Now that's how you open an absolute masterpiece of an album. Followed by Death Portrait, a blackened perfection.
I know everyone's gonna throw in Death Portrait next since it's the successor track for this song in the album, but I'm just gonna put in King Ov Deception :)
I agree. Death Portrait is great but King Ov Deception is monstrous!
Those are the two I'd recommend too though good idea to put on King ov Deception ^^
Can't disagree with King Ov Deception :)
King ov deception is my fav off this album
@@jennifermartin40 I couldn't decide between Death Portrait or King ov deception they are both awesome in their own way ^^
Lorna Shore with CJ was epic. Immortal and Death Portrait are killer!!!!!
Hollow Sentence was awesome too
This is hell is the best on this album
This album and especically this song brought me to like Deathcore. Perfectly with the melody and the hard parts.
Same here :)
Dude same. I wasn’t into it until I heard this album, and now I’m like knee deep in.
Took the words right out of my mouth.
And same here :)
Same here! I think i probably like it because it's very blackened death sounding..
You're the only reaction channel where I don't skip the comments cause you always give pretty good information and you're so Charismatic, your reactions is how reaction videos need to be
Thanks a ton!
that ending with the symphony literally made me tear up. i’ve never been one to call deathcore beautiful, but that was fucking beautiful.
Indeed, the outro is absolutely awesome.
Damn, third time hearing this song. And though I definitely don't consider myself being into deathcore, this song is too good to ignore based on genre. Good one, once again.
Thanks buddy! It’s not often you get a deathcore song’s chorus stuck in your head. Haha
So glad you did this, Austin is an amazing drummer. You should DEFINITELY do Death Portrait as well, it will show a lot more of what the vocalist is capable of. It’s a shame he isn’t with them anymore, It’s absolutely mental
This entire album is a MASTERPIECE!
I have to say honestly, that I think death core drummers are some of the best drummers out there! Crazy fast and talented! I’m not a huge fan of death core but there was something kinda beautiful about that! Keep rockin’ it out! ❤️🤘🏻
I love the fact that both Tank and Chase had exactly the same reaction I did when the vocals first kicked in. That "Holy crap did I just get punched in the face by sound" reaction.
Bro, the number of times I have come back to this reaction of you discovering this band on THIS song, uncountable. This song is soooo fn good. Super proud of these boys and how far they have come. Got to see them live in AZ in November, was me and my girls first extreme metal show, couldn't possibly be happier! Keep up the good work Tank!!
Bro, you and Chase are my favorite reactors in TH-cam, no cuestion ask. I'm from Ecuador, and actually I don't write comments to nobody, but you my friend, I've learned a lot about the world of touring and I liked it because I'm a musician as well, so I get it every time you feel happy for a song or a band like Nightwish. Hope you the best bro, keep it up and long live metal! Hahaha
Thanks a ton! 💪
Such an enjoyable reaction to watch, Tank. I absolutely love everything about this song. It's so sick. Thanks for sharing all your knowledge as always .
This is phenomenal. Lots of influences that aren't apparent at first listen. Lots of neoclassical influence in the lead guitar parts, that last section is pure symphonic black metal and somehow they mixed it all together into a deathcore track. Wicked cool
Yeah, it's one of the reasons i like them - they have a bit of a blackened death metal sound
Back to Back Days of Lorna Shore with Chase and Tank! Let's Go!
It’s really cool watching this reaction because it shows how far you’ve come in reactions, and how far Lorna Shore has come since this album, and I am super stoked to see what “Pain Remains” entails, and to see you get even more epic and hardcore moving forward!
❤️🤘🏻
This reaction is great, you do something that is much more unique for reaction vids...
The fact you can call out instrument brands and models, and also throw out facts in post makes this channel have the best reaction I've seen.
Great reaction, Tank. LS and SOI are the only deathcore bands I listen to. I heard they're working on the instrumental version of Immortal album. Looking forward to it.
Great to see you react to some deathcore - there is a lot if generic stuff out there but there is still a load of great deathcore like some of the bands you mentioned in the Shadow of Intent video.
