Ashita no joe taught me that burning your flames of passion till the point of no return can be the greatest purpose.(Which perfectly sets with the tone of boxing where cte is a possibility for every fighter who steps in the ring.) Everyone of us has passions that they burn their fire towards everyday- but to Burn Your Fire So Bright That Only White Ashes Remain.... That's A Glory that only very few can experience- A happiness of perishing and leaving this existence after feeling more Alive than anyone else on this earth could hope to feel. There can be 2 ultimate happinesses of life- With Family-Passing down your dreams and sprouting seeds of purpose in others. Or To Truly Feel Alive By Yourself Instead Of Living Via Connections With Others To Assure You Of Your Own Existence. To live and burn for your own purpose and passion- True Happiness within yourself without seeking connections with others. Joe is a man who had zero connection with the first one but the second one he is truly the epitome of it.
this philosophy assumes every passion's endpoint is something that is good, or worthwhile. some passions seem better on the other side than they do once you are there. how many people fought and bleed to get into hollywood for their dreams on the big screens only to realize hollywood is a dog eat dog place where people are used up and spit out without regard. how many content creators romantize being a popular youtuber only to be hit with the realities of the internet and popularity? some passions simply end badly. would you include the passion for vengance with burning one's flame out? hatred? thats the endpoint that leaves people with nothing. would you include the passion for someone to draw morally questionable artwork that sullies the name of god and family??? is every passion even worth burning away for with its end result and who should be the judge of that? some passions are just straight up unattainable and striving for them just leaves you with nothing but white ash and broken dreams

anime called Ashita No Joe. At the ending , Joe the protagonist dies after his World Title match due to Constant Severe Weight Cuts, Prevalent CTE and Pushing His Body to the limit. But his death was also more than just physical since he himself had no reason to live after fighting the Strongest Man in the World.
@@Introversion399 no that’s actually what a tragedy type story is. The hero (protagonist) struggles and dies/fails. Opposite is a comedy where the hero struggles and prevails. 🎭

They don't make anime like this anymore 😢
There's plenty of great, adult oriented anime. You just have to look beyond the surface. These days its all buried underneath isekais and harem anime.
