BARBER! funny seeing you here. Lol & to answer your question, no I am in the same boat haha. It displays a lot more skill than you can see in a game. Really makes players shine.
jordan of the hockey world. elevates the play of his teammates, makes those on his line better, plays offense, defense, fast paced, hard forecheck, knockdown drag out....all around great player
@@n3g802 edgework? Best EVER!! BTW I'm a Flyer's fan. I hate the penguins but it is downright foolish to not recognize this guy's insane amount of talent.
2:39 look at the goalie just flicking his arm up and saving the easy shot. Looks so cool, he's doing it so casually. I know it's a very easy shot but still, you can see that the reflexes are there.
@@Macker2613 it really was a dumb thing to say. I played Jr hockey at the highest level and we beat more Canadian teams than we lost to. 87 Unlikes? Clever but I'm not sure why there would be any on this video showing one of the best ever doing the little things that make him one of the best ever. That backhand is better than my forehand
sidney crosby is IMO the greatest technical hockey player ever - every single aspect of the game in terms of skill set (edgework, stckhandling, shooting, dekeing, eye/hand co-ord., protecting the puck, one hand on the stick) he has worked so hard at; and through talent and hard work has honed those skills to an unprecedented level. backhand at 4:13 - wow. i cannot think of one single player in the history of the game who embodies it all like crosby. gretky - brilliant mind, eye for the game. lemieux - 6'6" beast with great hands, neidermeir - stride, howe - strength and toughness, richard - heart and determination. orr - athleticiism but not one had it all like crosby. thought? comments? input?
I seriously used to not be a fan of crosby but his Hockey IQ is off the charts crazy and his playmaking ability is crazy and did anybody see that ridiculous backhand goal...?
I would watch Sid do anything in hockey, but thought now he should be relaxing, but I know he’ll do his best for next season, just hope he gets equal help for him, some of that team is not equal or even close😊😊
He had a net and sometimes missed it, so it destroyed the dryer. There's a commercial with Crosby vs. Talbot shooting where his mum and dad explain it.
One of if not the best two way players in hockey, ultra skilled as a stickhandler, sportsmanlike, fun to watch. I love Datsyuk, and would definitely put him in my top five forwards in the world (Ovechkin, Crosby, Stamkos, Datsyuk, Malkin). I'll give that Datsyuk outclasses Crosby as a defensive player (constantly the most takeaways in the NHL), and as a stickhandler, but he doesn't have Crosby's vision, shot, passing ability, explosiveness, or puck control.
I think it is a lot of hockey players as sidney crosby but sid plays in important play offs games with big heart and so much temperament.i think this player make each team where he is playing 20-30 % better when samebody sees him plaing with so much passion each player must play 120%.he does know loose the games.
There are great players in every era Lafleur, Bossy in long gone years.... None have dominated like Gretzky. Hockey minds living through many eras agree. Sid is a super star player. I have watched hockey for 4 decades to compare. He is a dominate player but he not a history changer with his hockey greatness like 99. (or 66)
Gretzky was the best ever, but if you look at the goalie stats at that time, they have never been weaker then in the early 80s. You put Crosby in that era in the shape he is in and he would be close to every record.
can we seriously stop comparing players from different eras .... i mean the way i see it ... different style different time different game but all these players were legends for the teams ( gretz, lemieux, sid, lafleur, roy) lets just appeciate what each of these legends did for their teams during their era! and just have fun marveling at the highlights we have on youtube
Da Choppah Stop talking about the gear. The gear doesnt matter nearly as much as youre making it out to, the style of play of the era is what sets them apart. Within a given generation every player has similar equipment. Even though nowadays everyone in the league has amazing top of the line gear, Crosby still dominates just like Gretzky did in his time. If you took Ken Dryden in his prime gave him brand new pads and threw him in a 2016 NHL game he would look like swiss cheese until he learned how to play butterfly. Likewise if you took Lundqvist and gave him tiny pads he would let up everything until he learned to play stand up style And not sure what your trying to prove by listing Kane's height and weight when Gretzkys height/weight was very similar, and the NHL average height/weight has been increasing ever since the leagues been around. Players like Kane Crosby and Gretzky put up points, theyre not supposed to be gladiators.
Hes got everything! Eyes-hands coordination, amazing strength, fast, hard worker...Now he need to stay healthy. Just to imagine how my head would hurt after a game (from getting hit),concussions must be awful, right?
I was testing you mate! ;) Many would've been selfish and wouldn't care about 99 or nr 9... Currently playing, I can't denie he isn't 1 of the best on the ice out there atm. Maybe he is the best maybe not I don't know... I can't denie eighter that he has insane skills. But he's not my favorite player. Datsyuk and Brodeur are.
Sidney Crosby es el mejor jugador de hockey. Él es el más rápido y el más talentoso. Él es mejor que Wayne Gretzky y Mario Lemieux. ¡Viva Sidney Crosby
That was a NASTY backhander that he beat the goalie top shelf with. I still would have said that even if that shot wouldn't have knocked the water bottle off of the net. Lol.
the fact that the video has no sound, except for the skates on the ice, makes it even more poetic
all i can say is that you know you have major talent when there are actual highlight clips of your practice lolol i love it
its amazing to see these guys practice. Really shows you how amazing they are
No matter if you like Crosby or not, its a great video to show younger kids how hard you must work and keep working to try and achieve your dreams
He makes it look so effortless too.
I literally watch this over and over and can’t get enough of it
“Not the hero we deserved, but the hero we needed”
Is it wrong that I love watching practice footage more than game footage?
BARBER! funny seeing you here. Lol & to answer your question, no I am in the same boat haha. It displays a lot more skill than you can see in a game. Really makes players shine.
It is a little bit wrong. But that's none of my business.
So much more to learn from practice footage than game footage, love it Pavel Barber
Pavel Barber Hey pavs
Pavel Barber The guy is so good people even want to watch him practice.
his all around talent is scary. speed/hands/vision is top 5 in all categories
jordan of the hockey world. elevates the play of his teammates, makes those on his line better, plays offense, defense, fast paced, hard forecheck, knockdown drag out....all around great player
Yoni Yampolsky Speed is like top 25 or so tbh. He's not even the fastest on his team
HappyPants he's not the slowest on the team by a long shot
DopWopBoppyNop doesn’t need to be fastest with his vision and ability to protect the puck