There something beautiful about this song as well as insanely brutal and the vocal lows in the breakdown are insane
First Chase and now you! Oh I cannot wait! I love watching people reacting to this song :D
I love the drummer for Lorna shore, I can watch his drum play throughs on repeat.
shadow of intent - barren and breathless macrocosm FT trevor strnad of TBDM.
lorna shore - death portrait
love your reactions man whoever came up with deathcore+melody/symphonic stuff changed the game
I love the pop up facts! Those are enjoyable to read on top of that genuine reaction to the song
I consider Lorna Shore and Shadow of Intent to be the undisputed kings of deathcore right now. They’re creating some of the most memorable songs to ever come out of the genre while pushing it’s boundaries and incorporating so many elements from different genres. I actually prefer their 2017 album Flesh Coffin with Tom Barber because I like Tom Barber’s vocals a lot more and they had a more raw emotional approach back then, although not as well written as Immortal. If you wanna check that out, I’d recommend FVNERAL MOON. That song remains my favorite by them
I’ve only heard this song by LS, but can fully agree on Shadow of Intent. Thanks for the recommendation, man!
Can’t begin to tell you how many times I had this blasting on my deployment last year! Still heavy in my rotation. Got me through a lot of dark times. Ended up in the top .5% of their listeners 😂🤘🏼
Schadow of intent- malediction
A masterpiece, like every other song of soi
Ola was with Washburn and he had a model which was the Solar, and then ventured on to make his own company and brand known as Solar guitars.
Lol DEMOLISHER - Slaughter to Prevail after that filthy gutteral. Idk why, I always love the background music choices
I just love music that is like a constant bombardment of the senses with no break to catch a breath. This right here is a prime example for a track that is "in your face" the whole time.
*engages one repeat*
Tank! Regarding how you described what deathcore you like, you might like to look up my favourite sub-sub genre. Blackened deathcore 😀 Both Lorna Shore and Shadow of Intent are considered as part of blackened deathcore. 😁
Fuck yeah!
Lorna shore - Death portrait (a must)
Lorna shore - Darkest spawn
Lorna shore - king ov deception
Lorna shore - This is hell
Great reaction, Tank. The whole Immortal album is a work of art :)
This song is sick. I heard it thirt time and I love whole guitar part. Drumms cover "background" music and vocal. I never listen to much core metal but I start dig in it. Vocal perfect fit to "background" music. Great reaction.
If you're going to go down the Deathcore rabbit hole, To The Grave is one to check out. Still pretty small in the scene relative to some of these other guys but definitely a change of pace from the typical. Their song "Ecocide" is one of the best vocally and musically I've heard in terms of it's brutality.
We never got a TTG reaction. They're imo the best band in the scene if you don't really dig the blackened style of Deathcore.
Lovin the video man, got VH1 Pop Up Video nostalgia lmao
That’s what I’m going for. Haha
that final breakdown give me goosebumps
Only recently got put onto these guys! they came out of nowhere for me, but they're so good!
I've heard this song heaps of times but got goose bumps again, great reaction mate 🤘🏼👿🇦🇺
06:03 🤣🤘
Great React video. I think it's cool that you included some info :)In my opinion, CJ is just awesome as a vocalist. The drummer is just awesome. The whole band is damn good. No further words are needed ;)
For one beautiful moment (towards the end)
Tank and CJ were headbanging together
Almost joined in myself 🤘😂
Great video !!
Hell yeah! Glad you enjoyed the song! I think the only "live" music video they have is Death Portrait
Love this album, glad you checked this one out. Death Portrait is another absolute filthy one, just dumb heavy lol, cool video too
Death Portrait, King Ov Deception and/or Darkest Spawn next! You will love them all I'm sure!
When Ola first started his guitars it was the "Washburn solar" before Solar was a stand alone company. A semi recent video he explain about his washburn solar v and how chewy, dimebags custom shop painter, did the dimebolt esqe paint work
Ola had a signature solar model made through Washburn, before he branched out and created Solar guitars.
They’re pretty hard to come across, unless you scour EBay or Reverb... but yes, that’s a Washburn Solar model!
Damn we found out about Lorna about the same time. I found them like a week before CJ hit the streets. Love the Tank facts! I thought this whole time CJ went to Chelsea Grin, didn't know there was a third vocalist🤘
You should listen to This is Hell
I’m not a fan of death core.......but “To Be Fair”....this piece of instrumental work was a good ole fashion kick in the arse!
this is the song that is slowly getting me into deathcore, i've listened to like heavy/power/symphonic metal etc. for years, but this is just pushing me over the edge into the dark void we call deathcore.
