Amrabat's strong point is that he moves across the middle of the field from right to left and tries to prevent the opposing team's attackers from shooting or making assists. what the majority ignores is that Amrabat had another mission in this match, namely to stop Liverpool's best player Szoboszlai. The latter recorded a poor performance thanks to the work of Amrabat but unfortunately the spectators only watch the players who dribble or who score the goals and don't forget the last season with the same players in addition to Casimero Mu lost 7_0. Without Amrabat and with Mainoo against New castel the midfield was open and catastrophic.Against Galatasaray before 60 mn with Amrabat the score 3_1 and after without Amrabat and with Mainoo the score 3_3 Amrabat with his playing system allowed his Moroccan team to reach the semi-final of the World Cup by beating the best teams in the world Belgium, Spain and Portugal. Amrabat has stopped the best players in the world from scoring goals and making assists like De Bryan Léon lokaku Silva Bruno Felex Cancelo Ronaldo Modric Gavi Pedri Fati
Kobbie doesn't need to replace Amrabat, he needs to play alongside, or with 1 other player. We need two in the midfield anyway, this was obvious from the 1st game of the season against Wolves. The midfield gaps then were huge, and they still will be with only 1 in midfield.
McTominay in that midfield is a way bigger problem than Amrabat for now. With mainoo and amrabt we at least have two midfielders capable of keeping their position, better defensively and better on the ball than mctominay. Just have to put bruno in mctominay's place
For how the team is at this point in time it's McTominay that needs replacing in midfield. With the way he's being used, he's much better as an impact sub. Other than that he contributes almost nothing in defence or attack. With more technical players on the ball we might actually have a chance of controlling games and getting more feasible chances for our attackers.
@@AtlantisFootball I totally agree with you that Mainoo is better at playing 6 than Amrabat but we also saw he’s better going forward than being a ball-winner. We need both 6 and 8. The question is who’ll partner Mainoo and what’s his best position. He totally reminds me of Makalele! Mainoo will be a waste of talent if we don’t build our midfield around him. I’ll rather have him as a free 6 or 8 than a single pivot 6. Both Amrabat and McT should be a substitute. They’re better off the bench. At least, McT can score, still don’t understand why we prioritize Amrabat over Gravenberch. That’ll forever be a mystery to me.
@@wolfswinkel8906watch Everton a bit more. He's a good player. Similar physical profile to McTominay but significantly better and more tactically disciplined. Only thing I think McTominay does better is score goals.
I like debating with you. Got to do the double pivot whilst times are rough. Play both! I think Amrabat was ok. But generally agree. Mainoo looks incredibly comfortable against the press, especially in such a huge game
I agree. I like having football debates with Atlantis because he analyses and breaks the game down well. I understand why Atlantis is saying Mainoo should play the single-pivot role. Mainoo is good against the press and can be the player to start the attack from deep. The problem is our backline with Maguire and Evans who are extremely slow and don't cover ground fast enough. Once we fix the backline we can experiment with Mainoo playing CDM.
I like Amrabat. He came to the club injured and without a pre season with his new teammates. We need players like him that are good on the ball but more importantly are prepared to suffer for the Benefit of the team, a characteristic that we lack throughout the squad and have done for a long time.
Exactly. He has started 7 PL games. One of which was at LB. One of which, he came off at half time. No pre season. Brand new team, brand new league. Apparently this is enough to judge him as a player. Not including games where he played LB or came off at half time, his longest run of starts has been 4 games in all comps. He played genuinely well in these games as well. Chelsea especially was an amazing performance. He also had another run of games earlier in the season, where he was very good before he was dropped for no reason. The fact that he isn't given game time AND people are disrespecting him is mind blowing to me.
