media markets and money. And in that arena, they are clearly winning. Despite not winning nearly as much as the SEC, they were already the wealthiest conference.
If the Big 10 added Oregon St and Washington St, I could see your point.

Big 12 should go after Oregon State for baseball and Florida State for football
Florida State is locked into a 120 million or so exit fee. So, not gonna happen. Plus, they would be in-demand to join the SEC or B1G.

Did you know that the last time a school won their first ever NC was UF in 1996? Ever since, every team has already won before and many repeats of the same teams since. It's gotten more boring since greed has really taken hold.

Most big10 games will be one sided and unwatchable. I would kick out Rudgers and Maryland who dont care about their sports programs.
Maryland is a great basketball program and a good football program.
You just write anything I see. UMD is in the top 3 in the conference in BIG Championships and National Championships since it joined the league. Not bad for a program that doesn’t care about its sports.
@@scdb12 Yep. A lot of these guys don't know anything outside of football. They don't realize there is more to these conference realignments than that, despite what the media makes it seem. Also, Maryland is a big media market for the Big10.
