    On the front of the Dell Optiplex 7050 there is space to add a fan, does anyone know where I can connect it?

    • @evil-scotsman335
      @evil-scotsman335 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You need a splitter to add a front fan or use a HUB/controller , I'm moding a 5050 for my son atm , just ordered a new low profile cooler and some argb fans to light it up a bit for him. Seen a few videos were they use the controller for the rgb to work as the dell motherboard doesn't come with those headers

    I didn’t notice you mention this but look for coolers explicitly listed as compatible with LGA 1150 sockets. Many coolers designed for LGA 1151 and LGA 1155 sockets will also fit LGA 1150, but you should confirm this.

    Man I just FOUND a Dell Optiplex 3020 with an I3 4160 and 16 GB 1600 Ram on the local waste disposal-plant and three days ago, I had bought a nofan CR 95 C in Britain for some 120 bucks. Now the holes of LGA 1155 and 1150 seem to be the same but I wonder whether the Dell power managment will accept a fan that needs NO electricity 🤣 . Hadn`t Linus techtips found a trick around that? 🤔 In the middle of the night when everything`s dead-quiet, a cooler-fan just jells at ya like a thunderstorm 😎

      A power supply is pretty easy to swap, especially in Dells (as long as you know the secret Dell ATX case PSU release code... ;-)
      I'm assuming you have an MT (Mid-Tower), yes...?
      Is there something in particular you're having trouble with...?

    Hi! Are all aftermarket coolers compatible? Dell is infamous for proprietary everything. I mean, are the screw holes standard size?
    I purchased a Raijintek Aidos II for my Opti 7010 MT, not knowing it comes with push pin bracket, which I cant manage to push through the screw holes no matter what.
    Can anyone recommend a cooler replacement that is known to be working with the motherboard?

  • @DeepakKumar-lv4te

    nice. those jonsbo coolers are cheap, only 2 heat pipes but I guess if you have a mega cpu you'll look for a 4+ heat pipe unit.
    I didn't get what you did to remove its fan and then put it back on, can you explain for me please? Was it stuck on or clipped on ? thx

  • @jonathantricoli6789
    @jonathantricoli6789 ปีที่แล้ว

    I have a dell optiplex 745 that I had bought for $20 but the problem I ran into was the cooler Takes up too much space The mounting holes are more vertical and less square than most lga 775 motherboards. I spent $6 on a q6600 to upgrade the e6300 in it and did a bios flash so it would recognize the quad core cpu. I want to upgrade or just switch out the original cooler to free up more space for the graphics card location. Otherwise I am going to be limited with the type of good graphics cards that will go in the pcie e 16x 1.0 slot. I read that non of the Radeon R series cards will work in it's first generation pci e 16x slot. However it would be nice if I could install my 9800gtx+ card in it since I may still have my 650 watt psu and 9800gtx+ still since it's at an old coworkers place. I just have to wait for him to arrive with some of my possessions since I was using him to store some of my stuff.

      R and RX cards don't play well with NON UEFI computers. Basically if it's a i3 2120, i5 2400, i7 2600 or newer it will be alright.

      the older XPS 410 uses a similar heatsink mounting system as your 960 and iirc, the XPS 410 has a copper-base, multi-pipe heatsink rated for CPUs around 100W. Roughly $15(US) for a used one.. Dell part no: X9694
