For Mewtwo this past weekend, I was out literally all day Saturday and until 2 on Sunday. I ended the week with 87 raids and got absolutely skunked. 1 single shiny and nothing with IVs over 89%. No idea how I could have possibly don’t THAT badly but yea. Another thing to keep in mind. You can do everything in your ability and still end up with a huge let down. I did accumulate a massive number of XL Mewtwo candy so that’s a win but I was really hoping for a good shiny. Then the guy I was with got 4 shiny, 2 of them were able to be purified Shundos. (So 13/13/13 or better) It’s all in the roll of the dice.
@@brettwiederkehr386 At least you got shiny! Me after 24 raids (together in both days) non shiny at all. And since I just found out it is not possible to trade shadow pokemon -> thich means I even dont know if I ever be able to get shadow shiny Mewtwo! :( Ps. from these 24 raids I got 15 shadow Mewtwo only. And highest is only 86,7%!
I wouldn’t mind or at least make it like some of the other features where you can’t use it in the gold battle league, but you can use it in the raids. I wouldn’t mind that I think a fully maxed out shadow with breaking swipe and dragon ascend would be broken. Plain and simple. Even if there is Pokémon that wall it not every trainer is going to have those Pokémon so the vast majority of the time it’s just going to be broken and unfair but I would love for it to be for me to use in raids as a shadow
What is lacking in consideration in keeping and powering up shadows is the resource that the player have. Shadows are way glassier and in a T5 raid, if those shadows are just level 30s, the boss can easily wipe out 3 -5 parties of that. Unless you are a hardcore player that keeps hundreds of revives and potions, its better to stick with the regular ones that can fight and survive longer. Most of the casuals don't even almost expand their item storage, I would be surprised if they have 20+ revives on hand.
Im a very casual player and only just sat down to make sense of all this. This video was explained really well and was pretty concise without overwhelming. Cheers! Ive got a good 2k pokemon to get through ha
Amazing video as always - your slide on dust/candy cost from 8 to 30 v 20 to 30 seriously highlights how underrated 1* shadow raids are, particularly weather boosted. It’s like having a 60k dust/90 candy raid drop for things like Machop/murkrow to get them in a shadow raid v. Grunt/leader.
So shadow raids being at churches alot pokemon with cp of 666 being 3 star a lot and shadows being stronger. It's like according to Niantic evil wins which goes against everything iv ever watched that's pokemon, I'm so confused 😕, just started a month ago on pg and it's soo wtf
I had a terrible mewtwo reide weekend, cause i played only one day, but end up getting a 96% groundon with 15 atck, i'm so happy!!! Already used a elite charge TM
There are two things to note about mewtwo, first when it's megas are added the purified hundreds are going to be decent for a significant number of players, second is that it's shiny should be slightly more common overall. I did 5 raids and got an ok shiny Mewtwo.
Another great upload. The fact that you have so little views compared to the depth and quality of the video really puzzles me. I dont think there has been a more elaborate explanation of powering up shadow/lucky/normal pokemons and i feel that itself could already be a standalone video just due to its informativeness. Very unfortunate the game has been in relative decline, it kinda screwed with the views on pogo in general. Feels bad man. You’ve been consistently pulling out bangers but the views haven’t been fair to you at all.
I loved this video and I definitely will be looking back at it as I get better shadow Pokemon. I was wondering if you could make a video ranking the best Pokemon to spend rare candy/rare candy XL on based on rarity, difficulty to get more candy, etc.?
I got 4 Mewtwo with 91+ IVs , 14/13/15, 15/14/12, 15/13/13 and 15/11/15. I am not going to power up 15/13/13 yet, but if I will not get a hundo Mewtwo then I will purify it. Is it ok?
I’ve got some really good shadow mons now probably my bests being 98% weaville 96% machamp, 86% raikou and a few other meta ones that are high 3 stars…. But man… this team rocket event taking forever to come so I’ve been sitting on these frustration beasts for weeks and months 😂
what do yall do with the weak shadows? I was thinking of waiting for 2x transfer or maybe purify to trade with my girlfriend for the one we were able to get weather boosted or something, but idk.
For the ones that cost 1K to purify, I always purify those before transferring. Otherwise if they don't have really high IVs or PvP IVs, I just transfer them. You could purify and trade them too, but it might end up costing you too much stardust 😅
Amazing video, I love shadow pokemon but they are so darn expensive. I have a level 50 Reshiram, I feel like you should compare them to level 50 non shadows since they are the endgame Pokemon to power up for PVE.
