I found that lengthy, timed break-in silly myself. I've broke in alot of 2-stroke dirt bike and OPE engines over the years, and I do them pretty much the same way you do. When I got my Blackhawk, I did it the way they wanted me to, as outlined in the manual (X RPM for X minutes, rinse, repeat), just to be safe on the warranty. They're also pretty adamant about the 50:1 mix - I like to run Amsoil Sabre at 100:1 in high revving, high working, air cooled 2-strokes ... but I don't want to void any warranty should anything go south. Plus, this engine is alot bigger (190cc) than most handheld OPE (bigger bearings, bigger cylinder, bigger everything) that run Sabre at the super-lean ratio ... but at the same time, Sabre is VERY thick oil. That mix ratio scares alot of people, but I've seen it with my own eyes the lack of wear, and the lack of carbon buildup in the exhaust port and piston crown. I have a neighbor that runs it in his Stihl saw he got brand new, and cut 10 acres of trees with it, without ever having the thing apart! Pretty impressive. I like the stuff ... want to run it in the Talon 190, but I'll stick with Dominator once she's fully broken in, just to maintain the 50:1 ratio. Good stuff, Kyle! I could talk about engines all day long. 👍🍻
Kyle, that bungee mod is great! Would you be willing to say what materials one would need to emulate this? It looks like there's a small caribeener on the harness side... Then there's the cord... Does it only allow a little stretch? And then how does it secure to the throttle cable? Thanks a ton! I always learn so much from you!
More comfortable than the Dudek Powerseat Comfort?! Wow that's really saying something. I love my Dudek Powerseat Comfort harness so I'm definitely gonna have to try that harness. That bungee addition for the throttle cable is the best idea I've seen yet for a paramotor. I'm adding that to mine asap. Super informative video thanks Kyle!
Very informative and loving your enthusiasm Kyle. Always entertaining. 🤘🏼 I assume you are around 200lbs. Do you think the atom gives you an adequate climb rate for your personal flying or would you choose the 185 for your general flying missions?
The Kyle O method. Makes perfect sense to me. I love it. You have me convinced to put the bungees on both of my throttle cables. Are you attaching the bungees with zip ties? Also how far from the motor up the throttle cable are you attaching it? Thanks Kyle.
Maybe Paramotors are different but my 2-stroke Echo Weed Eater, I gave it Hell right from the Package-its 12 years old now and has never Failed-changed plug one time just for the heck of it-nothing else ever done. I have had many two stroke machines including Motorcycles-the only problem with two strokes is, they don't like to Idle for Long Periods of Time...
So Kyle... you said you also have the 50 m hoop 40 m prop macfly I just purchased one should be arriving this week from Matt do you notice more thrust with the extra large prop ?
If you don't get a haircut soon, you're going to need a bungee on your mop! Keep the videos going, man. Just took my 10th flight this afternoon- lovin' it!
Very nice mate, similar to the Air conception frame, Titanium is amazing! saved my arse a few times... Jesus bolt on the swing arms is my only concern. Love the bungee fix
Thanks for the insight, tips and bringing us along... I WAS pretty well convinced I wanted a maverick 185... but now am starting to look at all of the brands again. I hope to only need about 4 more months of saving before I’ll have enough to make a purchase. 8 of my ten fights in training so far were maverick 185, was able to borrow an AC nitro 200, for the last two as the 4 spring 2019 mav had a cracked exhaust. Really was eye opening by how those seemingly small differences between brands can have so much effect on feel.
Great video as usual. Thank you! To help prevent the throttle cable from impacting the prop, I was taught to wrap the cable over my arm. With your throttle arm extended straight out, take the throttle and lift it over your arm from the outside and bring it to the inside. Then insert unto your hand. You lose no flexibility in flight but by doing this the cable can no longer extend back far enough to ever impact the prop. Also the price point must be a contributing factor with the Macfly. In my opinion the Parajet Maverick appears to be far superior.
Is that Albert Einstein off your right shoulder or Al Sharpton? Just curious. 17:50. Kyle, I liked your safety check at end but my Fresh Breeze has more J.B. Weld on it than metal. They call me Suicide Bill here now. Hell, I've lived long enough anyway.
still prefer the top 80 as its developed over 20 years and i have never been let down , also i am 80 kg naked and fly on half throttle fly 3hours on 4 ltrs to 4.5 ltrs so 5 ltrs covers the 3 hour flight fine , the atom 80 looks good with a smidge of increased power but has to prove itself , also i fly with a 115 e- prop on a 125 miniplane frame so anyone flying with a 120 or bigger prop will save fuel further and tax the engine even less.
Hi Kyle, I have the Sup’Air and you are dead on with leg straps. Super comfortable in flight but I can’t tighten enough to not have to use my hand after launch to get in seat. Did they also loose the attachment from left leg strap to chest strap? Looked like it.
Erik Bangtson . Loosen the leg straps some. I was taught to leave about a fist of space when sizing. Also make sure your shoulder straps are not too tight. This causes the seat to be lifted up making getting in the seat difficult. While wearing your motor you should be able to lift on the swing arms and have the seat easily deploy underneath you. I have to completely loosen all of the straps on my Maverick for proper seat position. I am 6’ 5”. Best.
Phobia thanks for reply...I will play with it more. My legs straps are pretty loose. And my shoulders are too. I am 6’2 and 178. I was between a large and medium on harness. Went with large for winter flying. Maybe I will try and set up a home hang test and see what adjustments I can make.
Kyle, if you can't make the throttle go in there, don't worry, it'll find a way to go in there. I guess they wanted the space open for easier carb adjustment? Big mistake. Close it up. This is stick my head in a prop Bill. Trade idea. You give me an hour of instruction. I show you how to hypnotize a chicken. Deal? Ha! I wrote the above before I saw you "attempt" to start it standing alone!
Why don't you just route throttle cable over your hand? This way it will never get into prop. Works on any paramotor. I still hate those huge gaps in Macfly netting
Gotta say the maverick is a way better frame. Parajet added a small elastic loop on the swing arm to prevent throttle cable getting through, although there netting covers nearly all the frame. And that netting is pretty poor. They have put looks over safety. Do they also suggest ground starting is safe? Just like a non clutched engine. If there was control over paramotor designs this would deffo not be sold. Damn them holes are massive!!!
he said he does have a full inventory, No trikes for school. much more work involved and more sea hags wanna fly and some never get up in the air. I'm sure he wants the younger guns. they learn much faster. more $$$$$ too.
No holes in a mini plane net. no cracked exhaust on a top 80. Air box direct connect to the frame. 30 years of refinements. Cheaper ( money wise) per operation hour, at purchase and replacement parts. (Though rarely needed). Why no interest???
Can you do a video on how to setup the harness? where it should sit on your back, how tight each buckle should be and its affects
Thanks for ALL the technical info...much appreciated!

