@@gustavominas Fantastic work, Gustavo. Ho much do you use your 27mm compared to the zoom? I'm considering buying my first fujji and I'm conflicted between the fixed 23mm lens of a fuji x100f or a fujixe3 with a 27mm pancake lens. I know you prefer your 27, but how often do you rely on the zoom? Thanks a lot! and again, fantastic work...
@@ErikvonStrongber hi Erik, I tend to use the zoom lens when I want something different, once or twice a month I use it, then after a couple of days I get tired of it. it makes my process slower, compared to the 27mm. I like to use it when I feel like exploring more details, or trying a more abstract image. It's great for shooting reflections as well, because you can compress layers and sometimes you come out with something unexpected. I think that Fuji 23mm is too wide and a bit distorted, it doesn't work the same way as a 35mm in full frame.
A major talent producing art from the ordinary. He has a distinct look. Perhaps he is not a great self-promoter but, for me, he could be Magnum material.
@@jochemcasier6974 I'd have to agree his style is similar to Alex Webb and Harry Gruyaert, a lot of focus on colour, light and shadow. You should check out Gabi Ben Avraham, he shoots a lot in Tel Aviv and around the globe. Incredible storyteller.
This production is of the highest quality, I love how you capture it all without much editing. This method does not force anything, it’s all human and natural. Like taking a walk with a friend. You are an amazing street photographers and you make great videos about this subject. Also Bello makes a great job too! Thank you!
Regularly come back to this video. Got a print from Gustavo for Xmas and also booked a workshop with him in London in June. All came from this video and the influence he had on me when I was only starting out. Hope to see this series make a comeback soon
What a pro. Seriously, Gustavo is so inspiring. You can tell the years of persistence as he described it that went into his craft. These episodes are binge worthy, so good! Thank you Lintaro!
Without any doubt Gustavo is my favorite photographer in your "On the street with" series so far!! His work is truly amazing, and of course the production for the video is top notch. Thanks Samuel!
Thank you Samuel for let me discover Gustavo’s work. I love his composition and how he captures the light. He’s a “monster” of shooting, always focused while walking and speaking to you. Great!
This channel is definitely time well spent in the ocean of time wasters that can be TH-cam! I’m always learning a lot on this channel and had never heard of this fellow Brazilian before (probably because I’ve been out of Brazil since over 10y). Really one the best interviews so far :) I will look up Gustavo’s book, it will certainly have a nostalgic feeling for me 😊
I've always thought that extraordinary fastness is one of the marks of a true master artist. Think of Picasso lightpainting, Hendrix playing. Gustavo is living proof of that theory. He is doing masterpieces like a machine in this video.
I watched this video on my way to London to visit the 3 Street Gallery and go shoot with friends, Gustavo has since become one of my favourite photographers and his awesome book Maximum Shadow, Minimal Light arrived to my house today!
This a fantastic video! Gustavo is a master of the craft. His book is a masterpiece, breathtaking. I highly recommend getting a copy. And thanks to him, I got to know your fantastic work both here and Instagram, Samuel!
Amazing, love this series, love to discover new photographers every time you upload one of this or in the GR Project , congrats! Gustavo, you're great, hats off to you and to Samuel for this great channel, discovering channels like this one makes me think more and more why do I still pay Netflix ha!
Great video. Thanks for letting me know Gustavo Minas' work. His work reminds me of Alex Webb's, with his constant attention to how different layers and light ends up composing a complex but somehow 'ordered' image. Beautiful work.
What a great video, OMG. Superbly edited, superbly built up - it shows your talent, Samuel! Thank you for creating and sharing it! Your interviewee is also amazing. It was very inspiring to watch this episode!
*Watching during covid-19* OMG look at everyone touching everything and standing soo close together! Great work Samuel. I had never heard of Gustavo, great photographer. It was also great to first learn about Carlos Moreira. Thank you for sharing.
Wow. What a great video. Gustavo is a real genius. Many thanks for posting this on TH-cam. I now have a new favorite photographer. Please visit more cities in the future and showcase regional street photographers. Bravo, Samuel!!
Love this series, it’s great to see how different people approach things. Watching people who have been doing it for for a lot longer than me work always gives me ideas and things to go and try when I’m out again
Thank you for the video, and the effort you do to show more photographers and different approaches to street photography, Gustavo is a great photographer
I've watched this at least 3 times...Samuel, ty for bringing these excellent photographers to us! I'm shooting now and your channel has been a huge influence 🙏
Thanks, really great. Today is my 50th birthday and we were meant to be celebrating in Portugal which isn't happening now because of the virus, however the big news is I ordered Maximum Shadow Minimal Light for myself and it arrived today 😁😁😁 it's a fabulous book x

wow, thanks ;)
