    I like the attention on the redesign for the muffler issue.

    Noticed the heatshrink on the exhaust springs, nice added touch for safety!

      To keep metal parts from vibrating to a frequency of breakage and going through the prop,yes I would consider it an added touch for safety lol.@R0binss0n

    I'm amazed at how many parts, engines there are there. With competition, and the amount of people flying. They are definatly busy.

      The motor is important and Vittorazi is the motor of choice. Though I prefer a non clutched version. I wud look for a frame that is easily repaired (mine is stainless steel) can withstand a power forward, can swing a 130 cm prop. (mine is much smaller and burns more fuel with less thrust running the same motor) Frame breaks down within minutes and carries 12 litres or more in a hard tank. Don't forget a comfortable harness. Try many before your buy. Though cumbersome on the ground it's only for a few minutes. In the air is where you will need the comfort.

    Tell Vitto to check out the Polini factory, the muffler section, their mufflers last the life of the motor!

    Great to see the factory. I'm still hesitant to buy one though until I am certain that the cracking exhaust issue is finally over. Then I would certainly get one. The rest of the engine is awesome.

    • @minyardmatt
      @minyardmatt  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Parasportz well the best part is the new exhaust is fixed & made with a different design & new materials so that won’t happen anymore! We can sell you one with an extended warranty if you want one, let us know when you are ready fly@paramotorlouisiana.com

    • @parasportz
      @parasportz 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@minyardmatt Shouldn't the manufacturer sort out the issue rather than the end user needing to spend more money on an extended warranty or aftermarket pipe? I suppose time will tell on these new exhausts. I'm in Australia so a bit far away 😊

    • @minyardmatt
      @minyardmatt  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Parasportz the extended warranty is a standard I offer to all of my students to take great care of them, the manufacturer did sort out all of the problem which is why we are so booked up & sold out of the engines right now, everybody wants them because they are the best engines to buy right now, notice everyone in the world is talking about the motors for a good reason!

    • @minyardmatt
      @minyardmatt  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@parasportz the manufacturer already did sort it out. Every motor has a new exhaust, i bought some aftermarket exhaust to try them out and they are really low quality and the aftermarket exhaust is a huge flop... the vittorazi boys fixed up the design & its all good again. Time will tell on the new ones, at the moment i have not seen any failures so its holding up nicely for us.

    • @MrJdsenior
      @MrJdsenior 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@parasportz Exactly, paramotorers put up with really bad power plants, compared to how they SHOULD work for the damned money they get for them. They cost like small aircraft engines, and have 1/100th the reliability of LAWN MOWER engines (actually not even close to that, my 2 cycle lawn boy went 17 YEARS with no major engine parts, and that was with it LEFT OUTSIDE at least half of that time), and I mean that LITERALLY, to say nothing of CAR, or AIRCRAFT engines. I can't even find any specs on mean time between failure on any of them. I suspect I know WHY. I'm not too keen on putting my life in the hands of such unreliable junk. What I can find is video after video of "REALLY long" time spans without maintenance of 25 HOURS! Really, typically general aviation aircraft engines get YEARLIES for plugs, etc. and check overs, most times just routine maintenance is done at them, though a lot of inspection. Obviously oil changes are done on a regular schedule, but these engines have the oil changed every time you run them, so that's not an issue. Just sayin' But nobody's listening.

      @@minyardmatt if I could get the guy in Austrailia to make one of his Shape Shifter frames and I buy a motor only! But as it stands I'll be going through Aviator PPG for a Nitro as he hasn't gotten any funding to get started but the concept is fantastic for keeping my frame on the passenger seat of a big truck!!
      I only weigh on a good day and wet 120# and a 130 would be best for me but a 185 or the Nitro 200 will work. I'll just be on an elavator ride every time I inflate my wing on a windless day!!!
      That I can handle as I really dont like running that much;) And thrills have never bothered me like fast carnival rides! lol

    Sounds great, but Italian motors are not know for reliability. What’s the cost, excepted life expectancy, reliability & cost of ownership?

    • @minyardmatt
      @minyardmatt  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Matt Phillips hi these motors are the most reliable in the industry, they cost about $2500 - I’ve had several motors for the past 5 years that I still fly with daily, if you do some maintenance around 100-150 hours you can keep them running a long time. The reason why they outlast the other brands is they are de tuned so they are not at full capacity ever & that is the secret to a long lasting engine.

      Matt Minyard thanks for getting back to me so fast. I’m planning on learning to fly this spring and I’m torn, on one hand I’d like to learn close to home, but the instructor wants me to buy and learn on the equipment he sells. I’ve read you should buy equipment after you’ve trained. Not to mention he’s been to jail for tax evasion. On the other hand I would like to learn from an outfit likes yours. The local guy can get me trained with equipment for about $10K, which is my budget. Any advice would be welcomed. Thanks again for getting back to me so fast.

      Matt Phillips sure come visit me - I can let you train on all of my gear, I’ve never been to jail, never would I do someone wrong on choosing gear, ask about me if you want to find out why I’m always traveling to every international event representing the USA!

      cybervid07 yeah well the rumor is a lot worse that the real problem is all I have to say, I have 6 mosters at my school, none of the exhaust are broken, I haven’t broken one since 2014, I think it’s time for the fear to go away for everyone, it’s ridiculous to expect some part to break...

    I hear the new air box has come off and gone through several props. And I saw where Tucker had purposely gone in and tightened his, because of this, and when he went back in for maintenance the clamp had rotated on the box. Sounds like if they are going to do this they need to mount it better.
    Tucker does really like the engine, though, and said the new intake/exhaust makes it much more consistent throughout the RPM ranges. But the fact that you show all these points that needed improvement to make them last "longer" just proves what I was saying. Obviously you can't build a motor that will last forever, but for a long time, without maintenance, would be nice. And video after video after video of unintended power outs in the air, often with near or total destruction of the upper portion of the motor, and usually not that many flight hours. I'm betting a new jug (or is it lined) piston, rings, and seals aren't cheap.
    And you STILL didn't answer my question about Mean Time Between Maintenance, and MTB Failure.

    • @dickfitswell3437

      You should not mention TG as he is the laughing stock in the PPG community. His name is associated with cringing. Everyone knows he is bad for the sport because all he cares about is clicks and clout as made obvious when he ignored all safe practices and rules and called Dunkin donuts from the sky then landed in a congested area putting motorists at risk. All for clout. TG is laughed at and definitely not respected so prob don't mention him as it only makes you look just as bad as him and his reputation

    I hate seeing "best paramotor engine in the world" If it was the best, the damn exhaust wouldn't require welding every 25 hours! And the new "fix" did NOT work. It's still cracking....fix it Vitto!!! Your quality control truly sucks...and you should be embarrassed....

    When they quit supporting Dell I will have much more respect for them. I would never let that POS use and represent my products and it looks bad for them. We have a large parts company with our own brand name. If someone represents the product poorly we cut them off. Plus I will not be rejoining the official group because when I joined it before I had to see that POS posting about how awesome he was. There are enough dealers in the US dealing with Vittorazi you guys could easily put enough pressure on them to stop supplying him. Maybe back in the day he was a big player but he is a wart on a frog in the game now.