Very inspirational Kyle!
I would love watching your channel and school grow. When I first started watching I did not even know your trained people.

VERY nice! Thanks for the videos....yours are so good! The arms look very similar to the Air Conception arms.
I dunno Kyle I think its a hybrid of the AC frame with a nirvana netting..
Dude, Have a think about and play with having the throttle cable coming over your forearm instead of under as it is much safer.
That’s a lot of gear!!! Congratulations Kyle!!! I’m Happy for ya!!! ;0) I like the outdoor hangcheck station. I need to build one of those!!!
Maybe Paramotors are different but my 2-stroke Echo Weed Eater, I gave it Hell right from the Package-its 12 years old now and has never Failed-changed plug one time just for the heck of it-nothing else ever done. I'm still saving up to buy one of those !
I am so fortunate to have one of the best instrutors !
So Kyle... you said you also have the 50 m hoop 40 m prop macfly I just purchased one should be arriving this week from Matt do you notice more thrust with the extra large prop ?
Never used an XL prop before.
If you don't get a haircut soon, you're going to need a bungee on your mop! Keep the videos going, man. Just took my 10th flight this afternoon- lovin' it!

Yup, looks like the swing arms are from the same manufacturer that supplies Air Conception...
Kyle O!!!!!
Wassup Kelly!
Kyle also I saw you got a red dobby I pick up my red male pup feb 3rd!! =D
thanks buddy! I think that's the best way to break in a motor. can't wait to fly with ya
Thanks for the insight, tips and bringing us along...

How do you feel about the atom 80 with a 175lb pilot?
So how do you like the sup air harness vs the dudek ?

Nope. No reason for the holes in the netting. Close em up. Mac Fly, CLOSE EM UP.
What was the name of the spring mod video or link?
Is that Albert Einstein off your right shoulder or Al Sharpton? Just curious. 17:50. Kyle, I liked your safety check at end but my Fresh Breeze has more J.B. Weld on it than metal. They call me Suicide Bill here now. Hell, I've lived long enough anyway.

Do you notice that chattering noise at lower rpm with the eprop vs. the Helix?
Yes, that's the gearbox teeth.
I noticed it on my top80 especially when I switched to eprop. Wasn't really there with the Helix
Hello can I put a dudek harness on a AC nitro like you used to have. $$$?
Sure Gerald, I have a brand new one in stock in L/XL, low hangpoint.
after the motor is already broken in is it still a good idea to let it idle for 30 sec before killing it after a full power climb?
Yes it is.
768th LOL Anyway Kyle I think you've sold me! Macfly for me!! Also LOVE your shit! It never stinks!!
3rd its a record!
Kyle, if you can't make the throttle go in there, don't worry, it'll find a way to go in there. I guess they wanted the space open for easier carb adjustment? Big mistake. Close it up. This is stick my head in a prop Bill.

Hey Kyle, If you end up looking to swap that spyke I learned on out of the lineup, let me know! Glad the school is going so well, Sir!
Gotta say the maverick is a way better frame. Parajet added a small elastic loop on the swing arm to prevent throttle cable getting through, although there netting covers nearly all the frame.

Are you talking about the frame, or hoop and netting? Cause Mav has better netting, but Macfly frame is more substantial.
Eclipse Atom 80 by flyproducts seems better.
Ha I got the first comment. Like your videos Kyle O
Thanks Jay!
Sorry to say you dont have your full inventory , what about a trike for those that cant run or have health problems?
he said he does have a full inventory, No trikes for school. much more work involved and more sea hags wanna fly and some never get up in the air. I'm sure he wants the younger guns. they learn much faster. more $$$$$ too.
My Issue with these videos is, I hate when they come to an END!!!!
First!