@@Vestaxowner1 check out shadow of intent if you havent already
@@AGhostInTheFog oh i know them and i love em!
I am of the same mindset. Instrumentaly awesome but the vocals aren't for me.
@@Vestaxowner1 Check out BT's project Nadir if you can !
Before Solar Guitars, Ola had a "Washburn signature" called.... Solar. When he split, he took his design (made by his wife i think) and used it for his own brand :)
You popped into my head when I saw Chase do this yesterday. I could instantly see your hat come off.
Damn. Just added to my Spotify Playlist. Thx Tank🤘🤘
A year late to this video, but from this perspective now, I have to say I agree with you that the instrumentation is my favourite thing about this song and I'd love it just as much without the vocals. Not that CJ isn't great in this album, he is, but he isn't the standout part of the songs for me. That's where my feelings differ now that Will has come into the mix, because I appreciate his vocals on their own as much as I do the band's instruments on their own, so he's taken it all up a notch for me. Amazing band in all eras of their music, but different things shine at different times.
If I'm not mistaken. Ola used to be sponsored by Washburn so it must be an older model before Ola made Solar.
You are correct. I also mention that in the pop ups in the video.
@@TankTheTech wrote that as soon as you mentioned it on the video. Rad.
Hahahaha. No worries.
The Black Metal parts in this absolutely kills !!
The last 2 minutes
🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻 Yes dude! 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻 - Your headbanging is something I wish every reactor did! LOVE the energy! One of the best reviewers/reacters/TH-camrs out there! 🔥
Great react and a great band! I wonder if it's a band rule for the lead singer to have the whole one-side-shaved-the-other-side-long-and-wavy haircut or something, haha!
i know what every deathcore track needs to be such powerful like this, perfect gutturals and a sick lead riff.
i love this :o thx tank for this reaction. maybe check out "Abiogenesis - Visualize" its also a massive track.
This is a lot in Carnifex style with symphonic touch. Old school revisited death/deathcore, I'm for it 100%.
The drum playthrough for Darkest Spawn is absolute mayhem!
Yesssss you finally did Lorna Shore!!💕💕😍 CJ set the bar so high as a vocalist.. I adore his vulgar display of filth🤣
I heard this band once, but somehow forgot about it. Now its brought back to my attention.
I recommend something special next: The band "Make Them Die Slowly", Album Ferox came out this year
If you want more I would recommend darkest spawn. Also, more Orbit Culture please.
The band's name reminded me of an amazing unknown finnish metal band called Vorna. You should definitely check them out some time. Their album "Sateet palata saavat" is so. freaking. good. I know you'd like it. Their lyrics are in finnish but they have translations for every song on their official site. I recommend the track called "Tyhjyys on tyyni", 8th on the album.
Great content man, keep it up!
Never clicked so fast!!! 🤘🏽🤘🏽 definitely Death Portrait or King Ov Deception next
Nice using Gravesinger as your background track lol
Next track should be Disembodied Phenomena from Hollow Prophet. They're a "supergroup" consisting of Ben, the vocalist from Shadow of Intent. Jack, their guitarist, from Acrania/Slaughter to Prevail. And now Austin Archey from Lorna Shore on drums. Unfortunately it's just a lyric video but if you want to peak at their equipment check out Infernal Cleansing. Older track with Luka from Within Destruction as the drummer. Either way, all their tracks are sick! Oh and I can never get over how monstrous that breakdown is in Immortal!
If he wants to see Arjen play and hear him sing: Ayreon - Amazing flight in Space from the same concert you saw Everybody dies
Hija, I can' t Help myself.
I am actually no friend of "toomuchgrowlmusic", I must confess.
Musically and instrumentally the Band sounds wow.
But that's not what I wanted to say.
I don' t know much about Instruments and Gears. And so I how deeply before your wide and deep knowledge about all the many different Guitar-, Bass - and drum Marks and Brands. And recognizing specific guitar Models within Split Seconds is for me an Art of it's own. Respekt.
