Navika Kumar , chose to christen him the "most eligible bachelor" in the country and asked him probing questions on his love life.
"All the young girls in the country are floored by you right now," Navika told him, speedily following it up with whether Chopra was dating anyone.
No, he said, adding that sports was his focus at the moment. Navika's disappointment was palpable. Couldn't he focus on sports, she asked, and "keep" a girlfriend at the same time?
The next couple of minutes were devoted to what Chopra thought about being the "most eligible bachelor". This is, in the channel's own words, "good news for girls".

Javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra, who made history on August 7, 2021 by winning India's first-ever gold medal in athletics at the Tokyo Olympics, was born on December 24, 1997 to a family of farmers from Khandra village near Panipat in Haryana. He graduated from Dayanand Anglo-Vedic College in Chandigarh.
His mother Saroj Devi is a housewife and father Satish Kumar is a farmer. Since he was overweight, Chopra was always persuaded by his family to take up sports. Later, he decided to try his luck at javelin throw and started training at the Shivaji Stadium in Panipat.

What Neeraj does well is he understands that if he keeps working hard he will, by far, be the most undisputed greatest Indian (and may be Asian although I may not have full details) athlete of all time. He also understands that the lifetime of an olympian is short, very short and he needs to make the most of it. May be he also understands that if and when his time comes to retire he could have multifarious opportunities be it a sports panelist in TV channels, commentator, coach, etc. SO the time he needs to put in now is precious and hence he needs to be focused.
On the other hand, the questions from the presenter here are just lame and were probably better suited for an early 90's time. Moreover, an experienced presenter and news channel should refrain from posing personal questions on national TV. This isn't a typical "Chaai ki Tapri" that you could babble anything you want and that too with a top athlete. Just imagine that had the same questions were posed by a male journalist to a female athlete then all hell would have broken loose. Professionalism lies in being professional to a Top athlete by asking relevant questions.
