There's already a mechanism in place to allow teams to keep what they've developed with Bird Rights. If you're willing to pay, nothing is stopping a team from keeping their own. It seems your issue is with having a cap at all which ensures some level of competitive balance. Without that, you'd have the large market teams just buying up talent without any consequences.

There's already a mechanism in place to allow teams to keep what they've developed with Bird Rights. If you're willing to pay, nothing is stopping a team from keeping their own.
It seems your issue is with having a cap at all which ensures some level of competitive balance. Without that, you'd have the large market teams just buying up talent without any consequences.

KD was a free agent when he came to GS so it wasnt about cap space and it STILL isnt for GS. This new CBA is designed to help the franchises playing checkers aganist those playing chess.
