this is what happens when GM's rely more on memorization of openings and their variations instead of relying on creativity over the board and understanding the position. Old masters didnt played with high accuracy because they didnt memorized openings and remained creative and true to their playing style like anderssen like attacking so he always played risky and capablanca like endgames so he used to avoid complex middlegame but nowadays every one wants to play in same style for e.g come out of opening equally and dont lose pawns and blunder pieces in the middlegame and only show some creativity if left based on position in the endgame. This modern GM's have done nothing incredible rather than making the game LOOK BORING. Engines like Alphazero have showed us that attacks like tal, kasparov , fischer or bronstein is still possible no matter what opening do you play. As a Chess lover its very sad to see that Grandmasters who are the sole promoters of this game are making this game boring and drawish day by day.....the only thing they care about is their ELO rating and nothing else.

Attacking like Alphazero is only possible if you can calculate like an engine. It is completely false there is no more risk in chess, just diferent styles. We just saw a WCC full of action, for instance... This is the age of computers and it has its characteristics as any other chess era, but it is not boring, just more precise. You may enjoy it less, though, but it is a completely personal appreciation.
