    This is so helpful and informative!!! I’m gonna mix up some of that crease color and see how it looks . And I’m also gonna try the blue grey color…the blue alway scares me lol so this might be a better choice for sure . I love that you said you were gonna decide if wanted to do those little creases around the eyes….that’s the beauty of it , we can decide and that’s what makes our own work unique. Thank you ❤️❤️❤️❤️

    I always do my shading and creasing first because the layers tend to tone down after some applications and you could touch them up later if need be

    Super informative! I have an itch to start reborning myself, so these tutorials are very helpful. I also recommend the Reborn A to Z course.

      I purchased that course to help me with my AA and other ethnic skintones. I really like Shaylen's tutorials. Highly recommended, even for someone with experience like me.

    first time on watching your videos and really enjoying, I've always looked for native American, baby and have been unsuccessful, so decided to make my own, I heard you say bake after each paint, wondering what or how you bake, sorry if that's a stupid question

    • @nearandfarreborndolls7493
      @nearandfarreborndolls7493  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Artists bake each layer in a NuWave Oven (for precise temperature control). I usually bake for 10-12 minutes at 275.

    I have a big problem with the color for the lips . Do you use a color with the thinning medium or a color with the paint thinner ?

    can someone help me, what colors should I buy for reborn dolls? Acrylic paint? and what should I use to make the paint stay on the doll?

    • @nearandfarreborndolls7493
      @nearandfarreborndolls7493  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Most artists use heat set paints where you bake the paint on. That is what I am using in this video. There are also specially formulated air dry paints that are made to use on reborn dolls. Acrylic paint, like you find at craft stores, will not work. If you watch the video from beginning to end, you will see all the colors I use. Basically I use a dark purple for creases, flesh color, pale blue and purple for mottling, and several different shades of red and pink for lips, nails, and blushing.

    I have never seen a grey color paint in genesis paint .

    • @nearandfarreborndolls7493
      @nearandfarreborndolls7493  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There are all levels of grey paint, from 02 to 08. It might not be available right now because the Genesis paint factory is closed because of supply chain issues. They are supposed to reopen this summer. Fingers crossed.

    Hello dear lady, hope you are well! I’m watching your video and mixed dioxazine purple 01 and burnt umber to do the creases, and it didn’t turn reddish like your mix did! What should I do? It’s very purple

Could you please tell me the name of that product you’re talking about? I made myself a really nice mixture but would also buy the one that you’re saying you’re using now! I wish you a wonderful day, and God bless! 🌹❤️😊

    Do you know what to do when your doll has too much red on it? I seem to always mix the red too strong. I can’t tone it down by adding flesh colors. Would the yellow work?

    • @nearandfarreborndolls7493
      @nearandfarreborndolls7493  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      To neutralize any color do a wash if the opposite color on the color wheel. For red this is green. When mixing colors it's better to be too light and have to add more than go too dark.

    I really liked watching this. From what you're doing I know what to do and what not to do for painting my own babies. That's no offense to you, it's about what works for the skin colour and coulours I'm painting. So, thank you.

      There is no right way to paint a reborn doll. Do what looks good to you. It's an art, not a science.

    How do you put the eyes in?

    • @nearandfarreborndolls7493
      @nearandfarreborndolls7493  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can heat the head and insert them through the front or cut the back of the socket out and insert them from the inside of the head. If you choose the second option, you should use glue to secure them.

      Take a cosmetic sponge and use tweezers to make irregular holes. You can use the sponge multiple times,

    ACRYLICS are different you have to work fast

    • @nearandfarreborndolls7493
      @nearandfarreborndolls7493  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      True. I started with air dry acrylics and then moved to Genesis heat sets paints. I have to say, I like them much better. It is more expensive to paint that way (because you have to buy a separate oven), but worth it if you're going to be a serious artist.