Without Amrabat, we'd surely lose that game. Amrabat was average for about 15 minutes, but was good for the rest. Mctominay was good for about 10 minutes in the second half, but was basically invisible on and off the ball. Mctominay needs to go
@@johnlau6749 Btw, I never said United were good, they were shit. I just said without Amrabat, Liverpool would beat them up, imagine if Eriksen or Mount playing instead of Amrabat 🤣🤣🤣
@@johnlau6749 "On other day" that's the lamest excuse ever!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣 United have a total of 11 injuries and suspensions against Liverpool + Shaw was injured 4 days earlier and Rashford played while having illness. What other day are they waiting for? 🤣🤣 Injuries are real issues, Complaining about "it was not their day" is such a lame excuse
Utd need a defensive but progressive box to box midfielder. Maybe mount can be better defensive than eriksen though he isn't good at moving the ball as eriksen
Both casemiro and amrabat struggled in a single pivot because they had no one to back them up and got ran through now expecting mainoo to succeed where they failed. Mctominay should be the one to be dropped he does absolutely nothing for most of the game, we basically playing with 10 men.
Amrabat had a real stinker of a game, but I'm not sure he's not able to perform at a higher level than that. I wouldn't write him off just yet. I'm also not sure Mainoo would be able to be a huge step up in the DM position, given that he also isn't the fastest of sthletes. Maybe he can be that player in a few years. But right now he would have to compensate for lack of speed with a very high level of reading the game. I think Casemiro in the 6, when he's back, and Mainoo in the 8, will be our best midfield. Amrabat can rotate for Casemiro. And in games where we would dominate I can see Mainoo in the 6 with Mount or Eriksen in the 8. But maybe Mainoo in the 6 can be a bit of an upgrade until Casemiro is fit again. Not sure who will play in the 8 in this period though. Maybe Mejbri...
Both mainoo and amrabat will struggle this season without a true number 8 who helps them defensivley and to progress the ball... i think these two should play together more often as mainoo is an 8 if we can get a 10 id be hype
Regularly playing very young footballers in the Premier League can pose several risks. Physically, they may be more susceptible to injuries due to their bodies still developing and adjusting to the intensity of professional football. Mentally, the pressure and scrutiny of top-level competition might affect their confidence and overall well-being. Additionally, excessive playing time at a young age could lead to burnout or hinder long-term development. It's crucial to find a balance that allows young players to gain experience without compromising their physical and mental health. Another concern is that young players may not have fully developed their ability to read the game and situations. This could make them more susceptible to being tackled or challenged in ways they may not anticipate, increasing the risk of injuries. Their lack of experience in protecting themselves on the field could expose them to situations that more seasoned players might navigate with greater awareness.
@@AtlantisFootball On the flip side, there are numerous wonderboys who didn't quite made it. At Manchester United, notable mentions include Norman Whiteside, Rodrigo Possebon, Adnan Januzaj, and Ben Thornley. One could also consider adding Martial and Marcus Rashford to this list. While I understand your confidence in Mainoo's abilities - he's a fantastic footballer - I believe we, as fans, shouldn't insist on him playing every game. If we nurture his development gradually, we can savor his talent for a decade or more, steering clear of the pitfalls that some wonderkids face due to pressure, injuries, and burnout.
How is that an L take 🤣🤣🤣 Amrabat is clearly the issue in build up. McTominay is also an issue but saying Amrabat is not an issue after that display is a clear L take
@@AtlantisFootball I agree Amrabat isn’t the best in build up but we still need him in the double pivot as I would rather have Amrabat and Mainoo than Mctominay and Mainoo. So if we drop Amrabat then who would play beside Mainoo? Mctominay 😂
@AtlantisFootball I don't think Mainoo has the physical attributes to play the single pivot role this season with our backline leaking so many goals. For now giving Mainoo that deep playing CM role Ericksen had last season would really show case his talent and help with the attacking build up. Probably in the future when we stabilize the backline with better quality CB we could consider using Mainoo as the single pivot infront of the backline which is what Ten Hag wanted Frenkie de Jung to do.
@@AtlantisFootball technical ability and intelligence he definitely has over both Amrabat and Casemerio but physicality I don't think so. Remember Liverpool doesn't have big strong physical men in their front line like other teams for him to be tested in that particular game. I'll watch back the tapes with all the games Mainoo played in so far including pre-season to reassess him. For now, the Carrick or Ericksen role is the best place I see fit for Mainoo with the current squad and injuries.
