3 years late but I’ve actually had a nightmare about Kids Bop singing Uma Thurman. It’s went a little like this: I was walking down the school halls, about to leave. I had stayed late to help one of my teachers, it was nearing the end of the school year and he needed help packing up. As I walked down the hallway to the staircase that led to the door, a few Kids Bop kids came up from the other side of the hall and began singing Uma Thurman. Jacob Sagittarius emerged from a classroom and began singing with them. “What the fuck is going on?” I exclaimed, cupping my hands over my ears to attempt to cover the sound of their horrid singing. As they continued singing, their singing grew louder and they began marching closer towards me. “They’re singing one of their songs,” a girl said, appearing from what appeared to be thin air. (Mind you, i have never met this girl before, but I vaguely remembered seeing her around somewhere in the school) “Their song?” I ask. “Uma Thurman is by Fall Out Boy!” “Really?” She asks. I nod. “Of course, it’s from their album, American Beauty/American Psycho!” “Well then...” she says. “Why are they singing it?” From the distance, some screaming attracts my attention. There, at the other end, was Pete, Patrick, Andy and Joe, yelling their heads off while staring at the children, who were now halfway through the hall, still approaching us. “What the fuck is going on?” I ask once again, but when I looks around, the girl has disappeared. As I turn back around, I see the 4 men sprinting towards me. “Come on!” Pete tells as he grabs my hand, pulling me towards the giant glass window at the end of the hall. The window was big enough for all 5 of us to jump from at the same time, but we were 2 stories up. We would never make it. Before I could process anything, I was running with the 4 incredibly short men, getting closer and closer towards the window. “Hang on!” Pete yelled to me. “What?” I asked him. He didn’t answer, he just kept running, firmly holding my wrist. His painted nails cut into the skin covering my bony wrists, and was surely going to leave a mark. Frankly, I didn’t mind. It wasn’t every day you’d have fingernail-marks from Pete Wentz. As I was about to ask him about what really happened in the summer of 2005, Andy transformed into a giant green dragon. Patrick and Joe hopped on, and Pete threw me on as he pulled himself up behind me. As Andy began to soar, staying close to the ground, I inspected the marks on my wrist. Not too bad, but they were definitely going to scar. Now safely secured between Joe and Pete, I realized that the glass was barely even 2 metres away from us. “The glass-“ I began, but it was too late. Andy flew headfirst into the glass window, shattering it and flying straight out into the school’s courtyard. “That kinda hurt,” Andy said, his voice perfectly soft and normal. I liked Andy’s voice. You could tell he was vegan by just listening to the way he talked. As we flew away from the school, I looked behind us just in time to see it being completely blown up. Pieces of glass and brick flew outwards, I caught sight of all the staff hiding behind a portable classroom to protect themselves. The Kids Bop kids’s van could be seen, zooming away with all the children inside it. How the school blew up, still remains a mystery. So do the events of the summer of 2005. However, at least I got to hold Pete Wentz’s hand. Even if we were running for our lives. And then I woke up. (How I remember all this, I have no clue. I think I’ve written it down in my journal, tho, it was simply so bizarre.)
