So glad I found a new player guide that isn't a standard cookie cutter 5 minute video saying the same thing as 50 other videos. Liked and commented for algorithm senpai.
Should be noted that on the attributes menu, some weapons are slightly brighter or darker. That is how the weapon is affected by dual stat scaling. For example, spear is brighter in dex, which means it scales better with dex than str.
I just want to say that I just started playing New World yesterday and this video is probably one of the most informational videos I've ever watched! You did a fantastic job breaking down all of the things and made my first time playing an MMO not as intimidating. Just wanted to express my appreciation.
Great video. As someone that took on New World as their first MMO, this guide was extremely helpful. Additionally, as an added bonus I liked how you kept re-affirming people to not worry about overanalyzing things or making wrong decisions...really helps to quell anxiety of newer, anxious players :)

Just finished watching the guide, great video! Just got New World on sale and needed to get up to speed. Watched a couple videos but this was, by far, the best.
Just here to give some beginner advice: whatever you do, do not waste your time and resources becomming a crafter. 1 year ago before umbural shards were added, being a crafter was a very good idea, but now it is the biggest mistake you can possibly make. You should just focus on grinding dungeons and bumping your expertise that way. I taught that i could just craft 600GS items as a crafter and that would get my expertise to that level.Nope, it only bumps it by 2 points if you craft it. It costs about 200k+ coins on my server to even be able to craft 600GS. Now, after 1 year and wasting 500k+ coins and a lot of time on being able to craft 600GS arcane and armor, my expertise is still just 520 and i have to bump it the slow way. as a crafter, getting 600GS items is very easy and the stats on them are incredible, but you cant get to 625 without grinding gypsom/dungeons so do not make the same stupid mistake as i have, whatever you do, do not become a crafter.
This helped me quite a bit. I just forged my staff for the main quest. Been taking my time looking at the beauty of the game and using it as a distraction from the real world. Your guide has allowed me to be readily prepared!

In the quest journal there is a reset button. I had some trouble with the first quest where the guy didnt recognize Id made my skinning knife. Reset fixed that.

Just a heads up, Sword and Shield can dish out some descent damage for a DPS. Choice in shield can help. Round shield tends to do more damage. Been playing around with it, and have been pleasantly surprised. Just don't slot a taunt gem.
Does anyone els think they should add the chain blades that are in god of war? That would be sick or like a wreaking ball with spikes on a chain that’s half range half mele
For how much the game has been and will be changed, this guide definitely needs to be revisited and revised, its so good already but a lot of stuff in the guide aren't as important now, like azoth and fast traveling or how they plan to connect all sheds together without needing to be in same faction zones or needing to pay for item transfers. Spectacular guide nonetheless!
This is a great guide. Really appreciate the work you put in. I think on the subject of the game making money, there’s probably a proportion of Amazon Prime membership money being put toward the game. They seem to be encouraging Prime with a few cosmetic rewards each month.
hi is strange in new world. so you can't do pvp faction quests with a group? but i seen they were in a group doing pvp no?. it says can't do pvp quest in a pve group. so you can't do pvp faction quests with ur friends?

Iv’e watched at least a dozen videos that all skip over this most basic question… how do I get tools? Without an axe i cannot do daily logging. Without a pick I cannot mine. Without a knife I cannot skin the animals I kill! The biggest question of all is why is nobody answering these vital questions. Is there some rule in the game that forbids answering these questions? What gives? Why the secrecy?
Do you still lose the home if you do not pay taxes? I am new to this game, and that is one thing I was unsure of. This is the only place I have heard that you lose the home if you do not pay taxes.
This is amazing, I just started played on the Xibalba server, and im thinking about making a new character, because I did not take advantage of farming and trying to level trade skills early on, would this be wise? And can I send myself items that I have already gotten?
unfortunately you cant send yourself new items. you could start over if you want, or you can just go level them up now on your existing character. no big deal, you havent bricked your character :)

Hey me and my friend are at different points in the game, we wanna play together but if i help him do his side quests and main quest wouldnt i be wasting my time because i wouldnt be getting xp from doing their quests? Should we get to the same point in the main story and just do that together? Just confused
i'd have your friend catch up on the quests you did. while he does that you level your gathering and then proceed together when he catches up. you can also do town board quests while you wait

If you dont pay the weekly tax for the house you do not lose the house, you just lose the bonus' from owning it and the adds in it.
I know this just got released on PC so don't show me any hate but maybe it'll get released for console someday :)

This video was very informative. The only question I have unanswered is how do I get my faction reputation past level 2? It seems to be capped there.

@@MarkOut1 no there is a specific quest you need to do. Not the three faction quests, it’s a gold quest it sends you to another city

No you don't lose it, just have to pay them to use it properly again
you don't get the benefits of having one if you do not pay , like the fast travel and trophy buffs