@AtlantisFootball Not too long ago, you made a video highlighting how Amrabat is not only a sound defensive midfielder, his passing game is also great playing as a deepline playmaker in Serie A. Has that changed or he's just not able to show his quality in a poorer team?
Overlooked the fact that in Fiorentina he wasn’t playing in an aggressive man to man press where he has to deal with bigger spaces in midfield or playing out under aggressive pressure with his back to goal. He’s still a good player but just not the level United need in these big games
Question - how tall is Kobi Mainoo - hes down as 5.9" but a image from the villa game shows him stood next to Christian Eriksson and he clearly taller than Eriksson. His height is 5.11". I reckon the stats are currently out of date
Ambrabat’s potential will only be seen next season, playing in the epl , he will take some time to get used to and isn’t a bad option. Question is, can he be trained to be more a single man holding midfielder when we attack, if no then better to let him go.
Amrabat was poor against Liverpool, but this was by far his worst game this season. Not to mention how many times he was getting left on his own, as all of our 6's have this season. Look at his game against Chelsea and he doesn't make half of these mistakes. Mainoo does not have the experience needed to play as our main 6. He literally cost us both of our goals against West Ham, it was terrible defending. It's not his fault, but he's 18, he lacks the experience needed in certain situations. This is where Amrabat's positioning and awareness is absolutely levels above Mainoo's, and the main reason why he needs to be starting. In pretty much every clip shown, his positioning was great, his tackling is just poor and he's not physical enough. I put that down to coming to a much more physical league, but I'll admit that the way he tackles is incredibly weird and frustrating. Either way, I think he deserves more than 5 games to prove himself? Especially considering that he had no pre season and came from a different and much less physical league.
None of man utd current defensive midfielders can play single pivot. Mainoo has his own attributes and so does Amrabat. It’s Bruno that needs to be more sensible about giving away possession and creativity when part of the midfield trio. Also, ten hag is just being unnecessarily stubborn keep playing Bruno every game when the likes of eriksen or mount can replace him.
With eriksen back, utd can get back to the double pivot. Maino and eriksen. However defensive discipline for eriksen should be considered. Amrabat seems not yet up to speed with the tempo and speed of the league as he seems late for tackles. I still believe man utd need to set up defensively well
Nah Eriksen can’t play in a double pivot unless you have Casemiro and Mainoo there. He can’t run at all, gets completely bypassed and means United can’t press anywhere near as effectively. Eriksen is really just a player to bring off the bench at this point
@AtlantisFootball so would u have mctominay? I agree eriksen doesn't do well defensively. Mount not available that leaves amrabat. So yes amrabat is okay in that Westhampton game. Because Westhampton will run at utd.
@@AtlantisFootball Amrabat would have been perfect in the double pivot alongside Mainoo, however he seems to be struggling. It's either he's nursing an injury or just can't keep up with the pace in the league. For me, he didn't do enough to stop the cross that led to Bournemouth's goal. Mount is the other option, but ....time will tell.
Nah he’s just not good enough in that deep pivot position. Probably is he’s also not the player you want further forward. Like with Antony, Casemiro and Amrabat ten Hag has signed players who aren’t good enough for the role that they need to play.
Amrabat looking like a downgrade on Fred. I really wanted him to do well, having watched him in the world cup, I thought he was going to be a great signing. He could still turn it around of course, but he's had a fair few changes, and looks a whole level below the standard required. Keep in mind, he's not playing with world class players alongside him in Midfield, and he looks significantly worse than what's around him. Against Liverpool, he just couldn't handle anything, any of the pressure, any opportunity, he was slow, both in reading of the game and keeping up with players. Didn't seem to have much understanding of what's around him, he was really a complete liability in this position and inviting problems for his team mates... exactly what you don't want from someone playing this position. Rest of the season, it would be good to see Casemiro and Mainoo together, when he's fit. People seem to be forgetting how good Casemiro was last season, and how exposed he was (tactically) at the start of this one - he hasn't turned into a turd player over night. It's real grim watching right now, but hopefully when some of these numerous players start to come back fit again, it'll improve things. We really are missing a lot... but obviously some players need to leave and we need reinforcements... usual story!