If you are running raids with just two trainers it is best to have pokemon at least level 40 if not higher. I know Pokebattler suggests it and we have been doing pretty solid beating many 5 star shadow raids just wife and I. There are times with right weather conditions we were able to beat raids without using purified gems.
I caught 7 Mewtwo today, and honestly I just wanted one with max attack and I got one with 15 attack, 13 HP and terrible defense. I still want to max this one out despite it being a 2 star because god only knows when Mewtwo will be back
I would definitely take it to Level 30 and eventually cap around Level 40. Shadow Mewtwo is amazing to use in rocket battles against the poison type grunts.
Im so lucky to get a 96% shadow gible and 2 93% shadow salamence from research tasks. Now I just need to grind the candies and stardust to level them up 😂
im a returning player (not the strongest), and i have not failed a shadow legendary raid yet, me and my brother have been able to duo all of them soo far, i dont think they are too hard and i like that they cannot be remote'd. otherwise it would be way too easy considering the other way to obtain them is waiting months and completing a quest line.
I remembered that you've shared before that the Pokémon will reach it's max cap attack stats at certain level but I couldn't find that infos anywhere online. Do you mind sharing on what level will the Pokémon reach it's max attack stats cap as I don't wanna max out level 50 on every useful Pokémon I have for now as a returning player and still collecting Pokémon to build PVE team for each typings. Don't wanna unnecessarily waste my XL candles. Thanks!
I got a 14/10/15 Shadow Groudon and powerd Up to Level 48. And i got a 13/13/10 Shadow Shiny Raikou. Its now Level 43. I needs so much more Stardust for Level 50 😅 and i got a 15/10/12 Shadow Shiny Mewtwo this Weekend. Man i am so lucky with this good strong Shadows 😄
Some highlights of my Shadow catching recently. Caught a hundo Shadow Gible last week which pumped me the hell up! Should I evolve it all the way and elite TM it so it can have Earth Power? I'm not sure when I will have the chance to evolve it during a special event again. Last event was GoFest. 2nd, I just caught a 96% Shadow Lugia this past Saturday! And it was weather boosted! Omg! I have to power it up. But how does it stack up with all the other psychic types in the Shadow forms?
Congrats on the hundo shadow Gible! I think it's totally worth the elite TM. In terms of Shadow Lugia, it's not recommended to use for raid battles, but the regular hundo is fantastic for Master League.
Hello! I'm getting back into the game and my friends told me to not purify my Shadow Lugia. I saw that you didn't mention It but can I ask if It's good anyways?
Shadow Lugia isn't that relevant unless you have close to perfect IVs to use in the Master League. It's not a Pokemon you want to use for the raid/gym meta though
So is there merit in just running 6 shadow Mewtwo & charge TMing to either flamethrower, tbolt, focus blast, etc. for each type? S.Mewtwo is among best in class for each typing it has a charged move for based on TDO. I have always wondered how STAB fast moves would impact that, though
In the past, shadow Mewtwo was great to use as a generalist type attacker, but nowadays we have so many good Pokemon for each typing, so it's just better to stick with one of the options that benefits from STAB on both moves.
I got a shadow darumaka in the night it come out and it was a 98% i put him lv 30 and evolved and because of him i decided to ask someone for a heatran for my special trade, it came 98 -1 hp but the other guy, the other guy got.. he got a 100 iv kyogre
I would power it up, aim for Level 30 first and then eventually Level 40. For the Elite TM, it's difficult to say compared to the regular. I use my regular Groudon a lot for rocket battles, raids and PvP. I haven't had the opportunity to really compare the shadow in rockets yet.
Hate that you cant Remote shadow raids. My kid was hyped when mewtwo spawned at the playground near us. Told him we couldnt handle it alone.. he wanted to try anyways but two man raiding 5 stars are pretty difficult -.- we lost ofc.
I got 2 decent mewtwo, one can be hundo if i purify 13/14/13 and the other is 96 if i purify 11/14/15 should i purify one of them? I don't have candy for upgrading or getting 2 attacks, if i keep them shadow it will stay low levey for ever, i would probably never touch it
Just keep them as shadows for now, you can always change your mind and purify later when you have more resources available. The only one I would focus on right now is your 96 shadow. I would work on taking that to Level 40 and doing GBL to get an elite TM for Psystrike.
