    Looks so simple and cheap love it! This is where Ikea meets Lego. I wanna do this somewhere and screw it together by myself. This has got to be the cheapest way to build a house I mean the metal sheets are basically just printed by a computer this is as close to printing your own house in a day as you can get.

    The part of Australia I live on, the termites would eat a wood house-up and due to cyclone coding the only options are stud wall framing system or block or brick, a lot of people that live rural buy big sheds and just deck the inside with stud wall framing and live in it

      Honestly we should have been doing this regardless I don't understand why we never progressed in using different materials for a multitude of reasons but when you actually dig around you find the answer very quickly that it might seem like a conspiracy but construction and insurances are very against non-traditional wood the housing market in itself is very against non-traditional forms this being the structure and shape of the house along with the materials used they make you think that if you build this house it's going to be like a car off the lot and no offense to homeowners but they are very greedy on a fundamental level mostly because they've been sold a lie thinking that housing experience is when you sell it for more profit to gain equity when things were booming that Within 30 to 50 years would be worth five times as much as when they purchased and that more people will be able to afford that housing market with the newer generation well the first part of that was true with inflation cost but isn't really something that was organic and really why would I spend more money on something that's probably rotting away inside the walls but there's things I can't see and if we're just going to talk about Aesthetics I don't want to pay more for a house simply because it's actually all I can afford that doesn't fit my lifestyle and honestly all of this should be devalued for not understanding how people change and making homes that aren't going to fit someone else because they made it permanent the land is really all that's valued

    Can cinderblock & steel homes be combined? Between cinderblock & steel which of the two is better? The advantage I notice is that steel can be many stories they use them in skyscrapers after all,but cinderblock can only be one story & any additional stories has to be wood frame.Price wise is steel the most expensive of the two? between steel & cinderblock that is.

      Yes but since the vertical steel beams must all be vertical of one another you might want to rethink ur cinderblock idea-make the cinderblock not be responsible for carrying load.
      Cold formed steel can be used up to six stories.

    How much does this cost

    • @cexy63s
      @cexy63s 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Definitely cheaper than wood, on so many levels, time, materials, quality, insurance savings, & future equity gain. Metal buildings offer stronger structures that are less prone to deteriorating like wood. You may spend more in materials but it will cost less in labor and you will have backend savings. I will build my house with a metal structure instead of wood.

    • @silverwindspirit
      @silverwindspirit 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@cexy63s so if anything, is it possible these structures are easier to fix? I mean, with wood, you have change the entire beam if there's damage in certain areas where as metal, you can just forge a piece into it. I'm not sure if that's a possibility

    • @tuslaqueen
      @tuslaqueen ปีที่แล้ว

      It depends on a variety of factors: how the stud was effected, where the problem is in the structure, if it was more than one stud then what is the state of the surrounding studs, etc. But yes depending on the severity of the problem welding is generally a cheaper alternative versus replacing with wood. Just avoid ppl who tell you to spend the extras money to weld in a heavier gauge than the gauge of the effected stud. Heavier gauge not necessary 99.99% of the time

    Now can we start talking about different materials for walls ceilings and Floors that isn't wood and paper not to say that any one material is perfect but for me wood has not stand the test of time and if anything it is hurting the environment more and more the Timber Company are like Farmers they understand they reap what they sow but oftentimes they will forgo certain protocols such as wood being too young or too old just so that they can fill out a quota and I wouldn't want to use metal four walls ceilings and Floors that should be strictly structural framing unless you like the Aesthetics but combining other materials such as plastic can make for a very durable and well-insulated house that includes the insulation that's a polyurethane foam I don't like the spray stuff I believe it doesn't do an adequate job I rather use blocks that are a lot more compact and easier to put together if you're making a home yourself so you don't have to get the equipment all you need is a cutting tool to make sure it fits in the spot correctly

      You have three chooces:
      1. A completely flat slab.
      2. A short wall. You will need floor joists. Much more expensive that a flat slab but u can crawl around under the house.
      3. Blocks or posts or vertical girders. This lets u park the car under the house.