I disagree with the single pivot tactic entirely it’s got us nowhere progressively. I think to try what other top teams do you need grafters who are positionally intelligent flanking Kobbie, either a Fred in terms of lungs 🫁 up and down the pitch remember Ancellotis Milan of Gattusso and Pirlo, with Seedorf running rings around the pitch. At Manchester United we had Keane , Scholes, then Carrick, Fletcher or Anderson these guys ran and were smart, but today’s game is more about athleticism, back then some guys weren’t athletes just talented and smart take, Riquelme or Matt Le Tessier so skillful but he wasn’t athletically great.
This is one analysis I'm totally disagreeing with... Like, it's false. You don't have to make Amrabat look bad because you want to play mainoo... Liverpool press was very aggressive and if not for Amrabat, we would have concede more. Amrabat is not athletic but he's calm on the ball and has been orchestrating decently for us. Mainoo is golden but Amrabat is not a problem at all.
Mainoo against Newcastle played the single pivot role...TBH he was trash.... JOELINTON was running through him....I agree with Martin stop making amrabat look so bad just to overhype that boy Mainoo ... Like you said UTD had a good Game on defensively but everyone was trash offensevely ...
@@kingmufasa8173 🤣🤣🤣 Mainoo was not trash at all in that. How deluded are we. I didn’t make Amrabat look crap, he made himself look poor. Lmao trying to defend Amrabat by saying Mainoo was trash in that role. He is far better than Amrabat there 🤣🤣🤣
@@AtlantisFootball I'm not trying to defend anyone here... I just think all of UTD was very bad ,they were just lucky Liverpool wasn't on their Game.....I agree you that Mainoo is UTD's best regista but he is not better than amrabat defensively plus amrabat can be good in possession maybe he had a bad Game but he doesn't always try those hollywood passes like Case(which make UTD lose the ball cheaply) and he can protect the ball using his body which eriksen can't ...he is the not Busqet type or Rodri in build up but the the second best in UTD squad.....only weakness on his Game is aerial duels
False Mainoo does not have the physicality and gas to be able to win us position and cover distance in that position compared to Amrabat.... He is a good ball player that's why I'd rather play both of them in the midfield and replace Mctomionay
No he wasn’t 🤣🤣🤣 what game did you watch. He constantly gave the ball away and provided no solidity in midfield. Stop using the word “agenda” 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I could just say you have an agenda
Allow me to disagree For Now I'll play both of them with Bruno as de 10 Mainoo is a good playee but pls we still need Amrabat in that Midfield with Bruno
I prefer amrabat To mctominay seriously that's we can't count on amrabat art the long term we have To search a young and good cdm Next season we must be separate with case and eriksen lindelof antony lindelof martial and may be Bruno for building with youngest profils
I think, even Casemiro isn't the type of progressive carrier midfielder, but is the guy who likes to do many of break-the-line passing before, progressive passing. But lately his quality is declined. I still think that, Kobbie Mainoo is much more like smaller version of Paul Pogba (anyone who has been follow the youth squad should know this). He wasn't that great in defensive duties, even he did great job, but in the long-term it's not his natural role. His tackle and physical wasn't that great, his physical strength is still in developing phrase. So, my suggestion would be to use Kobbie Mainoo as no.8 role, while Casemiro or Amrabat doing no.6 things, because if you bring Mainoo that low, to me, it's kinda similar to use Pogba there, it's wasting his potential. To me Mainoo should stay a bit higher as no.8 role. Stick with Casemiro or Amrabat until the end of the season, then we find another real no.6 in the summer. While Mason Mount still under his injury problem and Scott McTominay isn't that helpful in midfielder duties, let Mainoo play his game might be better. Casemiro is on his track for coming back, with him and Amrabat, that's enough for no.6, imo.