The rule of thumb is: don't purify shadows. This is because of math. Example: Regular Mewtwo vs Shadow Mewtwo. Mewtwo's base attack stat is 300. For sake of example, assume an attack IV of 15. Regular Mewtwo: 300 (base attack stat) + 0 (20% shadow bonus; its regular Mewtwo, so no bonus) + 15 (15 attack IV) = 315 total attack Shadow Mewtwo: 300 (base attack stat) + 60 (20% of base attack stat for shadow bonus) + 15 (15 attack IV) = 375 total attack As a serious player hunting the best possible pokemon there are very few exceptions to the rule of thumb, and will almost always be for PVP because return is a hard hitting charge move if it lands. Sableye is a primary example. Personally, I have a purified Girafarig with return that has a highly ranked IV spread for Great League because who the hell does that 🤣 You *can* purify high IV shadows if they have a mega (Tyranitar being your example), but you will probably have a harder time getting *another* high IV shadow Tyranitar than you will getting a regular Larvitar from research (or another method) with similarly high IV's. (NOTE: if you're going to do this, it should be on a pokemon that will become a hundo, otherwise you're just wasting a high IV shadow). If you just want to collect hundo's then by all means, purify them and play the game the way that makes you happy. It is a game after all. Hope this helps put it into perspective, even though I'm 3 months late commenting.
Shadow shiny Pokemon are not impressive at all if they come from raids. All it really means is “This player lives in an urban area”. I think shiny non shadows are far more impressive.
@@BenjaminEngel507 I'm not into shadow Pokémons to be honest... So I'm purifying it... If that's 98% I'm pretty sure I'm not gonna purify it but yeah I want a sure hundo

Mewtwo shadow - 15/7/8 is good to ubgrade ??
Yup
How do i know if i should or shouldn't purify a pokemon because i have a 3 star t tar but not one 15 iv
The rule of thumb is: don't purify shadows. This is because of math.
Example: Regular Mewtwo vs Shadow Mewtwo. Mewtwo's base attack stat is 300. For sake of example, assume an attack IV of 15.
Regular Mewtwo: 300 (base attack stat) + 0 (20% shadow bonus; its regular Mewtwo, so no bonus) + 15 (15 attack IV) = 315 total attack
Shadow Mewtwo: 300 (base attack stat) + 60 (20% of base attack stat for shadow bonus) + 15 (15 attack IV) = 375 total attack
As a serious player hunting the best possible pokemon there are very few exceptions to the rule of thumb, and will almost always be for PVP because return is a hard hitting charge move if it lands. Sableye is a primary example. Personally, I have a purified Girafarig with return that has a highly ranked IV spread for Great League because who the hell does that 🤣

Both? Haha, I would probably do the 98 first for results and then do the shiny afterwards once you get more resources
So much to aspire to :D
I just maxed out my mewtwo shadow 94% spent 700k dust I need like 30xl to finish it
Was just looking for this on your channel the other day. Was watching the 2023 one. Super stoked to see it here 🔥
😄
When is the next Giovani cycle?
Does levels mean 35 as in 3500?

But how to know the level???
I love ur vids
Thank you!
i purified my shadow groudon becuase I wanted to primal reverse it...
I COULD HAVE JUST RAIDED FOR IT
Also grabbed Hundo shadow mewtwo
Damn dude, you had some good luck recently!
@@LuckyBunz thanks I had spells of crap like tho lol
I have a shadow hundo gyarados 😍
Have a friend he got both apex lugia and ho-oh as hundos 🤣
Hope everyone had a wonderful Easter Day ❤ He Is Risen 🙏 God bless and much love
shadow moltres, blaziken, darmanitan and chandlure all do more dps than reshiram
Shadow shiny Pokemon are not impressive at all if they come from raids.
All it really means is “This player lives in an urban area”.
I think shiny non shadows are far more impressive.
Let’s gooo
My shadow groudon is 15-15-10 so I maxed it out
I already purified my 96% Shadow Mewtwo to purified hundo... I need hundo shadow Mewtwo but they give me a crap one
96 %Shadow Mewtwo crap?🤦 Dumbest Thing what you did purify your good Shadow. You can trade normal Mewtwo for a hundo
@@BenjaminEngel507 I'm not into shadow Pokémons to be honest... So I'm purifying it... If that's 98% I'm pretty sure I'm not gonna purify it but yeah I want a sure hundo
You purified 96? Bruh
@@mareczuczek I want a hundo not 96% shadow
😬
If it’s not hundo. I don’t want it.
Hi
Hi 🙂
First
damn it idk why I purified that shiny machop 🥲 oh well I really wanted to raise its stats but it was a low stat but I still love it but I did get a 14/13/15 shadow machop that i’m powering up little by little I just need more info on that do I level him up all the way and then evolve him for better cp stats or evolve and then raise his cp stats i’m planning to keep him shadow until I cave and purify him for the highest cp stats after leveling him up as much as possible
