- B20 block with B16 cylinder head and found valves are making contact with the pistons. Bent 1ea Intake valve as a result. Repaired by fly cutting valve relief .

Very informative. Very detailed. So grateful for this channel.
Thank you my brother!
so glad i just found you this is probably one of the most informative channels ive seen thank you
Thank you brother and l sure have a handfull correcting how this B20 will run good!
Very informative content the best
Lagyan natin ng g23 ang fit mo choi!
You’re the best!
Thanks my friend!
Hello sir. On this B20, what caused the piston to valve contact? Was the head or block milled to increase compression? What type of pistons are those? Are there bigger lift camshafts? Was it because the cam gears were advanced too much?
It's OE piston for B20 (PHK piston) and using a base B16 cams. Even though the ex camgears was adjusted full max advanced, lucky it didn't hurt the valves. Now that l researched a bit and l think the only way the valves will hit the pistons is the 2 dowel pins. Somehow its a bit loose and maybe somehow it shifted and that's how it made contact on the piston. Maybe the OE ( phk) pistons dobt really have enough valve relief when a B16 head is mated on the block. The compression on the motor was 9 something to 1 ratio. According to zealautowerks.com. B20/ B16 (PHK piston)
And thank you very much.
Omg I have also b20V, it’s a b16 head and was having overheating issues then it started leaking coolant into cylinder number one and 2.
I removed the cylinder head and found my pistons look like this🤦🏻♂️ I really thought it was normal but I just saw this and no it’s not lol. I just send my cylinder head to 4Piston like 3 weeks ago and now I have to check my valves and either fix my pistons like you did or change them but I really don’t have the money to change pistons so I’ll probably end up doing this I’m just getting tired of all this idk what I’m gonna do but it sucks because I was really excited to get the 4Piston head on and slap my turbo back on. Now I’m just tired n don’t know what to do😥
And also I had check the compression a lil while back and it was at 175 all 4 and to me that was a lil to low idk if this is why.
No worries man! If you have not put them together yet, you still have time to check it and repair the piston by widening it a bit. Check you dowel pins, make sure its not loose on the block. I think the reason for the damaged was a combination of both. Tight clearances and loose dowel pins. If the dowel pins are loose, the head could migrate and sinced it was a tight clearance, its only inevitable that the piston will kiss the valve.
We got same results except that "4 is 210 psi. The correct way actually is to run the engine till the fan turn on( normal temp). Shut it down and wait for a few minutes and take your reading. It should change, as long as your compression is not lower than 130 psi and 10 or 20% varience between cylinders. Your okay, we let it go coz the owner was thinking of boosting it in the near future.
@@sagittnet2158 thank you I will start working on fixing the piston a bit like you did here appreciate the content you make it helps a lot!. Much love and respect stay blessed 🙏🏼
@@yeetplays3421 no problem man! and thanks
Yup uncle he shouldnt have used a adjustable cam if you are running a stock phx pistons .. whoever built that motor 1st got it all smash the valve and piston accidentally and might have not timed it good
Yes p'mangkin! When l've seen it, oh man! What is goin on here, there's really not much valve relief for the b16 valves.
@@sagittnet2158the body shop open the engine kua because they cant figure it out why my engine is running crazy. And thats what happen kuya noel they adjust the timing super off.