Nah Mainoo is far more like a seedorf than a Pogba. He’d be wasted as an 8. Has to play as a 6 long term. Mainoo is excellent defensively, much better than Pogba every was
@@AtlantisFootball I didn't say Mainoo is bad defensively, I didn't say Casemiro or Amrabat is that excellent. But if we already have 2 no.6, then we shouldn't play Mainoo there. Unless we terminate Amrabat's loan deal or sell Casemiro this January, which I find it doesn't make any sense, not from the management point of view. Unless we expect to sell players out so easy like we're playing Winning Pro Eleven or something. Plus, imo, no.6 as a single pivot, need more aggressive or exceptional accuracy when tackling on the ball, I truly don't think that's a strength of Kobbie Mainoo, to stand there alone. So, if you wanna play him there on this stage, I'm oppose the idea. But as double pivots along with Casemiro or Amrabat, I'm on it. Clearly back in the match with Newcastle, United's midfielders just got physically bullied by Joelinton and Bruno. McTominay's lack of aggressive were one of the reason why he cannot help Mainoo on that day. So, my personal answer for Mainoo as a no.6 in a single pivot is hell no. But double pivots, along with aggressive and defensive awareness like Casemiro or Amrabat is better. Until we've got new no.6, I prefer double pivots with Kobbie Mainoo.
Hopefully amrabat will go in January to afc and you will see how poor your midfield will perform during that period. You will see, the same problem will arise again. the big black whole in the midfield and then who you will play with? casemiro and mainoo? mainoo and erikssen? mainoo and mctominay? you will be destroying that genius kid and have a manchester of 2 months ago where every other attack in the PL can pass through.. good luck
Lol, well you have all seen what Mainoo did against West Ham today. The whole team is garbage. Casimero failed to shine and Amrabat will too. Good players don't just fit in with average players. Amrabat was without a doubt the best defensive midfielder in the World Cup. He was also a key player at Fiorentina. Then, he came to this garbage of a team. Man U is doomed. No player or coach will fix it. Amrabat is a top class player. And so is Casimero. Just becuse they have had a miserable experience at Man U will not change who they are. And of course no one wants to talk about how awful McTominay is lol
Mainoo's best position is an 8 because he doesnt look like a destroyer like case or kimmich. I'd say for next season, he should play alongside mejbri and oyedele as backup youth trio in midfield because I think united should play bruno as an 8, mount as a 10 and, if we do manage to sign him, youssouf fofana as a 6.
@AtlantisFootball I agree with you on that. I thought that if oyedele were to also breakthrough into the first team, he'd be played as a 6 and mainoo will be an 8. As for mount, I'd play him as a 10 cause I feel bruno is better defensively.
just stop man ! every day there is a new player we want in our new line up. Mainoo, no matter what, is an 18 year old. He should not be exposed to high intensity football so early in this career. You need to give him time to build the physicality and muscles to play at that level in and out. This is more important for Mf 6/8. One injury and you are done. Look at Gavi and he plays for spanish league. He needs to be slowly integrated into the team and enough rest needs to be given to him. I am talking about at least 4-5 years of playing from the bench for PL and European games and may be play first 11 in cup games. Stats only you get you so far. I am a data scientist myself but the way stats are absorbed by the audience needs to be checked
Utter nonsense 🤣🤣🤣 Mainoo has to play. This fan base I’m sure doesn’t even care about winning. We play our best players regardless of age. Look at Bellingham, Haaland, Saka etc. Gavi is the worst example 🤣🤣 he’s been thrown in straight away. 4-5 years 🤣🤣🤣 have a laugh, he should be a starter week in week oht
Yeah I understand about not exposing them to high intensity football but we have to get back to winning ways and having him start can do that. Amrabat is not good enough and so is mctominay. As long as you're good enough, you are old enough. He should start games as the single pivot And then Bruno and Hannibal as the two roaming number 10. And then take him off maybe in the 70th minute for amrabat and then Hannibal for scott. I also thought amad made recovery. Why haven't I seen him in subs lately.

I think Casemiro and Mainoo would be a good double pivot.
