Sadly, he's lost his beloved Nora now. So nice to see a man so committed to caring for his wife, who has a degenerative disease that's only going to get more challenging. Dementia is a horrible condition that robs a person of everything they hold dear. My love goes out to you wherever you are today ❤️.

Stoked to see him looking well and with high spirits despite what's going on in his world. Every time I see or hear from John in an interview or some sort of media appearance over time he just rises in my ranks. One of the very, very few people in today's world that I believe in, and this is coming from a genuine disbeliever in the modern world. Long live John Lydon.

I can honestly say that my mum and Johnny would’ve been great friends had the universe worked in such a way that they would’ve known each other. She was silent generation but She was a poet and a machinist and she would’ve really got him. She had an uncompromisable biting honesty and was the best ear a friend and a kid could have. She would’ve revered his honesty which is so refreshing especially now. I grew up around a few real and very necessary characters and JL reminds me a lot of them. I always feel like I’m standing on solid ground and I feel energised where ever I go down the Lydon rabbit hole. This is a great discussion and it feels like a couple of fellas at the pub. 👍👍

Punk icon and truth teller about a classical liberal arts education as well. I knew he was sharp since I was a fan in the 80s, now have more insight as to why. Cheers from the US Mr. Lydon!

      Its pretty self-explanatory.
Sorry, am I supposed to drop to my knees & start blowing him on command, like 90% of people commenting here?
Used to have serious respect for the man. But after recent years of his warped logic, backtracking with alternative facts, his Politics, and his insanely monstrous ego, it eventually gets too much to listen to. And impossible to believe even half of it.
They say there's two sides to every story. But with him there are 10+ and often he gives different sides to his own stories.
I've loved Sex Pistols and Public Image Ltd for decades, and still do. But there's always one common denominator to the bands constant arguments and change in line-up. And it always seems to be down to him.
It's amazing how few good things Ex band mates have to say about him.
Like how John wrote every Pistols song, according to him. The other members were just dead weight. His backing band, according to him.
But funny how virtually all of the other members have had nonstop successful careers, even to this day.
Even Glen Matlock is currently on a big tour with Blondie.
Same story with "his other creation" PIL Ltd. They seem to do quite well on their own too.
Actually saw Jah Wobble a few years ago in a sold out show and he was great.
But as John Lydon would have you believe, they are just dead weight without him too.
He's a multimillionaire Property Owner with buildings all over Chelsea one day. Then he's doing Ads for Butter the next because he needs to fund a new PIL Ltd Album.
Then he's bankrupt in an obsurd charade of a frivolous Lawsuit with the rest of the Pistols, over an agreement he'd used to his own advantage many times before. And then throws a tantrum when it fails. Claiming poverty. But then boasting about his LA mansion, while obviously keeping the UK mansion too.
He can't even keep his own lies straight.
One things for sure though. He'll still cash those Royalty Cheques from the TV Series, Merch, Re-releases of Records, etc etc.
Because they are the hottest ticket in town right now.
Plus can't help but notice that his 2015 Book seems to have a bump in sales, which means yet another Re-release and cash-in.
I'm sure his other Book will follow, if it hasn't already.
He's also doing another Pil Ltd tour, which I'm sure is a completely coincidental that the timing lined up with the release of the new TV Series he tried so desperately to stop, knowing full well he couldn't.
So for all his hot air, he's sure to pick up a right pretty penny for all his torment.
Overall he'll do very, very well out of the whole situation.
"Ever get the feeling you've been cheated?"
He may have been talking about the Sex Pistols back then.
But right now that question would have a very different answer.
Bottom line is Steve Jones wrote a better book. And tbh it must've taken a lot to dredge up the past like that. Just how grim his personal life was. It was a story worth telling, warts and all. So it's highly commendable in that regard.
But as usual John Lydon wanted to make it all about John Lydon. It was his way or no way at all. But as I said, it's a massive pay day either way.

Thank you for your honesty. Its a refreshing change from the YT comments.
Tbh I grew up loving John Lydon as an outspoken provocateur. Always speaking his mind, no matter the consequences. I'd read and watch anything I could about him. (Pre Internet days of course).
But somewhere along the line something changed, and its like he turned on everything he'd stood for, for decades.
It's like common sense went out the window, and he started making moves that saw him as a respectable Conservative, even though they were everything he supposedly despised. Almost like he was running for Election and was whitewashing his history.
Like over night he went from the "Liberal Working Man's man" to a Conservative Tory Voter. The complete opposite of what he always stood for.
He Suppported Brexit when it was obviously going against the Working Class, which he supposedly stood for.
Don't think he voted in US 2016 Election as he might not have been full Citizen yet. But he again vocally backed Conservative Republican Txxxx.
He did a complete uturn on everything Sex Pistols related, that actually got him famous to begin with.
In fact in this interview here you'll notice he refers to Sid Vicious as John Ritchie, without noting they are the same person.
FFS he even went to the trouble of posting on the Public Image Ltd and his own FB page that he's distancing himself from the "bad language" in the TV Series and on the Sex Pistols FB page, or anything Band related. And again says how he doesn't agree with such atrocious language.
The same man who made himself famous for Anarchy and such language.
Plus Danny Boyle, who Directed the TV Series openly said he's delighted with the arguing and hopes John continues his vendetta.
A more sceptical person might assume this is all a set up to hype up the show and sell more Merch & Re-releases.
And the fact there's so much back & forth on Forums indicates it's working.
Pretty sure God Save The Queen hit Number 1 in this week's charts.
What do you reckon? Are we all being played?
All the Singles, the Album, & Books are selling out. They even released a Limited Coin to mark the Jubilee.
Don't get me wrong. If they are doing another Rock n' Roll swindle, then well done to them. Its pretty genius, and a long time coming.
      What fo you think?

I bought a PIL single as a joke for a friend long ago, but as we listened to it it wasn't a joke, it was absolutely great! The single was Rise, then I just had to buy all the PIL stuff.

I bought Album as my first foray into the band. Rise is a great single and a scathing commentary on South Africa's brutal apartheid regime and its use of torture of civilians who've been accused of nothing.

I always love listening to John Lydon speak! Everything he says seems to be with sense & truth, truth & sense, as he said, with his childhood experience with meningitis! Seems to me like it must have been a road to Damascus experience for him which has led him through his life, even to this day! I loved listening to this conversation, I could watch it again, I watched some of the other ones too, I listened to some of the Sex Pistols & PIL on TH-cam a few times, To see PIL live one day, or if ever the sensitive things could work themselves out between the Sex Pistols, it would probably take me back to the 9 or.10 year old 70,s boy, my ears pricking up the sound coming out from the speakers on the wall, as we sat at the dinner table having our tea!
    Blessings Sir! 😎