And again, your Research about technics and History of Band and Gear, and also the selfironic Comments inbetween makes your reaction Videos unic. True, informative and entertaining, without any artificial, overdrawn reactions- that other reactors do for a better content. You don't need that. It's just Like Marko Hietala playing the Islander in Tampere. Simple true and awesome.
That's why I watch your Videos even about Bands whose music I don't really Like. Great Job! Go on!👍
I am with you. I typically am not a fan of this kind of stuff, but this song was special.
Love this so much!🤘😈🔥
Oh great... I heard this song last night for the first time and it kept me awake for another hour... this song hits hard!
Everybody needs tank facts in there life 👊🏻
Funny, the song is called Immortal, off an album called Immortal, and their biggest influence musically is Immortal, especially with the solos.
Their song "Death Portrait" next please! The music video. The breakdowns are MUCH heavier and much more filthy.
King Ov Deception as well!
only channel i dont mind about pausing a lot, as i learn a lot and hes not just doing it to do it
Thanks man!
Fuckin love this dude
Relentless Torment is so fucking good!!!!
Thank you Lorna Shore for keeping Chiropractors in business during Covid. Hats off to you!
You should check out the vocalists original band, Cesspool of Ignorance by Signs of the Swarm
I expect you to review Lorna Shore's following songs: King Ov Deception, Death Portrait, Flesh Coffin and Darkest Spawn. Thank you for your service! :)
Subed based purely off the VG gear and then throwing the Letterkenney in their. Deeeeecent. Now since you loved this, check out defamed-doves
Niceeeeee. Thanks dude!
Bruh yes! Defamed has put out bangers! Doves is dope
No idea who this band is, but checking out purely cos it got unblocked. More views!
Also, recommendation: Chthonic, folk death metal band from Taiwan. Most of their songs have English and non-English versions (well, not like you can really hear the lyrics with the growling). Haven't heard much about copyright on them so I assume it should be fine. One of my fav songs is Takao ("Ta-ka-o"). The original MV is from 2011, there's a pretty good 2014 live version featuring an oriental orchestra.
Hey Tank - looked like a great way to re-energise after Poet. Just a thought - if you love the soaring guitar parts - Vital Remains and their song DeChristianize. Old school death metal that is just out of this world. There’s a good quality live show of this song...
You got my like when you put the Letterkenny reference in there!
🤘
And I have found a new band that I have to check out more from.... that song was awesome
Extermination Dismemberment is my favorite death core band.
Infant Annihilator and Vulvodynia are sick too
I like this a lot, seems to remind me of Fleshgod Apocalypse. I love me some heavy death metal with orchestra
I love this band I am very proud that you like this cuz I didn’t think you would 🤪
for old cj check out signs of the swarm - senseless order
In total I only understood 3 words - immortal, eternal, and peace.
My album of the year, without a doubt.
I think you would love a band called Be’lakor. Abeyance is a good song to start with. They are prog/melodeath masters from Australia!
Dude, there are a few songs/albums that I can point out the exact place I heard for the first time (Okinawa for this one)… this played after Shadow of Intent on my Spotify… Now - when are we getting a re-release of Immortal with Will!?!? 🤔
I doubt we will see that, to be honest, because they're probably more focuses on just writing all new material with him rather than revisiting past works. But who knows!
I thought he did some vocal playthroughs of Immortal on his Patreon - we can only hope! Looking forward to the new album for sure!!!
Now Deathportrait , King Ov Deception , & This Is Hell next
Dude you need to check out Leväluhta by Korpiklaani. They just released the music video and even though I've never been their fan, I think I am now.
In general, elitists everywhere like to shit on deathcore bands for reasons I'd love psychologists to decipher. People can say the genre is not for them but discrediting their skills and hard work just show how tiny the brain capacity of these elitists are.
As for LS, everyone has a CJ story. They booted him out regardless he's innocent or not, the story ends there and you open a new chapter. I'm more invested on the skills and musicianship of the band rather than the controversy surrounding one person who's NOT even in the band anymore and I think Austin and Adam deserve more credits since they wrote most of LS albums.
even tho im not into this Band, it reminds me of a band called Gormathon. specialy the song absence of trust. Land of the lost is epic as well!
Go for Fleshgod Apocalypse next. Monnalisa is one of the best songs ever made!
hey dude, please reaction Deadsquad - Manufaktur Replika Baptis. They're so famous in Indonesian metal scene
