Jump cuts and splitting clips in iMovie iPad & iPhone

i tried splitting the clip multiple times and i moved it to where i want to cut it on the timeline but everytime i touch the timeline it takes me back to the clip so i can’t split it. what do i do?

When tapping the clip it jumps straight back to the beginning. How do you solve that?

Yeah this happens to me to. And I can’t see the split button. When I press actions nothing happens.

But what I find real sad is that the other editing software I use is premiere rush but rush has like black boxers on top making the thing a square and the iMovie has boarders on the bottom and I can’t find out how to crop so I’ll probably have to download a cropping app and the thing is. Downloading and upload videos from so many apps takes up time and scape bro. Also the iMovie has a cool feature where you can like make zooms on images so it basically becomes a clip but you can’t split it so it’s just sad

You’re probably trying to split a photo instead if a video. I had the same problem

Can you zoom in exact for every zoom cut you split or are you somewhat guessing where you zoomed in from last one you did? Hope I’m explaining it to where it makes sense. Lol. Basically if u zoom in on multiple clips u split, can you zoom them in exactly all the same. Are there any numbers telling how far in you zoomed in?

I can open video in iMovie, I can see video frames at bottom, but I can get no yellow or blue bars or tools of any kind. Why do no instructuinal videos start at beginning and go step by step to help complete novices.
