The bit about going on Strictly and level of intrusion ... it'll be interesting how Chris McCausland negotiates this. He went out of his way to not mention his family the entire series. He's already pulled out of the Strictly regional tour.
He didn't pull out of the tour, his schedule was booked before and both he and the producers assumed he wouldn't win/go far and so him being booked up wouldn't be a problem :)
I'm trying to think of loveable everyman comedians..... only one's I can think of are Peter Kay and Michael McIntyre. I mean most comedians I can think of neither fit into the loveable everyman category or the dark humour category, they are just their own thing.
@@carlgibson285 Those are good examples I guess. I tend to find anyone is capable of being a bad person though. I mean with someone like Jim Davidson, for example, he's not a nice person either on stage or off it, could be called a 'dark' comedian, but he was also very mainstream at one time. It would ruin my world if it turned out Adam Buxton was not a nice guy, he does come across as a nice guy on stage, but if he's ever done something a bit iffy he often calls himself out on it, like the time he used his privilege to get out of paying a parking ticket.
@@ChrisH78 I guess we can only speculate. I heard stories about Russell Howard being a bit of a tyrant behind the scenes, making people cry with his demands over what he's producing. Fern could be talking about anyone. Nice to hear McIntyre is probably a nice guy, I'm not a fan of his comedy but the more nice people in the world there are the better in my opinion. I like me some dark humour, but never been a fan of bullies.
Always love to see Fern.
Ah! Been eagerly awaiting this one - on my pod list for this afternoon! 👍
Great lady, Fern Brady!
Ferny such a great character x
I have also been interrupted whilst conversing with the Peacocks at End of the Road Festival.
Hello Julia.
Her book is a very good read on any level.

She should be on between two ferns
The Zach/Fern chaos energy might form a supermassive chaos singularity.
Depends on where she sits tho really. She could be next to 2 Ferns!

She seems nice.

I guess it depends on exactly how you define loveable everyman comedians, but I'd also include John Bishop, Jason Manford and Mickey Flanagan.

@lloroshastar6347 I'd be devastated too if Adam Buxton turned out to be a wrong 'un since he's one of my comedy heroes!
I've heard McIntyre is a lovely bloke. Peter Kay is an arsehole but just in that Yorkshire way rather than anything metoo.