Both casemiro and amrabat struggled in a single pivot because they had no one to back them up and got ran through now expecting mainoo to succeed where they failed. Mctominay should be the one to be dropped he does absolutely nothing for most of the game, we basically playing with 10 men.
Yeah but United need a player who can do that. Amrabat was far too easy to bypass in the centre. He has to do better in those individual duels
@@AtlantisFootball Casemiro couldnt even do it and he is our best cdm it doesnt matter good you are if you no support you are going to get run through
Nah Mainoo can do it. As can Kamara and Onana. It’s because Casemiro and Amrabat are slow and clunky.
Amrabat did have support all game from Mainoo. But he failed in individual duels
You know your football @delusionalunicorn7545,
Great video! Hopefully you’re still planning on making the who man utd should sign videos, love those.
Nah he has to Play. Look at Saka, Bellingham etc. all have become elite players by age of 20/21
@@AtlantisFootball
On the flip side, there are numerous wonderboys who didn't quite made it.
Mctominay is the one needs dropping mate. L take
How is that an L take 🤣🤣🤣 Amrabat is clearly the issue in build up.
He defo has the physical attributes. At least more than Casemiro and Amrabat

@AtlantisFootball Not too long ago, you made a video highlighting how Amrabat is not only a sound defensive midfielder, his passing game is also great playing as a deepline playmaker in Serie A. Has that changed or he's just not able to show his quality in a poorer team?
@atlantisfootball ....please to answer the question
Overlooked the fact that in Fiorentina he wasn’t playing in an aggressive man to man press where he has to deal with bigger spaces in midfield or playing out under aggressive pressure with his back to goal. He’s still a good player but just not the level United need in these big games
@@femi_danjuma what is?

@@AtlantisFootball probably true
Also, ten hag is just being unnecessarily stubborn keep playing Bruno every game when the likes of eriksen or mount can replace him.
this video is a strong evidence that mctominay need to be swap out with bruno and both amrabat n mainoo at his back
With eriksen back, utd can get back to the double pivot.
Great analysis. Is it a case of Amrabat just didn't have a good game or he just cant be that player to be with Mainoo in midfield?
Nah he’s just not good enough in that deep pivot position. Probably is he’s also not the player you want further forward. Like with Antony, Casemiro and Amrabat ten Hag has signed players who aren’t good enough for the role that they need to play.
With all fairness, its not Ten Hag's fault that he hasn't been able to sign the right players. Has to be said@@AtlantisFootball
Yes it is 🤣🤣🤣 he signed Mount, Amrabat, Casemiro and Antony
Ten hag need to pair Gorge and mainoo deadly dual
This is one analysis I'm totally disagreeing with... Like, it's false. You don't have to make Amrabat look bad because you want to play mainoo... Liverpool press was very aggressive and if not for Amrabat, we would have concede more. Amrabat is not athletic but he's calm on the ball and has been orchestrating decently for us. Mainoo is golden but Amrabat is not a problem at all.
Mate Amrabat is 100% the problem. You are in denial. I gave multiple examples as well. I didn’t try to make Amrabat look bad he did that himself

Allow me to disagree For Now I'll play both of them with Bruno as de 10 Mainoo is a good playee but pls we still need Amrabat in that Midfield with Bruno
I prefer amrabat To mctominay seriously that's we can't count on amrabat art the long term we have To search a young and good cdm
Next season we must be separate with case and eriksen lindelof antony lindelof martial and may be Bruno for building with youngest profils
Antony played well bro
Maybe defensively. Going forward he was attrocious as usual
Mainoo is excellent defensively, much better than Pogba every was
Casemiro and Amrabat aren’t good enough to play that 6 role, particularly in big games. Has to be Mainoo
The title is wrong! It should be Mainoo replacing McTominay. Amrabat is far superior to McTominay. Bruno comes back in at 10!
why are tacticos saying he willplay lcm in future?
Tacticos?
Play Maino Amrabat and Bruno that's a balance midfield
Just becuse they have had a miserable experience at Man U will not change who they are.

just stop man ! every day there is a new player we want in our new line up. Mainoo, no matter what, is an 18 year old.
