See comments bashing the tricks as "let's see that as a game"... Tricks are fun to watch on TH-cam and its advertising. Had this guy coach me with Ppaha in Colorado Springs as a peewee and bantam and he's legit. The practices where in no way trick shot camps, it was all about skating and applicable moves. Skinner knows what he's talking about.
Same here. I was in it in June of last year. It was extremely exciting to be a part of his stick handling camp, and I still remember what he taught us and how freaking difficult it was for most of us.
It helps with coordination. Any you do with the stick and the puck will help your overall handling skills no matter how unaplicable it might seem. Also, doing new, unconventional stuff like this will help shock your brain into forming new synapsis when it comes to handling skills. The more and better established synapsis you have, the better your overall skill and learning process will be.
not sure if you notice but the other guys using a stick a foot shorter than ovechkins which is suited to let you handle the puck better than a longer stick which helps you create more torque for harder shooting.
Wow, skinner is sick with that stick. Holy Shit. He makes one of the best players in the world look like he needed lessons. Amazing. Would love to be in one of his sessions. Wow.
@yvgenimalkin71 the best become the best and are the best because they know they constantly have to keep learning and improving their skills to stay the best. ovi knows this, thats why he is one of the best.
@Disgle Naah this is to give you better stick handling.. and stickhandling you can´t have enough of.. This is just ways to challange what ever skill you already have.. Since you see Ovechkin have problems with some of them, i think must players can have some benefit from practicing these drills.. he made a whole dvd with on and off ice drills to get better at handling the stick..! Its pretty good IMO..!
@andoose just because hes a 50+ goal scorer doesnt mean hes a puck hogger, ovechkin loves it when other team players score goals and he actually gets assists like 40 or 50 a season,
I think he used to be sponsored by CCM or at least I think he had a ccm commercial that played in the megatron during my local icehockey games few seasons back...
The man has excellent hand skills. Like I always say there are countless gifted people walking the planet this man is pure evidence of that very fact. Obviously has better hand skills than ovie
well this i dont think was for a game but didnt u see ovie in the all star shootout and he used this and won the damn thing so dont think it doesnt take practice.
@kidpunk333 Ohhh. Tough guy. I'm 17, 6'1, 205 lbs. I use a 98 flex S19 to start off the season. And after half a season (xmas) i move down to 82. It's all mechanics bro.
Ovi isn't as technically sound as a lot of other players like Crosby or Datsyuk, but he's got a raw talent for getting the puck in the net someway somehow.
This guy is teaching Ovechkin and correcting him. This guy is sick!
Sean Skinner - thanks you for your video lessons - it's awesome!!! Thank you for your job - from all RUSSIANS begginers. Help you god!
Mr Skinner fantastic skating and stick handling love it !!!

OMG I am proud to say that he has coached me. I am canadiana but live in Indonesia
hi Sean
- James Duggan :)
I love how ovechkin is still learning stuff too!
Thank you so much coach

it all promotes familiarization with the puck and stick, have you ever been to a hockey practice
Yes that's why I made an 8.5 hour DVD series on Stickhandling because all I teach is picking up the puck!!!
Da Choppah we had met Skinner few years ago in Moscow too - that was very good training.....
You coached me when you came to Sheffield
Sean Skinner
A u worked before that time
with P.Datsyk?
Thanks
i can't wait for hockey season

Ha ha you're so right! I was thinking the same thing watching this.
sean skinner is a fkn beast
Never stop learning :)
В этом году, пятилетний внук поступил в Академию хоккейного клуба Динамо-Москва.
Надеюсь, что видеоурок Шона, ему очень помогут
@FrogsAreMyThing no Sean Skinner isnt related to Jeff Skinner at all.
@yvgenimalkin71
the best become the best and are the best because they know they constantly have to keep learning and improving their skills to stay the best. ovi knows this, thats why he is one of the best.
true that
Its this brilliant new technique called hand eye coordination
skinners skates are badass
Даже если ты будешь лучше чем скинер ты не будешь лучше чем Овечкин.ХОККЕЙ В ГОЛОВЕ и СЕРДЦЕ.!!!
SKINNER!
Lol I thought it was Jeff Skinner
just did a summer camp with skinner for HRC camp
Did you ever teach Pavel Barber to stickhandle??
he reminds me a lot of you but he does shootouts so different
Whats the name of the first song? the intro