I like the way he skates on the ice surface and the way he moves the puck in the air using his hockey stick to shoot it into a hockey net.
This shows us why he's been so great for so long. He never stops working.

Only Orr skates like Orr
Jagr is my favorite. Sid is incredible
I love watching anybody who does stuff like this
As much as i hate the Penguins for the bandwagon fans they have... Crosby still is the most talented player i've seen in a long long LONG time.
It would be an honour to be scored by Sid. His shot especialy that close to the net is deadly and perfection.
Sid perfectly talanted.Hands,skating,vision.And he is big guy as well.No chance push him oug of his way.
A master at developing muscle memory. Skill beyond. And he does it all on two eighth-inch blades.
This kid is simply amazing to watch play. Just like Pavel Bure back in the day
I seriously used to not be a fan of crosby but his Hockey IQ is off the charts crazy and his playmaking ability is crazy and did anybody see that ridiculous backhand goal...?
one of the most talented ever,Canadian Skill
It doesn't matter what we see here. He always got one extra level.
A deep look into what it takes to truly be a great one.
Sid The Kid...Canadian Pride...this guy is a frickin awesome hockey player. Go Team Canada
I remember watching this like 6 years ago
At 00:35 I thought he was fumbling around with the puck but realized he was flipping it to himself and knocking it down... wow
He's from my home town.. And yes, he is the best!
Krazy Shady omg same!!!
Never been a fan of Crosby but man, you can't help but respect the TALENT and skill this kid possess. Wow.
"OH NY GAHHD SID!"
Crosby's got the best backhand in NHL
easily
him malkin and kane are legends at it lol

Insane edge work!
If I could play like that for only 1 day. Only 1 day in front of my family, friends, and most of all, my enemies.
One of the best of all time 100%
After that backhand that guy yells "OH MY FUCK" hahahaha
It's at 4:03 good call
He also did a goal just like this one in an actual game (while he was falling!!!)
I hope he stay healthy....Sid is an artist
damn if only I had free ice time like him when I was younger.
he didn't he had a room in his house and ended up destroying his mom's dryer from missing the net
Edson Midget Bruins he shot into the drier because he never had a net
lava bucket no I remember in a interview he said everyone heard him wrong lol
He had a net and sometimes missed it, so it destroyed the dryer.
There's a commercial with Crosby vs. Talbot shooting where his mum and dad explain it.
He found a pond somewhere in his backyard. That’s the way it was in Canadian winters
Кросби молодца! :)
Well I'm from pittsburgh and I love the penguins so I think crosby is the best.
It’s amazing his size and speed

Sportsmanlike? 😂😂
that backhand tho!😍
He’s probably thinking “How did he stop that?” every time he coasts in and flips a puck on net.
Sid the Kid, no one is better than him! Go Pens!
3:57 where did it go when he flicked the puck? seriously. lol
4:06 is just ridiculous.
Alex P. Keaton w
As a Bruins fan we hated the pens because they took our uniforms but we realize Sid can almost play with Bobby.
