Why middle schoolers sound better than the high school marching band: You're probably reading music off of a little sheet of paper while sitting down in nice enclosed room where you've spent time rehearsing with your band director who spoon feeds you every note and rhythm. Wait until your in marching band. Where you get your music a day before you have to perform it, teach yourself how to play it, and then memorize it. Marching bands spend way more time on perfecting their show rather than learning fun tunes to entertain the crowd during a football game and they certainly do not get their music handed to them by their director as something fun to play along with their warm ups at the beginning of band class.
Well directors perfect the marching band because they might be doing Marching Assessment or also called the marching contest. That's what I do in my band but I'm not sure about anyone else.. also one point for marching bands in half time performances is so the audience can get food from the concession stand. That's my opinion but I do respect your opinion as well ✊️
Lol my band director spends a lot of time on stand tunes and our show. He says that a good band will have a good show and a good quality of stand music. You should check us out on TH-cam. We have some cool shows. It’s Clear Falls Band ;) if anyone else’s band on here has a TH-cam I’ll check it out.
Man I play trombone as well and during concert or at least for me I’m a freshman last year in middle school trombones rarely had a big part but in stand tunes we had all the cool parts
Why are people criticizing middle school bands on how much they suck compared to high school? Of course they sound worse. They've only been playing for a few years rather than most high school kids have been playing from 5th to 12th grade. That's like making fun of the high school band compared to years of college bands. it unjustifiable and absolutely doesn't make sense so hop off unless you actually know what it's like to be in their situation.

Marching teaches you about pride and dedication but if you are in band you also should have respect for other bands. Honestly your band directors I guarantee would not approve of downing this band, that is by the way a great band. You thing you are so big and bad for posting all of these negative comments just to made your band sound better but you are doing the opposite. You are just making yourself sound immature. If you can't say anything nice about another band KEEP IT TO YOURSELF! NOBODY CARES. I REPEAT NOBODY CARES if you think you are better than them and I can guarantee their goal in this video was not to impress you. Peenut you can’t say anything cause you probably sit in the band room looking at music and playing it perfectly, but when they tell you to turn the stand around your probably gonna fall apart while the rest of your band is playing perfectly.

ive been playiing tuba since last november and ive absolutely fallen in love with it kinda sucks that i was the only one willing to change now im the only sousaphone in marching but its a great instrument and you need a good pair of lungs and a lot of ice packs for your shoulder lol

I’m in band, and I have a question (even tho I’m a musician lol) so like, in my band, the bass drums actually vibrate and make a big boom, but why in this, they sound like.. a solid? Idk I don’t like it as much, but it’s a genuine question, why does it sounds like you are hitting a table, instead of a big boom that’s felt in the chest? Is it because of the size of the sticks?

I play baritone (looks like a smaller version of a tuba and sounds like a trombone) I honestly could have played trumpet but my band director, when we were learning what instruments we can play, put the mouthpiece halfway on my mouth, making it look like I couldn’t make a sound -_-
@InvaderGir645 There's nothing wrong with wearing your drum during pep band, but don't you think you'd enjoy yourself more if you weren't held down by a drum? I think I would. Plus, it's much more satisfying to hit your drum like a tribal!
When we play the song we are like super energetic, the entire band starts jumping up and down at the begging while only the drums play its awesome.