Интересно.как бы вела себя клюшка эфси 70 годов. Овечкин играет во время перехода.вратари стали больше защищены.но и клюшки .как небо и земля.
The man has excellent hand skills. Like I always say there are countless gifted people walking the planet this man is pure evidence of that very fact. Obviously has better hand skills than ovie
damn, Sean has some great stickhandling skills. Great video
I thought this was going to be Ovechkin with Jeff Skinner, oh well. This video was satisfying enough.
ovi´s toe-curve is crazy
Alex the best!!
Wtf mister skinner ! You got some skills
@Disgle you never know, a lot of them are just fancier versions of dekes you would probably already pull off.
ovechkin is sick
Sean your insane
are you related to Jeff Skinner? im just asking :D
well this i dont think was for a game but didnt u see ovie in the all star shootout and he used this and won the damn thing so dont think it doesnt take practice.
i shoot right because it's comfortable
@nevertweet015 The curve actually makes it easier to do that.
@kidpunk333 Ohhh. Tough guy. I'm 17, 6'1, 205 lbs. I use a 98 flex S19 to start off the season. And after half a season (xmas) i move down to 82. It's all mechanics bro.
peace out Sean skinner
umm.... obviously works and probably some of the best highlight reels roday
Let's try this tricks with Pavel Datsyuk
Sean skinner looks so silly when hes doing the moves with the stick
@TitaniumDRFT uuumm because his name is skinner?
menuda maquina de entrenar uuuuu aaaaa uuuuuu
It obviously works for him. Have you seen some of his goals??? It's not a surprise he has been so successful in his career.
Ovechkin, 65 goals in one season, i'd like to see jeff skinner score that many points
i thought it was going to be jeff skinner too but that guy is a monster!
i went to that camp
@KevinNoonanFick well obviously, he could of, he commited his life to training people..
great stuff! I sub-ed and liked can't wait to see more
i find that i can't do this stuff on command. i feel like once that faceoff happens and the game begins.. my skill level goes over 9000
i wonder what it would have been with datysuk and skinner
lmfao that guy is teaching OVY how to stickhandle, unbelievable
interessting part begins at 3:43 ^^
Nugent - Hopkins is defintly at there level
@Wbjpen its sean skinner
skineeeeeeeeeeeeeer
Ovi isn't as technically sound as a lot of other players like Crosby or Datsyuk, but he's got a raw talent for getting the puck in the net someway somehow.
emsjo.com really like this, gr8 job Skinner & Ovi
This is the rink I go to :)
true, but Ovechkin's speed, skating abilities, and shot makes up for it. He just blows right past the defenders and rips it
@3:23 holly crap
1:06 Ovechkin looks like: "Ooh, if i could do that!" :D
Skills competition??
better feel of the puck, probably.
Умение,Техника превыше всего.
.59 thats crazy
Ovechkin’s thinkin’ “ I’ll just freight train you one time into the boards and end all that shit right now”!
@smazz104 im quite positive he was being sarcastic
ha ive played on that rink
this guy is clearly still serious as hell
Lets see Sean Skinner's shot vs. Ovie...big difference
Music please ?
Clearly there is no point in teaching anyone what Ovi can do. Nobody will be able to repeat it anyway.
@davood14 kovalchuk. best with the puck in the nhl.
i have seans skates
I don't mean to be mean, but is that all you teach, picking the puck up
yup, only trains for 3:52 seconds and only trains picking up the puck. Damn are you Einstein?
@Xanota00 ok
I wish I could play hockey, why does it have to be so expensive...
I've played here before
if nhl 12 had a rating for sean skinner, his deking, and puck control would be 99
I'm going to your camp
