If you just try to snap it off without doing the proper procedure there is a good chance you will damage the clips on the mirrors and the replacement caps won't snap on.
Because there's a very high likelihood of damaging the retention tabs on the mirror and then the caps will no longer retain to the mirror and you're stuck replacing the mirror and the caps instead of just the caps.

Just added summit white caps to my 2020 sierra install only took 20 min thanks to this walk thru. Much appreciated!
Glad we could help!
Thanks for posting this. Hope mine is as easy as this 👍
No problem,. follow the video and it shouldn't be bad!
So I don't need to do any of that. I can just pop it off and snap it back on correct?

I can't get the glass free. I felt the mirror glass start cracking. Maybe I need to order a couple mirror glasses to b safe.
Gentle pulling generally will do the trick!
Or you can just carefully pry it off, throw the old caps in the trash and install your new caps...
Too funny, was halfway through the video and saw your comment, worked like a champ.
Just did it your way, the smart way, and it worked perfect. Turned this unnecessary 15 minute job into a 1 minute job
Exactly what I did too. Way easy and way faster. Just remember it's plastic.😃😃
Color matched door handles, would be awesome if you offered those too.
I'll relay the idea to the development team!
Gmc offers the door handles
@@tampabayflatsfanatic5118 but unpainted or chrome unless they started offering color match
Thanks for the video
Glad it helped
Do you guys have any summit white ones?
We don't offer painted caps, but we do offer paint ready ones.
It’s a T15 torx. Allen’s won’t remove the screw. Should’ve been noted.
Correct - it is a T15.
Why would someone go to all this trouble to replace the cap when you could just get a straight screw driver and pull it off
